Chapter 16: The Arrival of The Hope Society. The Good-for-Nothing Person Saved the World
George looked around confusedly. The surrounding trees were black because of the Dragon Breath.
"There aren't many green trees in the world after death."
He sighed.
The sound of horse hooves sounded from a distance, bringing up waves of dust.
George gazed at it confusedly. He instantly lost his composure and jumped up when he saw the figure coming out of the dust.
"Didn't I tell you to run? Why are you dead?"
Martin and the others in the crowd ahead were stunned. What was dead? Who was dead?
George also looked at Martin confusedly. He asked first when their distance was close enough, "How come you have horses in the world after death? And who are these people?"
He pointed at the dozen or so people in uniform behind Martin.
Martin stepped forward and touched George's head. "Are you okay? Look at the logo on their clothes carefully."
George looked at the dozen or so people with a bauhinia flower embroidered on their chest.
"The Hope Society?" George gasped. "So many people of the Hope Society are dead?"

Martin quickly spoke before the people of the Hope Society got impatient, "George, you're not dead. You're still alive!"
George looked a little confused. He recalled his last memory about a group of Vengeful Wraiths surrounding William.
"I, I'm not dead? Did you chase away the Vengeful Wraiths?"
"Okay, okay!" A woman frowned and interrupted the conversation between George and Martin. She said impatiently, "Don't talk to me about such meaningless things! Where are the Vengeful Wraiths?"
Everyone looked around. There was only the body of a vengeful spirit that had lost its head not far away.
Of course, they did not know that the Vengeful Wraiths had been burned to ashes by William. It was difficult to distinguish them from the ashes of the trees.
"There's only one vengeful spirit, and you're telling me about a race? You made me think that the Vengeful Wraiths were going to attack Fort Vienna!" The woman lectured them in dissatisfaction.
Martin did not dare to talk back. The woman was from the Hope Society, not something an ordinary teacher like him could compare. Moreover, her strength was also at the Earth Rank.
"Send a few people to escort them to the nearest military camp. The rest of you, search the surroundings." The woman waved her hand and decided.
George put away the Ice Field Snow Wolf, picked up William, and then took a horse. He followed Martin and the others and left in the direction of the military camp.
The rest of the people started to look around.
"Catherine! We found something!"
A man dressed in the Hope Society uniform shouted at the woman.
He stood in front of the headless corpse of the Vengeful Wraith's leader and waited for Catherine to approach him bore saying, "I've checked just now. That is an Earth Rank Vengeful Wraith's leader. There are some Fire Elements in the beheaded part. It must have been killed by some Fire Element Supernal Rank."
"Earth Rank?" Catherine frowned. She was also an Earth Rank expert and understood the strength of an Earth Rank. It was not something that a Supernal Rank could contend against even if they had just stepped into the Earth Rank. They were on two completely different levels.
"The strongest one was only at the peak of the Supernal Rank among those people just now, right?" Catherine seemed to be asking, but in fact, she was talking to herself. Her subordinates were also used to this habit of hers and did not speak to disturb Catherine's thoughts.
"The poison on that guy named George just now seems to have disappeared. The situation doesn't seem like what Vengeful Wraiths would do. They are best at poisons, aren't they? Was it someone passing by who saved them?" Catherine suddenly raised her head. She remembered something. She quickly looked at the others and asked, "Earl Vienna sent quite some people to explore the wilderness with adventurers. They all set out in secret. Are there any Fire Elemental Supernal Rank among them?"
"Well, there should be. I heard that they send quite some people," the man answered guiltily. How could he, a member of the lowest rank in the Hope Society, know about such a thing?
"Perhaps they are the people sent by Earl Vienna! You guys continue to investigate. If there are traces of Vengeful Wraiths nearby, annihilate them immediately! I'm going back to the military camp. I want to question those people!"
Catherine got on her horse and went quickly in the direction of the military camp.
..
William could not pretend anymore before they reached the military camp.
George placed him horizontally in front of the saddle. His waist was feeling the bumpiness of the road that it almost broke. He could only open his eyes and pretend that he had just woken up.
"You're awake? How do you feel?"
George's caring words made William feel that he did not put him there on purpose.
William held his head and pretended that he did not know anything.
"Where am I? In the world after death?"
George's expression froze. Although William was unconscious when George said those words just now, he still felt awkward when he heard about the world after death. He felt so embarrassed that he could find a hole to hide.
William felt much more comfortable upon seeing that George's hair was standing on end. That was for making his waist hurt!
"William, why did you get out of the car without permission?"
Martin's blaming voice came from not far away.
He could not help but be angry. George had risked his life and bought them time to escape. In the end, the student had run back by himself. Martin would not be able to escape from the crime of failing to take care of the students if something happened.
There was even a possibility that someone might have guessed that he had deliberately left the student behind to lure away the Vengeful Wraiths.
"Alright, stop blaming him," George spoke up for William. "He was also trying to help me. It's fine."
"What kind of help? He got off the car without permission! He's a burden!" Martin said in a bad mood. "He's a low-class good-for-nothing Endowed Supernatural Ability, and he's still trying to be a hero!"
"That's right. A good-for-nothing person should just stay as he is if he's a low-class, and stop pretending to be a savior!" Sam was also mocking and ridiculing him. He was very uncomfortable about it. He was so scared by the claws of a vengeful spirit that he almost wet his pants. In the end, William got off the car and went back to help.
Although the other two girls didn't say anything, Sam could see from their look that they respected William. That made it even more difficult for him to accept the fact. At such time, he had to use all he could to mock William so that he could vent his anger, of course.
More importantly, William didn't die. He was prepared to split the bag of Five-Legged Flame Lizard's skins. In the end, the owner came back, so them dividing the spoils could only be forgotten.
That was a lot of gold coins!
William put up with whatever Martin said. But Sam blamed him too. William's face turned cold, and he said to Sam, "Are you hostile to people who are braver than you?"
Sam's facial expression changed, and he said nervously, "Why should I be hostile to you? I just don't like you."
William said, "So you're using this method to excuse your cowardice? Let me see, did the little cutie pee in his pants?"
"Pfft!" Shirley couldn't hold it in and laughed out loud.
Even Jones, who had always been cold, smirked.
Sam's face blushed, but he couldn't speak for himself.
Martin rolled his eyes at William when he saw that his student was humiliated.
