Chapter 34 Hospital Bed
Lee Seng woke up in a furious fit of coughs. He rolled over and covered his coughs as his lungs felt like burning coals. Rushed footsteps came towards Lee Seng as he continued to cough. He felt like something was stuck in his lungs.
"Chang, are you okay?" A woman asked. She grabbed Lee Seng and pulled him up. Lee Seng began to hit his chest.
"Water." He mustered out between coughs.
"Grab some water!" The woman shouted. Footsteps ran away and quickly came back with a glass of water.
"Here, drink." A man said. He put the cup up to Lee Seng's mouth and Lee Seng took a gulp. He coughed some water out but continued to drink. His chest felt like it the fire inside of him was being put out. He downed the glass and continue to cough a bit longer before he felt his lungs finally feel normal. Lee Seng took deep breaths and wiped his mouth.
He was sitting on a hospital bed. A blonde in a bob glanced at him on his right while a younger man with a undercut with red dyed hair was to his left.
"Chang, are you okay?" The woman asked. Lee Seng looked at her and then back at the young man. He couldn't see their name tags and nodded.
"W-who are you?" Lee Seng asked. The woman was taken aback by the question and readjusted herself.
"My name's Dr. Lizzie Fargo. This young man is my assistant, Dr. Stephen Castro." Dr. Fargo introduced. "We got a call during the Physical that you started to act weird towards the end of the Physical, so they called for medical back up."

"What's the last thing you remember?" Dr. Castro asked. Lee Seng glanced at Dr. Castro. His young looks threw Lee Seng off. He seemed to, maybe, only be in his twenties, almost mid-twenties. When Lee Seng didn't answer, Dr. Castro waved his hands. He snapped out of his stare and looked away.
"Uh, what do I remember?" Lee Seng repeated the question. Both doctors nodded. Lee Seng shifted in the bed and let out a huge breath. "I was doing the Physical. I managed to get onto the second-to-last floating platform by pulling it with my power and then slid off of it and towards the last one. I panicked and created the bubble that led me towards the last platform. As soon as I landed and stepped out, it popped and my body felt really tired and heavy."
Dr. Castro flicked at his wristwatch and a screen popped up in the air. He duplicated it and flicked it over to Lee Seng and Dr. Fargo. He began to scroll and landed on a picture. It was a grainy picture of Lee Seng. It looked like it was taken from afar.
"Do you remember this?" Dr. Fargo asked. "You were standing but your body was glowing. All of your veins in your body were glowing. Is this a by-product of you using your powers?" Lee Seng reached out of the picture and grabbed at nothing. The picture was zoomed in closer and he could slightly see the glow.
"Oh my god." Lee Seng cupped his mouth. "It did happen."
"One of the assistants tried to ask you questions but you weren't responding. She noticed your eyes were dilated. You weren't speaking and your eyes were dilated so she assumed something was happening. She told the Fighter lead that you were unfit to continue." Dr. Fargo explained. Lee Seng sighed and slicked his hair back with his hands.
"So did I even pass the Physical?"
"The Physical did end about thirty minutes ago. There's a meeting going on with all the examinees right now. I think you should rest and try again next time."
'I should try again next time?' Lee Seng shook his head and began to move.
"Woah, Chang you shouldn't move. You could still be under the effects of your negative or worse!" Dr. Castro shouted. He grabbed Lee Seng's shoulders and Lee Seng pushed the doctor away into the white curtain. Lee Seng stood up and began to walk when Dr. Fargo blocked him.
"Chang you need rest!" Dr. Fargo shouted. She raised her hands up to him and Lee Seng shook his head.
"I don't need rest. I need to continue. This is my only shot at this. If I don't do this, I'm never coming back." Lee Seng shouted. Dr. Fargo and Dr. Castro looked at Lee Seng in surprise.
"Still, you were acting abnormally and we need to make sure everything is fine."
"That's enough." A familiar voice said. Dr. Fargo and Dr. Castro looked up. Dr. Fargo looked to her right while Dr. Castro looked to his left. Lee Seng looked up towards his left and could see an older man standing at the entrance of the door.
"S-sir!" Dr. Fargo stuttered. She turned and glanced at Dr. Castro before turning towards the older man. Dr. Castro quickly passed by Lee Seng and stood next to Dr. Fargo.
"Sir, w-what brings you here?" Dr. Castro stuttered. The two bowed towards the familiar old man and Lee Seng smiled.
"Dr. Valentin, what're you doing here?" Lee Seng asked. He began to pass the two doctors who were looking at Lee Seng in confusion.
"You didn't even complete the Physical and you're already stirring up trouble, Lee Seng." Dr. Valentin scolded. Dr. Valentin stepped into the room and turned to look at the doctors. "You two may continue your duties. This one will be under my watch."
"S-sir, are you--" Dr. Casto began to say when Dr. Fargo jabbed him on his side. He turned to look at Dr. Fargo who was motioning for them to leave.
"It'll be fine. I've watched Lee Seng and understand Lee Seng better than anyone here."
"U-understand...?" Dr. Castro stuttered. Dr. Valentin nodded and looked at Lee Seng before looking at the two doctors again.
"You've heard that the Creator's son is coming as an examinee, correct?" Dr. Valentin asked. The two doctors nodded. Dr. Valentin motioned at Lee Seng. "This is the Creator's son, Lee Seng Chang." The doctors looked up at Lee Seng with surprise and embarrassment. They began to apologize for the way they acted and Lee Seng rolled his eyes at Dr. Valentin.
'I'm going to kill you.' Lee Seng mouthed before turning. He waved his hands at the two doctors. "It's alright, I'm glad you'd see me as a patient before anything else." Lee Seng bowed at the doctors. "Trust me, I'm fine. I can usually heal most injuries through my own body, so if I just fainted like you said earlier, I should be fine. Probably the negative getting to me after all the nerves spiked."
"Lee Seng is a good kid. I've been his primary doctor as his Father asked me. I'm simply making sure he's fine before I deal with other matters." Dr. Valentin said.
"Ah, if we'd known, we wouldn't have been too harsh. We will leave this to you, sir." Dr. Fargo nodded. She turned to look at Lee Seng and smiled. "We'll leave you with the Head Doctor, then. It was a pleasure, Chang." The two doctors waved good bye and Lee Seng waved. They walked towards the exit and nodded at Dr. Valentin before exiting. Lee Seng turned back towards Dr. Valentin who was still standing near the door.
"So, now what?" Lee Seng asked. "Can I continue?"
"I read the notes. You were glowing and not yourself. You sure you're fine to continue?" Dr. Valentin asked. Lee Seng nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Five." Lee Seng began to flex and hop side to side. He smiled at Dr. Valentin who watched him suspiciously. Dr. Valentin flicked his wrist watch and a holographic screen popped up. He tapped at the air and then scrolled. He was reading Lee Seng's file and then looked at Lee Seng who was still moving about like nothing had happened.
"Fine," Dr. Valentin sighed. "If you at ANY point start to experience any other weird symptoms, you're resting, got it?"
"Yeah, yeah." Lee Seng agreed. "If anything else happens, you can strap me into the bed and ignore my every plea." He smiled at Dr. Valentin who sighed and came over to Lee Seng. He grabbed Lee Seng and hugged him.
"You and my son are lucky, you know that? You two are too charismatic for you own good. Nine and Ten would kill me if they found out what I'm doing, so you better do well!" He pulled away from Lee Seng and pointed at him. Lee Seng nodded happily at Dr. Valentin who gripped Lee Seng's shoulder and shook him. "I'll take you to the meeting room. They should've already started the Power Assessment test. You'll probably be docked points for showing up late, but there's nothing we can do about that. They'll take you to a Power Orb as you didn't complete yours and just assess your PR (Power-Rating) there. You'll do the assessment and go onto the next one, got it?"
Lee Seng nodded and the two began to walk arm in arm towards the Power Assessment area.
