Chapter 389: Deep Sea Pet?

Chapter 389: Deep Sea Pet?

The darkness that wrapped around Christina exploded into a giant water-like splash. Each splash of the black aura became an orb was coated with a sphere of spinning water.

She shot the spheres to the Deep Sea Wanderer who in turn roared an fired a strong jet of water. The beast's attack crashed with Christina's. They were exuding so much mana, but there wasn't any struggle in the girl's face.

In fact, if there was anything, she was smiling. This made her friends' to shiver to their bones. This wasn't the sweet young yet wise Christina they knew of. This was a completely different person with a completely different aura.

"This was like when Irus possessed Elliot," Hope thought. He wanted to call the others but decided to report later. They need to win this fight first and Lance was busy with the infiltration.

Hope roared and flapped his wings with great force three times. He opened his snout and charged a ball of pure energy into it, but Christina raised her hand and signalled to stop him.

"No," Christina yelled. "This one is mine!"

Hope stopped his attack and roared, forgetting that she cannot understand him. He was trying to say that they need to hurry up to get reinforcements as fast as they could. The more they stay to fight this beast, the longer it takes for them to send back up.

Christina snapped her arms to either side of her that made both her and the Deep Sea Wanderer's attack to stop. "Trust me on this."

She then took a deep breath and formed a circle with her hands. The water the beast was on started to spin in one direction. It tried to leap out of it, but Christina pushed it back with a large ball of water.

Soon enough, a giant vortex was formed around the beast, binding it inside. It roared and wiggled its body that made its back open its wings.

Its wings was like a butterfly's wings, but it was formed from scales and skin. The buttefly wings had a paisley-like pattern that would make anyone nauseous if they stare at it for too long.

"Stay there!" Christina yelled, thrusting her index and middle finger to create arms made of water. It wrapped around the beast's body while the spinning vortex locked it inside.

With a raging growl, the Deep Sea Wanderer pierced its crocodile-like arms and spun in the opposite direction of the vortex. It roared once more and started to control the vortex. It was gaining speed by flapping its buttefly wings to help him spin in the right direction.

"Not on my watch," Christina said with a sinister grin on her lips. She clenched her right hand in front of her and made the vortex spin faster. The Wanderer's arms were still in the water, and it was still trying to stop it from spinning.

"Christina" Florencia trailed off and coveted her mouth with her hands in shock.

She couldn't believe that this was her friend. The blue haired girl didn't even sound like her. Her current voice had an ethereal tone to it that had an echo-like sound following it.

"Kneel down to my presence!" Christina yelled. "You are my servant now, and I am your master."

After saying this, the beast retracted both its arms back. It started to purr and gave Christina a pair of puppy eyes, making the girl giggle.

"That's more I like it!" Christina cheered. Her eyes reverted back to normal and the once raging sea from her attacks calmed down. She lowered herself near the Deep Sea Wanderer and patted its nose. "Who's a good girl? You're a good girl."

"Err," Florencia had her face contorted in confusion. "What?"

People were gathered in the middle of the city. A large wooden platform was sitting right in front of the large crowd of panicking people.

Just one look at them will make anyone know that these people had been neglected. Their thin figures and dirty clothes and body was a testament to that. Their eyes looke dull and lifeless and their lips were dry and chaffed.

They were hiding from the guards for years, trying to survive underground, oblivious to the fact that Sayu knew where they were all along. She was only watching them in the emperor's throne, laughing as she watched the people suffer in hunger and thirst.

"Why are we gathered here?"

"I heard there was an intruder."

"How did they know where we were hiding?"

The people talked amongst themselves while they waited for the woman to appear. The guards didn't seem to mind the whispers and words, and kept on letting the people talk.

Not a few hours after the people were gathered, a woman stepped on the wooden platform. She walked in the middle of it and conjured a wooden pedestal for her to stand on.

"Hello, people of Shyako," Sayu started. "I know everyone is curious as to why we have gathered everyone here today. But consider this as a reunion to you poor folks. You were very unfortunate to have experienced the stepping stone to the ultimate dream of the Diamond Emperor.

"But then again, we don't give you silly reunions to see how miserable the other camp is," Sayu chuckled. "We have gathered you here today as a celebration to find the infiltrators from the West. Those filthy white motherf*ckers are among us right now, I know that. And I will find them."

Sayu raised her right hand that made the guards took random people. There were ten guards who took one person each. Man, woman, child, they didn't bother to pick.

The people chosen by the guards were tied with rope on their bodies with their hands on their back. Their heads were covered with sack that had rose thorns inside, making the people scram in pain.

Some guards even went as far as wrapping the sack with a bandage ti make the rose thorns pierce the faces of the person inside more. The others were sent straight into a space right at the front of the platform.

Behind each captured civilian was a guard who all had excited looks in their faces. Their hands stayed on the handle of their swords as they waited for Sayu's next instructions.

"If you're going to come out now, we will let these people go," Sayu yelled. "I mean, let them go as in they're free from me. But at the count of ten and you still won't come out, I will kill all of these people one by one until no one is left."

She stopped talking for exactly ten seconds to wait for something to happen. When no one came out from their hiding, Sayu sighed and nodded to the guards who all brandished their swords without hesitation.

"Kill them," Sayu ordered.

The guards raised their swords and without hesitation. Their faces didn't have any guilt in them. With a single slash, blood was spilled everywhere. A loud clank of metal on wood echoed around the silent city center.

Ten bodies dropped dead to the floor as the once silent city was filled with cries of shock.
