Chapter 8
Nightfall, Meilan Bar.
It was Su Ningxi's first day at work. Even the ordinary work clothes could not cover up her impressive figure. Only her pockmarked face and tacky black-framed glasses were a letdown for the audience.
Because of her unattractive looks, she was arranged to do backstage chores without showing her face.
As the night grew deeper, more and more people came in, and the staff got busier and busier.
When everyone was busy, suddenly, crash!
The bottle of wine Su Ningxi was holding fell to the ground, broken glass and wine splashing all over the floor.
"How could you be so careless? Do you know how expensive that wine was? Selling you off still wouldn't pay for it!" The supervisor frowned and scolded her.
Su Ningxi patiently explained, "I didn't do it on purpose. The bottle was too slippery."
"Are you joking? If you didn't hold it properly, then you didn't hold it properly. Don't blame the bottle. Why didn't it slip from anyone else's hands, only yours? Does the bottle have a grudge against you? In the future, when you make a mistake, look for the reason in yourself first."
Su Ningxi didn't talk back anymore and just replied "Yes."
Seeing Su Ningxi's decent attitude, the supervisor didn't say anything more either. He looked at another waitress and told her, "Xiaokui, she's new here. Help guide her more."
"Of course, supervisor," the girl called Xiaokui readily agreed.
After the neighboring team left, Xiaokui's attitude changed. She took a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet and handed it to Su Ningxi, instructing her, "Take this wine to VIP Room B."

"You're letting her go to VIP Room B, isn't that..." Another waitress said puzzledly, but Xiaokui stopped her with a look before she could finish.
Seeing their meaningful glance exchange, Su Ningxi naturally knew this wasn't a good job, but she didn't say anything. She took the tray and agreed to it. She had prepared mentally when she came here. She could endure this much contempt.
When Su Ningxi entered the room, a strong smell of smoke rushed at her, making her cough involuntarily a few times.
Then she heard someone joking, "Yo! Since when did Meilan get such a hot bodied waitress? "
Immediately, everyone's eyes turned to look at the door in unison.
"Great body, but the face is a bit..." The rest didn't need to be said for everyone to understand the implication.
"What a waste of a good figure."
"She must be new here! Haven't seen her before."
...
The moment Su Ningxi entered, the first person she noticed was Huo Yuchen. His extraordinary aura made it hard for people not to pay attention to him. Her intuition told her this man's identity was not simple.
The bespoke long British-style coat outlined his tall figure. The collar of his white shirt was casually open. His hands were casually clasped and resting on his legs. Eyes slightly closed, this man was so handsome, more so than any man she had seen. But that icy aura could freeze someone to death.
She imperceptibly retracted her gaze. There were still sounds of discussion about her. Su Ningxi pretended not to hear them. Holding the wine tray steadily, she walked over and took out the wine bottle to place on the table. "Here's the red wine you ordered Sirs. Please enjoy."
When she got up to leave, she was suddenly called to stop by Ye Chengfeng.
Su Ningxi held the tray to her chest and gave Ye Chengfeng a professional smile. "How may I help you, Sir?"
Ye Chengfeng said, "Have we met somewhere before? You look very familiar."
Su Ningxi glanced at Ye Chengfeng and shook her head. She didn't remember ever seeing this man.
Then she heard Ye Chengfeng slap his thigh in realization. "Ah! I remember now. You were that drunk girl."
He looked at Huo Yuchen, "Wasn't she, Yuchen?"
Su Ningxi was confused. What drunk girl?
She politely said, "I'm afraid you've mistaken me for someone else, Sir!"
Ye Chengfeng said, "No mistake. It was you. Last Monday night. Not only did you vomit all over Yuchen, you also falsely accused him of being a thief who stole your phone. You clung onto him and wouldn't let him leave. You even wanted to be his sponsor."
He wasn't actually there at the time. He had heard about it from others and got curious, so he checked the surveillance footage to find out. He almost laughed himself to death seeing his good buddy embarrassingly trapped like that for the first time in so many years.
Hearing Ye Chengfeng speak so certainly, Su Ningxi was at a loss too. She did get drunk that night. Shen Zhilan had sent her back. He didn't tell her afterwards about anything else happening. With his character, if he knew, he would have teased her about it for years.
She instinctively glanced at Huo Yuchen's direction. He still had that indifferent expression, not even looking at her once.
No matter what, she had to firmly deny it.
"Sir, you sure have a wild imagination. Today is my first day at work. I've never seen this Mr. Yuchen you speak of before."
"You don't recognize him?" Ye Chengfeng was incredulous hearing Su Ningxi's words. Were there really still people in the capital who didn't recognize Huo Yuchen?
"Should I recognize him?" Su Ningxi asked doubtfully. Could this be some big shot?
"Haha..."
Ye Chengfeng burst out laughing. He said to Huo Yuchen, "Yuchen, I've finally found a woman who doesn't recognize you."
Huo Yuchen rolled his eyes at him. "Boring."
The others looked at Su Ningxi even more contemptuously.
"This woman really has no class, to not even recognize Young Master Huo."
"What class could a waitress have? If she had any class, would she be a waitress?"
...
From their discussion, Su Ningxi vaguely guessed this person's identity. Surname Huo, with Yuchen in his name, and with such an extraordinary bearing, could he be the famous Huo Yuchen of the capital?
Just then, a familiar voice called out, "I recognize you. You're that woman who shoplifted clothes from the K.K boutique last time."
Following the voice, Su Ningxi saw an outrageously made-up woman looking arrogantly at her. It was Sheng Wei. Su Ningxi almost didn't recognize her. If not for the familiar voice, she would have thought she was a hostess here.
Shoplifting? Hmph...
She really could make things up.
Now the people in the room were also looking at Su Ningxi with disdain. They despised petty thieves.
Su Ningxi coldly looked at Sheng Wei, pretending not to recognize her. "Who are you? Don't falsely accuse me without evidence."
"You don't remember me?"
Sheng Wei didn't sound pleased. They had fought last time, just a few days ago. She felt ignored that this woman had forgotten her so quickly. It irritated her.
Su Ningxi said, "Have we met?"
"Last time at the boutique, you were with Feng Xiaoxiao and them..." Sheng Wei recounted the situation that day, trying to jog Su Ningxi's memory.
