Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 55 A visit to the demon, blood ocean 2

The Sword Demon moved swiftly, obliterating any obstacle in his path. Blood stained the ground as creatures from various races fell before him.

**At the Quinlan Sect:**

A gathering of powerful auras converged at the entrance as a woman sat in meditation, cross-legged. She slowly opened her eyes.

"Enter, Elders," she spoke softly.

"Yes, Sect Master," echoed several voices as aged men and women stepped into the chamber, one after another.

"It's about the Peak Master, the Sword Demon. What happened? I thought he was laying low," an elder woman asked, concern lacing her tone. The others nodded in agreement.

"He was—until something happened," the Sect Master replied, her face betraying little emotion. Sword Demon was a formidable Rank 2 being, and his sudden anger signified something serious. Someone had touched a nerve.

"What are your orders, Sect Master?" an elderly man inquired.

"Prepare for war. He will manage on his own," she said, her voice cold and detached.

"Yes, Sect Master," they all bowed and left.

As the door shut, she sighed, her gaze lingering on a distant point. "He had better be."

**At the Demon Region:**

This world was divided into two : the Light Area, home to various races, and the Dark Area, where demons, ghosts, and the Bone Clan resided.

At the barrier separating the two stood a man gripping a massive black sword. His face was cold, eyes burning with fury, as he brought his weapon down.

The barrier shattered under his might, and he stepped into the Dark Area—the land of the dead.

No sooner had Sword Demon entered than a horde of bone demons surged toward him. Their numbers were uncountable.

"Hmph," he snorted, and in an instant, a fierce sword aura erupted from him, shredding the demons to dust.

Yet as more creatures with glowing blue and green eyes swarmed, he simply walked forward. His aura alone prevented them from approaching within a thousand meters. He moved calmly through the thick mass of enemies, surrounded by the suffocating presence of darkness.

Hours passed, and he arrived at the Demon Lair. For the first time, he lifted his sword.

*Shing!*

The trillions of bone demons froze in place, their bodies crumbling to ash. Though these creatures were only Rank 0, their sheer numbers made them a threat to stronger beings.

Suddenly, the air shifted as ten-meter-tall demons appeared, their Rank 1 auras heavy with malice.

"Where is the hundred-meter-tall demon?" Sword Demon asked coldly.

"What the... Are you insane?" a demon roared, enraged. No human would dare to intrude into their domain and speak with such disrespect.

"You're going to die here, human," a female demon hissed, stepping forward with a deadly gleam in her eyes.

Tension thickened as their auras clashed.

Sword Demon chuckled darkly. "You all will die." His cold eyes glinted as he raised his sword.

*Boom!*

His weapon blurred, creating millions of afterimages as it cleaved through the demons. In moments, blood rained down, staining the once-black blade crimson.

Sword Demon stood amidst the aftermath, unmoved. He stepped forward, deeper into the lair, as more demons charged without hesitation, seeking to overwhelm him.

But it took nothing more than a flick of his hand for Sword Demon to clear the battlefield once again. Demonic howls echoed as corpses piled up, forming mountains, yet he pressed on relentlessly.

**Deep in the Demon Lair:**

Seated around a massive table were beings each thirty meters tall, their horns twisted and wings like those of bats. These were the highest-ranking demons of the Dark Area.

Despite their vast numbers, the population here was not infinite, unlike the Abyss. With Sword Demon's rampage, they were rapidly losing their forces.

"Who will deal with him?" one demon chuckled, his four wings fluttering as he smirked at the others.

"Why don't you try?" another teased, clearly enjoying the chaos.

"We're losing cannon fodder, you know," a female demon said dryly.

"They're fodder for a reason," a different demon laughed.

"Amuse yourselves all you want. I'm going out," a demon announced, standing up. The rest burst into laughter.

"If you touch that human's son, she'll hunt you down to the ends of the world," a bull-like demon grinned.

"I won't," the demon replied, walking out with a dark smile.

"You better not," the others quipped as laughter filled the chamber once more.

The insect-like demon soared out and, in seconds, confronted Sword Demon, gripping his black sword tightly.

"Leave," the insect demon commanded coldly.

Sword Demon regarded him with calm indifference, his aura simmering beneath the surface. He lowered his weapon.

"I'll be back," he said before his aura exploded, launching a sudden attack.

The insect demon barely blocked in time.

*Clang!*

The sound of steel clashing with a hardened insect leg echoed through the air.

Sword Demon gave a final snort before turning and walking away.

The insect demon stood still, watching with murderous intent as his opponent vanished from sight. Glancing down, he noticed his leg trembling.

"He's a monster... one that must be killed before he becomes invincible like his mother," the insect demon muttered, glaring at the mountains of demon corpses.

**At the Quinlan Sect**

Sword Demon reappeared, his aura restrained, but there was a noticeable difference in his once carefree expression. He strode in on Shen Ye and Chu Su as they sparred, observing them closely. It surprised him that Shen Ye grew stronger with every exchange, while Chu Su weakened.

"Rar..." The small dragon on Sword Demon's shoulder growled softly, and he nodded in agreement. Something was definitely off about Shen Ye, but it wasn't his place to reveal it.

"Master," Shen Ye and Chu Su greeted in unison upon noticing his presence.

"When will the war start?" Sword Demon asked, taking out his gourd of wine and sipping it casually.

*Rar... Rar... RAAAAAR!* The dragon roared in irritation as it watched Sword Demon drink. The demon, however, ignored the protest.

"In three days, Master," Chu Su responded, and Sword Demon nodded approvingly.

"Master, did you kill that demon? Where's my sister?" Shen Ye asked, his voice tinged with disappointment upon seeing Sword Demon return alone.

"He isn't one of them. He's a different breed, and this place is far too vast. I couldn't cover every corner," Sword Demon admitted, frowning.

From the destruction he had caused, any powerful demon should have revealed itself by now. But there had been no sign of it.

"I guess I'll have to handle it myself," Shen Ye thought bitterly, clenching his fists.

"Are you okay?" Sword Demon asked, noticing his disciple's tension.

"I just need some time to think about the upcoming war," Shen Ye replied calmly. "I'll take my leave, Master." He bowed and turned to walk away.

"Shen Ye," Chu Su called out, but Shen Ye didn't stop. She started after him, but Sword Demon gently held her arm, stopping her.

"Let him be," he said, releasing her hand as he downed another sip from his gourd.

"You two have gotten closer while I was gone," Sword Demon teased with a light chuckle.

"It's not like that. I just understand what he's going through," Chu Su replied quietly.

"Empathy, huh? It's almost like your own story," Sword Demon observed as he took another gulp of wine.

"The Ancient Clan is coming," Chu Su said, her voice filled with anxiety.

"And you plan to fight them?" Sword Demon asked, frowning.

"Yes, I will," Chu Su declared firmly.

"You'll die," Sword Demon said bluntly.

"At least I'll die fighting back. I won't submit to their rules like you!" Chu Su shot back angrily before storming off.

Sword Demon was left alone with his wine gourd in hand. "You know nothing of their terror... or what they did to my mother," he muttered, pain flashing across his face as the gourd slipped from his grasp.

"Oh, almost dropped it," he chuckled, catching the gourd just before it hit the ground. "Fine, a little sip for you. Sigh, I'm spoiling you," he said, pouring some wine for the small dragon.

*Rarrr... ra... rrr...* The dragon purred contentedly, already tipsy and falling asleep.

**The Female Sect Master:**

At the back of the Quinlan Sect, the Female Sect Master rose in frustration, her gaze fixed on the peak where Sword Demon resided. She had been training for hours, her body drenched in sweat as she repeatedly expended and replenished her energy.

"Son, do you still cling to the past?" she whispered, sorrow in her eyes. "How can I, your mother, watch you bear all this pain alone?"

She clenched her fists. "But why... why can't I break through to the quasi Rank 3 realm?"

The second layer of space opened before her, revealing a dark, foreboding void.

"This time, I won't emerge until I break through," she vowed as she entered the space, her determination unwavering.

---

**Meanwhile:**

"Damn, the taste of wine never gets old," Void said, draining an entire jug with a grin.

"One more!" he demanded with a tipsy laugh.

...hiccup...

Void chuckled as servants brought forth hundreds more jugs. He raised his drink high.

"Cheers!" he shouted, and the orcs around him echoed his call, their voices booming in unison. The feast continued late into the night, until Linkir and Anya returned.

"Master, today is the day of the war," Linkir announced, bowing before him. Behind her, Anya stood, trembling in shock and fear.

Void grinned, circling around them. He grabbed Anya by the hair, lifting her effortlessly.

"Are you afraid?" he asked with a chilling smile. Anya frantically shook her head.

"No... no... no, Master. I'm not!" she stammered, terrified.

"You should be," Void sneered. With a flick of his fingers, a small red flame streaked toward the inn, igniting it in an instant. The building erupted into a blazing inferno, reducing everything—including the orcs—to ashes in moments.

Void released Anya, letting her fall to the ground as he turned away.

"Follow me, slaves. We've enjoyed the pleasures of this world long enough. The war is about to begin," he said with a twisted smile, his figure walking into the horizon beneath the cold, luminous moonlight.

The war was imminent.
