Back For My Daughter

Chapter 1288: Snotty Little Fellow Is Back!

"Huh, didn't she just go out, why did so come in so soon?"

One of the elderly ladies noticed Grandma Xue walking into the hall once again.

It had been not more than 5 minutes since she had gone and here she was again, making her confused.

However, other than her, barely anyone else noticed it, the reason behind this was pretty simple.

Everyone was just too sad to notice her.

Almost everyone had their minds flashing with memories of the time they had spent with Litte Qiqi these 2 years or so.

But as they recalled all of it, it felt that it wasn't enough, it was like this all had happened too quickly and they were left with their sad and dull old life yet again.

Meanwhile, behind Grandma Xue, Little Qiqi who was holding the hem of her gown while trying to hide herself was astonished by the dead silence.

'Huh, why is it so quiet, isn't there anyone, did Grandma bring Qiqi to make a fool?'

The little girl couldn't help but think with her brows raised high, as she wanted to poke her head out and see around if Grandma Xue was making fun of her and there was no one in the hall.

However, believing her grandma, the little girl didn't poke her head out and waited for her grandma's words.

"Hahahaha."

Meanwhile, Grandma Xue laughed out loud, attracting everyone's attention.

"En?"

"Hey old fellows, come let's have lunch, it's time for medicines for some of us."

She announced.

"Sister Xue, if not for the medicines, I don't really have the heart to eat anything."

Another elderly woman smiled wryly.

"Hoho, you don't know, maybe you would eat a lot with what I am about to tell you."

Grandma Xue chuckled and said mysteriously, eliciting a confused look from a few women.

"What is it, Sister Xue?"

They asked in unison before they felt a small shadow behind Grandma Xue's shadow.

Upon seeing it, they realized that it was almost the height of her thighs and seemed to be hiding behind her.

"Could it be?"

A few gasped as their eyes started to well up with tears.

"Hmm."

Grandma Xue nodded while sneakily bringing her finger before her lips to not let them say anything further.

The three nodded before placing their palms on their lips.

Meanwhile, Grandma Xue carefully made her way to the group of old men, who were somewhat despondent and grumpy.

"Hey Old Wang, come let's eat something with us."

"Miss Xue, I don't have any medicines to take and I don't feel like eating either."

Old Wang shook his head, not even taking a look at her as he stared out of the window and at the small tree that had some flowers.

He remembered that the small tree was planted by Little Jia about 2 years ago after the girl ate a cherry.

Although they had told her that the seed won't grow into a sapling since it was cooked.

But since the little girl was so eager, they let her.

And somehow, a few weeks later a small plant had grown in the spot and the girl would water it daily with her small water bottle.

This had astounded almost everyone in the old age home even the Gardner and a few of the old men who were always interested in plants and trees.

And right beside the few-foot-tall cherry tree was a small sapling that was around a foot tall.

This was planted by Little Qiqi after the little girl entered the senior class.

"SIGH."

"Kids grow and it's hard to see them leave."

Old Wang muttered to himself, thinking that Grandma Xue might have already left.

He knew that there was no more reason for her to force him to eat against their will like the others.

"I know, but this will happen one day or the other, or how are they supposed to grow?"

Grandma Xue's words entered his ears, eliciting a nod from the old man.

"But..."

"What if you could enjoy the time with them, not thinking that this is the last time you would meet?"

She asked with a mysterious smile playing on her lips which elicited confused glances from a few.

"Maybe, I won't even think of it as a last chance and be like usual," Old Wang shrugged while a few others nodded in agreement.

"Well then, it's time to get USUAL."

Grandma Xue said before a small figure jumped from behind her to her side, shocking everyone.

"Snotty Little Fellow!"

An old grandpa called out, causing the little girl to pout.

"Grandpa Kai, you aren't supposed to call Qiqi that."

The little girl turned around with her small hands folded on her chest causing everyone to laugh out.

Back when Little Qiqi first came here, she had a runny nose which made Old Kai name her Little Snotty, this would of course annoy the little girl since she wasn't really snotty.

"Ohh, my bad, forgive this old man."

The old man chuckled, but he carefully patted the little girl's head as if trying to coax her.

"Humph, okay, this time Qiqi will forgive you."

Meanwhile, Old Wang stared at the small figure with shock written all over his face.

He was just too astounded to even say anything.

His eyes were wide open and his jaws were threatening to drop on the floor.

"Grandma Wang, why would you not have your lunch, how will you play with Qiqi if you don't have energy, didn't you say that we should eat properly to play and study?"

The little girl walked to Old Wang and asked while taking his hand and playing with his fingers.

"Hmm."

"Snap out of it old Foggie, the little girl is really here."

A hand slapped on his shoulder, removing him from his daze as he looked at Little Qiqi.

"Yeah, I remember."

Meanwhile, at the door, a smile appeared on Ye Qian's lips as he gazed inside the hall while Xiao Ya who was in his hand asked.

"Dad, why is that Grandpa looking at big sister like that?"

Ye Qian turned to her and pinched her nose.

"Tell me, how would you feel if you would meet me or your mumma and then we don't meet."

"Nooo, I will get very very sad," the little girl shook her head in alarm and hugged Ye Qian tightly, not wanting to let him move away even a bit.

Ye Qian chuckled and continued.

"That's how he, no, everyone here was feeling before we came."
