Chapter 211: My Alter Ego

Things happened so quick, and I am surprised that my body can even move like that since I never tried doing so. Most of all, the restoration of my lost limbs is one of the things that I didn't expect. All I know in the dragon's power given to me by the dragon is that it was a power that allows a part of my body to assume a dragon form and use the power of a dragon to an extent. I used it once before but I didn't use it again as it takes too much toll on my body.

However, I don't understand how my alter ego managed to do the feats he have done using my body. I am quite sure I am not able to do those feats if I am the one performing it. Then how come this one can outperform what I can do?

After ripping the Seiryuu to shards like it was nothing, the alter ego returned to the room I was in and grinned.

"There, nice and done."

"What the f*ck did you just do?"

"What, that is just the most basic thing I can do using your existing abilities. You are not able to maximize all of the potential on your body, no?"

"Do you really think I will buy that bullsh*try you are spouting? I know my limits and I am aware of what I am capable and not capable. I am sure that you have done that using your own power!"

"Hehe, of course it is my power. After all, I performed it so that you can see that things are different when you and I uses the same power but different result."

Before I can retaliate and answer him back, he pushed me on my back and wave his arms.

"Go now, I am tired so don't disturb me," my alter ego said before he goes to sleep on a couch."

I wanted to stop him at first but all of a sudden, a heavy feeling started to loom on my body before I was overcome on it and my vision of the place slowly faded. It was just split seconds before I opened my eyes and noticed that I am back to my body. Before me is the disintegrating body of Seiryuu that slowly transformed to specks of light. My body also slowly descended to the ground where the kid that supervise the trials is now here.

"It looks like I have underestimated you despite looking at your body is not yet ready but you just hid it very well for me to notice. But since you have cleared both the trials of Genbu and Seiryuu, their inheritance will also be for you to get too. Get ready and receive them."

The inheritance of the two divine beasts appeared before me as they slowly float towards me. After preparing for accepting them, the kid wave his fingers and the two inheritance swiftly dash towards my head in which also activated my absorption of the two powers.

"Guh!" It was sudden and painful but I managed to hold in the pain. It lasted for a few seconds before it settled down and I can feel the power of the four divine beasts inside my body. Now, I hold all of their powers.

"Now that you are holding all of the inheritance of the divine beasts, you are now a possible candidate to inherit the power of the golden dragon, Kohryu. However, to do so, you need to master and skillfully learn all of the powers of the four divine beasts. Until the time you do so, you cannot take the last trial. Now, then, I will heal your wounds, and you can return to the present time. Until we meet again."

In just a blink of an eye, I returned to reality and only a few seconds passed by after I went to the trials. I checked my abilities if I am not dreaming and if I really have inherited all of the powers of the new divine beasts, Genbu and Seiryuu. And indeed it didn't disappoint as two new spells that are previously not in my memories are now imprinted in my mind, allowing me to learn it without practice.

The power I got from Genbu is the ability, [Bubble Sphere], a defensive spell that covers my whole body in a sphere made of water, and protecting me from attacks. It can be said that this was a direct upgrade to my first Defensive Spell, [Domain of Balmung] though this one is only capable of casting one shield and only protects the caster unlike the latter one which can be used to every target.

On Seiryuu's power, I finally gained the first ability related to the Wind Element. It is the [Wind Blades]. You will be able to materialize a concentrated air that is able to cut and kill in your hands ans throw them like shurikens to enemies. I can release 6 blades at once and one blade can cut little trees in one blade.

While I was testing out the newly acquired abilities, Blue started speaking again.

"Huh? Kazuma? How come you have new magic spells already? Did you learn and improvise them? How come I didn't detect it until a few seconds ago?" Blue asked in confused tone.

I understand Blue's confusion since on the perspective of everyone including Blue, I am sitting there on where I was for a few seconds before I awakened again. 

"I already conquered the two trials remaining. I have the inheritance of Genbu and Seiryuu now in my body."

"What? That doesn't make sense, you just sat down on the tree stump and bam! You have earned the inheritance! Are you trying to pull my leg Kazuma?"

"You don't have a leg."

"I want to strangle you..."

To avoid angering Blue, I quickly explained in detail what happened and how I managed to earn the inheritance after sitting down to the stump.

"So basically, that magatama in your hands acts as a pocket dimension for the trials eh? That is an interesting artifact if you ask me though I have not seen this kind of artifact my whole life."

"Anyways, if I can master all of the inheritances to the maximum potential, then I can get to challenge the final trial which is the trial of Kohryu."

"That is the central beast of the four celestial beasts. To think you will be able to have a chance to challenge the great dragon Kohryu."

"Which is why I will use my time in this world to master the spells so that when I am back to the real world, I am no longer a weak individual that will fall against the enemies, protecting everyone that are dear to me."

At that moment, the gears has started to turn as war is slowly but surely form and the role I will perform in that particular war.
