Chapter 238 - Freeing Grace And Little Nightmare!
"Yes, there is a way." There wasn't a way. But the spirit could tell what Elliot was thinking, and she didn't want to create bad blood with him. The spirit was an independent part of the saintess soul that was here to find genius and make them work for a specific cause, not create enmity with them. So, even though there was no rule that allowed spirit beasts to enter the housing complex, she didn't mind making an exception just this once.
"Care to explain?" Elliot said as his eyes narrowed down to thin slits. He made a smiley face, one filled with unbridled threat.
"All of the spirit beasts raised in this forest are the property of the soul race, including the two who are following you. If you want to take them with you, then you must buy them off by using the points you have earned."
Elliot lowered his intent to duke it out with the spirit, and a far calmer look appeared on his youthful face. Since it was willing to negotiate with him, there was no need to burn the bridges.
"How much?" He asked.
"The horrifying nightmare is worth 7000 points while the twin-headed snake is hundred times that." She replied.
The horrifying nightmare felt devastated after finding out that it was a hundred times cheaper than Grace. Grace, too, wasn't happy, although she was worth more than the other servant of her master. One might ask why she wasn't happy. Well, it's because it was her master that was going to lose out in the end.
"Why is there such a large discrepancy in their prices?" Elliot wasn't a fool. The spirit points were a currency that he could use in this place to purchase treasures! He wondered whether the spirit was intentionally trying to rip him off.
"The stronger a beast, the more costly it would be to purchase them. Moreover, she also has the blood of a flood dragon, so her worth increases even more. Seventy thousand points is me being generous and giving you a discount. If you weren't the best candidate in this settlement, I wouldn't be willing to sell her to you for such a low price." The spirit retorted.
In truth, Grace was a precious little snake that had mutated and could evolve to become a mighty dragon! She had the chance of surpassing a flood dragon in terms of strength! Evil scientists all around the galaxy would love to kidnap her and perform cruel experiments on her. At the same time, ignorant brutes would love to cut her up and drink her blood to undergo a physique strengthening baptism! Elliot was the only one who didn't know the true worth of Grace. In his eyes, she was just a sweet little girl and also his companion who he wouldn't hurt, not until she betrays him.

"I'm going to purchase them both," Elliot said.
He had checked his total points and found out that he possessed a million points!
"Are you sure?"
Before he could even say a word, Grace hugged his leg and said, "Master, don't do that. It's a big waste to use so many points to buy me."
"Your master is rich, and you're more precious than some numbers." Elliot picked her up and placed her on his shoulder.
He looked at the statue and said, "My decision is final."
"Congratulations on becoming their new master!" The spirit said.
Right at that very moment, Elliot lost more than 2-3rd of his spirit points. He was a millionaire before, but now he had become a poor beggar. However, he had legally gained two powerful companions, so it was worth it in the end!
The statue suddenly raised its hands towards Elliot, starling the two beasts. A gap opened up in its palms, and two scrolls slid out. Elliot took them out and realized that they were the contract that signified that he had purchased the two beasts. If he comes across the members of the soul race, he could evade all trouble by showing them this document. Then, they won't attack him for owing a beast that belongs to their civilization!
"One more thing, can I know what happened to John and Theodore?"
The beasts had searched all of the zones, but they failed to find these two people. Although he was worried about them, he was sure that they weren't dead. Not one has come across their remains, so he was positive that they had survived. Maybe they were hiding somewhere, or perhaps they were trapped somewhere and waiting to be saved.
"The two youngsters who entered the settlement the same time as you?"
Elliot nodded his head.
"You don't need to worry about them. They have grown up to become fine men." She said, mysterious, tinging her sweet voice.
"What?" Elliot wasn't able to understand her.
"Haha, you will understand when you see them."
"You know where they are?"
"Yes," she said, They are on the other side."
Realizing that they had already reached the housing complex zone, Elliot's worry died down, and he felt more at ease.
"Let's go."
With that said, the three used the teleporter to reach the housing complex.
"What took you so long?"
Lucy was already waiting for them. As they didn't come out of the portal for a while, she was worried that something might have happened to them. She wanted to go back, but the portal was only one-way.
"Ah, we faced some trouble. Nothing to worry about." Elliot brushed it off and looked at his surroundings.
On his left, there was a monument with some words on it.
"Welcome to the floating island."
As he was able to understand the language of the soul race to a certain extent, he managed to read the words.
"How can you understand what's written on the stone?" Lucy heard what he mattered and was a bit surprised.
"I learned it," Elliot said.
They were standing on a floating stone.
A bridge was extended in front of him. The bridge was connected to the city square.
"Master, look there."
The horrifying nightmare said, and Elliot looked towards the bridge.. There, a person with a blindfold had suddenly appeared. Suddenly, a shadow rushed out from behind that person and charged towards Elliot!
