Chapter 36

C36 – The Blood Qi Was Revealed!

Pei Yu experienced a reaction the first time he refined dragon blood.

Yet, as the night progressed, Pei Yu’s advancement wasn’t as rapid as he had anticipated.

By the next morning, the strides he made in refining the dragon blood were modest.

However, he could sense a wild circulation of Blood Qi within him, and a force that seemed eager to burst forth.

“I’ve heard that for those at the Perfection Stage, cultivating combat value isn’t enough; Blood Qi is an essential component. It’s time I focused on cultivating my Blood Qi.”

Pei Yu, being a martial artist, had some knowledge of the craft.

Martial artists below Fifth Grade have negligible Blood Qi, barely perceptible. They don’t need to cultivate it. Some may go their whole lives without encountering Blood Qi.

But once a martial artist ascends beyond Fifth Grade, their Blood Qi stirs to life. Blood Qi signifies the extent of one’s stamina in battle.

The greater one’s Blood Qi, the more enduring they are.

For those who have reached beyond the Perfection Stage, combat values are measured in the hundreds of thousands.

Some Perfection Stage Grandmasters can deliver attacks with explosive combat values up to 900,000. A single punch from them could pulverize an entire building.

Such power comes at a steep cost for a Grandmaster. Those with low Blood Qi might need to rest after just minutes of combat.

Humans, after all, aren’t machines. No matter how robust, everyone needs rest.

Yet, those with abundant Blood Qi can engage in battle for three straight days and nights without pause.

It’s said that those surpassing the Battle God level can nearly disregard Blood Qi altogether. They can fight relentlessly until death claims them in combat.

However, Pei Yu had never witnessed anyone of Battle God caliber. His understanding was limited to what he had learned from textbooks.

Now, with his Blood Qi making itself known, Pei Yu decided to step outside for a stroll.

Despite two days without sleep, he didn’t feel weary; on the contrary, he was brimming with vitality.

Moreover, his vision had sharpened several-fold. When he focused intently on an object, his eyes outperformed microscopes!

He could detect any shift within a ten-mile radius.

Such were the changes following his refinement of the dragon blood. His Blood Qi had emerged, his spirit was invigorated, and his strength had noticeably transformed.

Pei Yu was certain his combat value had soared!

Yet, to determine the extent of the increase, he needed to put it to the test.

Sky Tiger Mountain, the highest peak in N City, towered over two thousand meters.

He had heard tales of martial artists training their Blood Qi here, making it an ideal spot for a challenging climb.

Arriving at the base of the mountain, Pei Yu looked up, only to find the summit shrouded in mystery, hidden from view.

He was struck by the sheer height of Sky Tiger Mountain.

At that moment, a throng of tourists were making their ascent.

Pei Yu’s Blood Qi surged within him. With each step, he could cover dozens of meters, propelling him up the steps with ease.

“Dad, do you think it’s possible for someone to reach the peak in ten minutes?”

“That’s unthinkable! Not even a martial artist can move that fast.”

“I can’t wait to become a martial artist. Then I won’t get tired climbing mountains.”

Halfway up the mountain, a father and son duo sat resting by the trail, drenched in sweat. They had been climbing for two hours just to reach this point and were utterly spent.

But as the ten-year-old boy reached for his water bottle, it slipped from his grasp and tumbled to the ground, leaving him with a stunned look on his face.

“What’s wrong, Qifei? How could you drop it like that?” his father asked.

“Dad, would you believe me if I said someone could climb to the top in one minute?”

“Qifei, enough with the wild stories. Pick up your water bottle, will you?”

The father’s words were cut short as his own bottle slipped from his grasp. At the mountain’s base, he spotted a figure moving with the speed of a whirlwind.

A blur whizzed by them, leaving both father and son in awe.
