Chapter 31
C31 – Preparation Plan
Lately, Pei Yu’s access to the great god novel was in a cooldown period. It would be several days before he could dive back into its pages.
Pei Yu, restless with boredom, hadn’t visited his sister in the hospital recently. Instead, he focused on elevating his physical condition to a new level. His peak combat value might have reached the Perfection Stage, but his actual cultivation remained firmly in the Grandmaster tier.
He had rigorously trained every bone in his body. To onlookers, he might seem to be at his prime, but Pei Yu felt far from satisfied. “I’ve strengthened two hundred and sixty bones. At the Grandmaster level, I can do as I please, nearly unbeatable among my peers. But against a stronger adversary, I’m still outmatched.”
Pei Yu’s discontent spurred him on. He persisted with the Hundred Refined To Be A God technique, striving to fortify his foundation and ascend to a higher plane.
But days of secluded training yielded no progress. He hit a plateau, improvement eluding him, his combat value stagnating. Resigned, he sighed, “It seems I need to turn to novels to grow stronger.”
Meanwhile, in a grand villa in the western part of N City, two Grandmasters sat across from each other, their conversation light and jovial.
“Duoge, have you made up your mind? The package Thunderclap Martial Club is offering is double what you get at Super Martial Club. Join us, and we’ll ensure you’re well-compensated,” one of them said.

“Deputy Master Pei, can I take your word for it?” asked the other.
The men in dialogue were Zhuo Duoge, the Second Master of the Super Martial Club, and Pei Wudi, the Deputy Master of the Thunderclap Martial Club.
“Absolutely,” Pei Wudi assured with a chuckle, pouring tea for Zhuo Duoge. “You’re aware of our Thunderclap Martial Club’s capabilities. Surely you don’t doubt we can provide such resources?”
Zhuo Duoge pondered deeply. He knew the Thunderclap Martial Club all too well; with its profound heritage, it was a powerhouse, second only to none in N City.
The Thunderclap Martial Club was more than twice as formidable as the Super Martial Club, standing as the sole rival to the First Martial Club in N City.
Their club boasted a wealth of resources that dwarfed those of the Super Martial Club. In recent years, the Thunderclap Martial Club’s meteoric rise had put it on track to challenge the dominance of the First Martial Club.
Their strategy for growth was straightforward: they simply used money to recruit powerhouses.
They leveraged their financial clout to entice top talent. Anyone of Fifth Grade or higher was within their recruitment radar. Zhuo Duoge himself had been approached six months earlier.
Initially, Zhuo Duoge had steadfastly declined their offers. But as the invitations kept coming, each with more attractive terms than the last, he found himself increasingly swayed.
Upon his arrival, Pei Wudi wasted no time in assuring him that resources were plentiful.
Noticing Zhuo Duoge’s reluctance, Pei Wudi offered a smile and added, “Once you join us, you’ll become the master of our sixth branch, overseeing more than fifty thousand people. Surely that beats your current position at the lackluster Super Martial Club, doesn’t it?”
“I’ve heard that the Super Martial Club is about to open yet another branch. They’ve barely recruited any new disciples and are now reallocating members from your branches.”
“Do you honestly see a future for yourself at the Super Martial Club?”
Pei Wudi’s remarks gave Zhuo Duoge much to consider.
He couldn’t deny the truth in those words. The Super Martial Club was appointing a new Grandmaster, which meant his branch would lose both people and resources—something he found intolerable.
Why should Pei Yu, barely into his twenties, be appointed as a Master?
It seemed grossly unfair to those like him who had dedicated decades to the Super Martial Club.
“Fine, I agree to your terms. When the time is right, I’ll make the move to the Thunderclap Martial Club!”
The more Zhuo Duoge mulled it over, the clearer it became that he was getting the short end of the stick. After careful consideration, he accepted the offer.
