Arrival
Arrival
Sinnoh might be mistaken for an isolated island much like Hoenn just by the games but in truth there was a fairly small set of islands dotted between it and the main continent that were so close together that the region was counted as part of the main continent. Why this was I had no fucking clue but that was just how it was. Between Orre and Sinnoh though the distance was at most only half the distance Hoenn was from Orre so it only took half a month to arrive.-
The trip itself wasn't worth talking about as it was basically just each day filled with boredom and monotony as we sailed up to Sinnoh. Nothing interesting happened at all as no pokemon attacked nor was this ship equipped with training grounds as it was a pure freight type vessel. It was designed and operated to deliver goods from Sinnoh to Orre once every three months as fast as humanly possible. It was only after we crossed into Sinnoh's waters properly that I had a break in the monotony as the system sent me a notification.-

[Achievement: Reach Sinnoh! Reward: 2x ability tickets!]
'So that was a built in feature and not a fluke.' I thought calmly as I accepted the tickets to be used later. 'Rota didn't count but maybe that was because of it's minute size so that just leaves Johto, Kanto, Almia and MAYBE Oblivia for the known regions. Perhaps visiting the wild zone islands would also count but I'd need to test that idea. Still that's at least eight abilities almost guaranteed for the future which may even let me elevate my aura again.' I thought casually as I stretched. Leaving my small cabin I walked without any issue even though the ship was lurching forwards and back with the waves.-
This was because of a small amount of aura leaving my feet to grip the deck under me with each step. The wet slippery metal and rubber matted walk space proved to be little inconvenience for me as I walked onto the main deck. "Oi! Can't you see it's bloody stormin out here!? What in the threes name makes you think now's a good time to step out here!?" A sailor who was soaked to the bone yelled at me over the howling winds and torrential rains.-
"Wanted to stretch my legs a bit don't mind me at all!" I called with a smile as I casually walked past him heading for the front of the ship. The man just watched with a dumbfounded look as I strolled forward without slipping or even tilting at all with the ship to keep my footing. Naturally the front of the ship was the most violently moving place in the entire ship but aura made acting like a part of the ship childs play as I anchored myself down. I lifted my eyepatch and opened my draconic eye and activated my x-ray at the same time enhancing my long distance vision dramatically. -
I ignored the pokemon I could see under the water and focused on looking forward to see if I could spot land. At first the answer was no but soon I saw the light of Canalave's lighthouse like a tiny pinprick in the darkness of the storm. 'Looks like we have another few hours before we start our approach.' I thought satisfied with my discovery and closed my eye and covered it back up after I stopped using my x-ray ability. With that taken care of I walked back to my room soaked but unbothered by it.-
The storm lessened greatly about an hour later and it came as no surprise when the call for land in sight was made. It was still pretty damn hard to see with how heavy the rain was but lighthouses were intentionally made obscenely bright for that exact reason, so it was impossible to miss while lit. The ship slowed and began it's approach to the harbor while I waited patiently in my cabin. There was a lot of shouting and the sound of boots on the deck outside as the ship got closer and closer to the city.-
I felt the ship turn around and begin backing into the port city but remained in my cabin until we stopped moving. Walking out I looked over the railing and got my first look at the city, it was rather underwhelming. Not bad mind you but I suppose the word bland best fits the place as the whole city was a dull stone grey with the vast majority of the buildings also looking the same as they were dull grey with dark blue roofs. I wasn't surprised though as unlike Gateon and Lilycove this place wasn't a business hub for the region despite being the only real shipping city.-
Canalave city was purely a shipping point and not a place people really lived. There was a standing population of a few dozen thousand people but most of the actual people here were just sailors waiting to head out again. The odd part in my opinion was that there was also a Gym here which meant that during the league season the people here surged as trainers came to challenge the places leader. I merely waved at the Captain of the ship as I jumped off the ship with a slow flip before landing on my feet.-
A bit of aura reinforcement made a mere fifteen or twenty foot drop with the proper form nothing difficult at all. Now in the city proper I decided to take a look around for a place to stay. The slate tile paved roads splashed as I walked across them looking for an inn or even a pokecenter. A window opened on a nearby house "Lad you'll catch cold if you keep wandering aimlessly like that." the old woman inside said concerned. "Unlikely but thank you for the concern. You wouldn't happen to know where an inn or pokecenter is would you?" I asked with a friendly smile.-
"You're on the wrong side of the canal for that lad, inns and pokecenter are on the other half of Canalave." she said honestly. "Huh? Well that would certainly explain why I haven't seen any, thanks for telling me I'll rush over there now." I said before taking off into a sprint down the street towards the nearest draw bridge. I frowned when I saw that it was up and that the other three were also up. 'Looks like I'm taking a swim then.' I thought with a sigh.
I put on my googles and dived over the railing into the canal slipping beneath the waters rough surface easily. It was dark as shit and the water was cloudy so I had to use my x-ray vision to see to the other side. I raised an eyebrow at what I saw under the water though as I hadn't expected it at all. There at the bottom of the canal tucked away nearly out of sight was a small doorway carved into the walls of the canal. According to my x-ray it lead to a whole ass abandoned house built below the waters surface and made in such a way that it had a sort of moonpool to enter it.
