Chapter 82: Tournament rules
Chapter 82: Tournament rules
After saying those words, Headmaster Gerald took a few steps back to stand beside the staff members of the academy. Whereas instructor Leonardo stepped ahead, coming into the view of the students who stood below the arena.
He looked at the students while saying, “The rules of the tournament are simple. First off, this tournament doesn’t allow the use of artifacts, magical to higher stage weapons, and other external items. That’s to say, one can use weapons with no additional and special effects. Secondly, you’re not allowed to kill your opponents. Weapons have no eyes, and injuring someone in a fight is normal, but I warn you to control yourself and hold yourself back from killing your opponents. Otherwise, I promise things won’t end well for you. Lastly, only those in the magical realm and channel opening stage can join this tournament. The losers will be disqualified, and the winners will get to fight another match. The last fifty participants will get to go to the unexplored settlement. That’s all!”
“I want to ask something.” After Leonardo finished explaining the rules to the students, Rodriguez lifted his hand and said those words to garner instructor Leonardo’s attention as well as many other students, then asked, “What happens if we break one of the rules?”
“Those who are found to have violated one of the rules of the tournament will gain a strike on their character. Three strikes and you will be forbidden from joining all future events, meaning you won’t be able to participate in any tournament and competition along the lines not only in the academy but also the ones held by the magician association. So, I advise all of you to not break any rules, even if you want to impress your friends by doing something crazy, even if someone dares you to do so!” Instructor Leonardo said with a grave expression, quelling the ill intentions and foolish plans of many students.
Instructor Leonardo knew how teenagers were nowadays, give them a chance and they will ignorantly do cruel and unforgivable things to others, and thus, he clearly told them the consequences of their actions.

Elliot nodded his head, thinking that he will be able to make the rules work in his favor.
“With that said, let’s start the tournament! Those who want to participate, please line up before the booths and get a token.”
Instructor Leonardo said, and the students who want to participate in the tournament made their way to the nearby booths.
While Theo, Elliot, John, and Lisa were moving towards one of the booths, someone intentionally bummed into John then angrily said, “Dirty trash How dare you bump into me?! Don’t you know you’re worse than trash? Your dirty shoulder ruined my precious clothes. What are you going to do about it?! How about you dry clean it with your dirty tongue?!”
The students besides them were attracted by the words of abuse and turned to look at the commotion, only to see a second-year abusing the infamous Hollow, and they felt no need to intervene in this matter, but they also didn’t turn their head away from the commotion and kept on looking at with a gaze of deep interest, hoping to see some action and how John get his ass handed over to him.
John’s eyes twitched in anger as he realized that this person wearing a uniform for the second year students bummed into him intentionally, intending to create a commotion, but he wasn’t going to let him continue to abuse him verbally, so he retorted: “What do you mean?! You’re the damn bastard who bummed into me!”
“You dare talk back. Looks like you’ve forgotten who you are. Let me remind you.” The second-year cracked his knuckles and immediately attacked John, launching a punch covered in a blue aura towards his face.
Caught off guard by the senior’s sudden attack, John’s eyes snapped shut in horror. Not only was he too slow to evade the punch, but he was also too weak to endure it. He could feel the viciousness behind the attack and knew that he will be missing many teeth if it connects with his face.
Elliot’s eyes narrowed in anger when he saw the bastard attacking John. While the second-year student’s punch was reaching towards John, Elliot stomped his right foot on the ground, and at the same time, a large amount of golden energy burst from under the same foot, propelling him toward his desired direction with a speed so fast that he appears besides John in a split of a second.
What the hell? How did he move so fast?
The ones looking at the commotion saw Elliot suddenly appearing there and thought that he had teleported over there, and their eyes glistened in excitement as teleportation was one of the most powerful abilities of humans, and they were looking at one such ability type user!
How could they have ever know that he wasn’t using teleportation but the power of God?! If they knew, many humans would have started to worship him.
“Hmph!”
Just when the punch was about to land on his face, Elliot grabbed it tightly, stopping it inches away from John’s face, causing the area to be filled with the murmuring of the students.
“How could it be?”
“Why is he so fast?”
“How is possible for a first-year to stop the punch of a second-year?”
As he heard the words of disbelief from the students around him, John’s eyes blinked open, and he saw that Elliot has protected him once again from the bullies.
What a great friend, John thought while smiling and looking at Elliot’s back.
“What the?!” The second-year looked at Elliot with eyes that were not only opened wide but also reflected his disbelief and surprise as he found it hard to believe that the person who stopped his super punch was a first-year student!
“Who are you?” The second-year asked while looking at Elliot in annoyance, annoyed that he helped a hollow, the one known as the slave of magicians and the bottom feeders of the magician community.
“Oh, you don’t know about me. What a surprise! But then again, why should I tell my name to a dick-faced hairy bastard like you who dares not accept her mistakes and barks like a bitch to an innocent passerby?”
“Dick-head? He really looks like one!”
“Now that you say that, I think he does look like one!”
“Omg! He is so ugly and also looks like the overused little brother of a red man!”
“Hahahahahaha!”
Elliot said, changing the second-year student’s gender and race to a female dog with a few words, making many nearby students laugh out loud.
