Chapter 16: Path to Lv 20
After getting used to his evolved body Ezekiel went out to start catching up on levels again.
He was not sure how far behind the average he was but he knew that lv10 was not it.
He spent hours that day leveling up as quickly as possible, with how much he used his spells a few actually managed to increase in tier.

After looking through options he eventually chose the shadow bolt and the fire bomb as his spells ability to bypass defenses was nice.
The farther he went the higher the levels of the enemies became until they actually went beyond the level range of the previous regions.
As he fought his way through the area he grew closer and closer to his goal of lv20.
At lv15 he saw nothing substantial as he had hoped but he could feel that lv20 would have something interesting.
His path eventually lead him into the next region.
By this time he was lv19.

His practice was paying off and now he could easily kill the wild cats in only a few spells, the buffalo still took a bit of effort but they were so slow it was like hunting crippled animals.
As the animals were stronger they seemed to be less crippled by the pain of shadow magic but they still seemed slowed by the pain.
While making his way into the next region he saw something that he did not expect.
In the distance he could see a city, it would be deep inside of the territory but he would slowly make his way there.
He also saw... players.
Well he could not see the players exactly but he could see the flashes of spells from the distance he was.
With this new discovery he was excited as he felt he was finally catching up.
What truly surprised him was that this area was so large and spread out that he could actually see the creatures that he would be hunting here.
Instead of some new species that took control of the area he saw roaving bands of all of the previous creatures, they would avoid one another but that was besides the point.
When he saw clashes between these creatures it was a horror of barbarism as the two packs went at one another.
It seemed that these clashes were what the players waited for as groups of them would approach the clashes beasts each time to wait for the victor.
What also shocked him was seeing the spawned creatures that would appear.
Occasionally groups of these creatures would flash into existence in the territory as mana particles visibly rebuilt them.
They would always spawn at lv20 in the area and group together again.
This was strange for him as he had previously seen the creatures only spawning in their own region.
In the distance he even saw something that truly shocked him.
Entire packs of the creatures fled without attacking one another as they were chased by... a slime.
A slime the size of a cottage.
Where it moved the grass was consumed and when he looked at the levels he was even more surprised.
The slime was only lv27 while the packs it was chasing had an average of lv36.
When using mana sense he saw something even more shocking.
Every creature had a core here but even more shocking was that this slime had five of them...
Five melon sized cores.
He had no idea why this slime had grown so large or had so many cores but he wanted to hunt it.
This slime looked like the perfect chance to gain large amounts of experience and it seemed other players agreed as they followed from a distance.
With his choice made Ezekiel began to make his way to that creature while killing creatures one pack at a time.
