A Vampire's Contract Wife

Chapter 10 - A Trap, And Natalias Scheme

Chapter 10: A Trap, And Natalia’s Scheme

Natalia, who had admitted to everything in person at the press conference, was quickly criticized by the public. They attacked her relentlessly.

Some people even started to criticize the runway show that she debuted at the peak of her career. They claimed that the runway show was unprofessional and lacking in standards. This incident also caused her to be labeled as a ‘manipulative b*tch’ and ‘freeloader’.

Bailey sat beside Natalia. The more Bailey read, the angrier she became. On the other hand, Natalia was much calmer.

“Don’t take it too seriously, Bailey. Trust me. Soon, I’ll pay them back everything a hundredfold.”

The domineering tone made Bailey feel relieved.

“Okay, Natalia, we’ll let that adulterous couple enjoy themselves for now.”

Knock, knock, knock!

A few impatient knocks interrupted Bailey and Natalia’s conversation.

Without permission, a janitor burst through the door. She looked at Natalia and Bailey who sat in the room and rolled her eyes.

Bailey was furious and stood up. “Who do you think you are? You’re the one who barged in here first!”

Natalia tugged at Bailey’s hand gently to calm her down. Meanwhile, she sneered at herself.

It turned out that her downfall in TY sent her to the depths that even a janitor thought herself superior.

The janitor was very observant. Noticing Natalia’s efforts to deescalate this issue, she tried to blow things up even more. She threw the mop against Natalia’s feet. “Miss Natalia, would you please do this old woman a favor and lift those noble legs of yours? You’re blocking me from cleaning!

“Look at yourself. Do you have any idea how bad your reputation is right now? Yet, you still have the audacity to come to the company. You being here means I have to clean an extra room. Oh, my poor back!”

Natalia’s expression twisted slightly.

Natalia might be at the lowest point of her life right now, but that did not mean that she would tolerate letting everyone step all over her.

Natalia immediately took out her phone and called Vasili. She pushed the loudspeaker button in front of the janitor. “Vasili, have I been reduced to a state where even a janitor can humiliate me?”

Most of the employees in TY were werewolves, and Vasili was not comfortable with the idea that his own people needed to suffer Natalia’s wrath. However, he had no choice since he still had some use for Natalia after all.

“Give me the name, Natalia. I’ll immediately notify HR to let the janitor go,” Vasili said.

Natalia hung up the phone and looked at the werewolf janitor with a cold expression. In a very cool voice, Natalia said, “You heard that clearly. Not everyone is as gullible as you think. At the very least, I’m not one of them. Even if my reputation is ruined now, I can easily decide whether you stay or you leave this place. That includes your life and death in the future!”

The werewolf janitor’s face was pale, and beads of cold sweat started dripping down her face. Her lips trembled as she remained immobile for a while.

She quickly bowed and apologized. “I’m sorry… Miss Natalia, please give me another chance. I won’t do this again.”

“What use is an apology?” Natalia asked coldly.

Bailey, who was watching from the side, was pleased and immediately added, “Now you regret it and start apologizing. What were you doing earlier?! Get lost!”

After settling the issue with the janitor, Natalia slowly got to her feet. “I’m going to Vasili’s office.”

The text message from Vasili that summoned Natalia to his office merely stayed in her inbox for a quick while before Natalia deleted it. She was now doing her best to cut all ties with Vasili unless she had no choice.

“My dear Natalia, your reputation has hit rock bottom. You’re my future wife. For your sake and the company’s sake, I’ve arranged some events for you. I want to help you change the public’s perception of you.”

Vasili cut straight to the point. Natalia knew Vasili would not have any good intentions, so she played along. “Sure. Thank you, Vasili. You’re so thoughtful. What’s the event?”

Vasili smiled smugly. “Irina’s hurt, isn’t she? Just visit her, take care of her, apologize, fix your relationship with her, and inform the public of your repentance.”

Natalia looked at Vasili’s face and felt the disgust that surged from the bottom of her heart. He was shameless beyond measure.

Natalia knew that this was obviously an idea that Irina came up with. She wanted to use this incident to humiliate Natalia. Vasili had undeniably gave Irina all of his love and attention.

Noticing the hesitation on Natalia’s face, Vasili immediately went on to persuade her. “It’s just for show. There’ll be a live broadcast. In just a few minutes, I’m sure the public’s perception of you will be reversed.”
