Chapter 596 - 595: The Disaster that Could Destroy the World
Chapter 596: Chapter 595: The Disaster that Could Destroy the World
Jiang Li recalled that the Emperor Hou Tu once explained that there were eight fundamental rules in the universe, with all things operating according to these rules.
Among these eight rules, three of them—spatial regulation, time regulation, and probability regulation—are related to our current discussion.
These three principally correspond to the Ten Thousand Realms, the River of Time, and the Center of Possibility.
“The subjects of my research are quite superficial compared to what the Dominators are working on, which is far more profound.”
“When we observed your world from the Void, we noticed a huge hole in it. Do you know how it came about?”
Talking about this, the President of the Meteor organization became visibly nervous, using some techniques to temporarily block the surveillance from the three Dominators.
He lowered his voice and said, “That incident occurred before I was born. All I know is that it happened over six hundred years ago when an enormous world was about to collide with ours. Then something happened, and the two worlds just brushed past each other, leaving a gaping hole like something had scooped out a piece.”
The President of the Meteor organization then carved out half of a watermelon with a spoon. “It was kind of like this.”
“It was a great catastrophe which affected more than a hundred Mother Stars. Everybody in that area died.”
“The three Dominators have forbidden anyone to talk about this incident.”
“I gained this knowledge indirectly from my predecessors, but they didn’t know much either. Furthermore, those who witnessed the disaster during the Body Integration Realm all went mad. The only ones who know the whole process are the three Dominators.”
“My grandfather was a survivor of that catastrophe. Upon his return, he began to utter incoherent words constantly, repeating that this doesn’t follow the laws and the world was going to be destroyed.”
“When I asked him for more details, he just kept repeating those two sentences.”
“And him now…”

“He’s dead. He committed suicide.” The President of Meteor spoke with no hint of sadness, but rather full of puzzlement.
However, there are many mysteries in the world. Otherwise, the three Dominators wouldn’t have so many topics to study. They claim to be observers, constantly observing to solve all unsolved mysteries, right?
He always believed that there was no mystery that couldn’t be solved. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
If it can’t be solved now, it just means that the observed data are not enough.
“Do you know where the three Dominators are?”
The President of Meteor shook his head: “No idea. The three Dominators are difficult to trace. They only appear when someone is promoted to the Body Integration Realm, or a new project is completed, or when a great demon crosses the boundary.”
“But in ten days, someone will fulfil the criteria to become a Body Integration Realm cultivator, and Dominator Entropy will hold a promotion ceremony at the First Mother Star.”
The President of Meteor gave them an address.
…
“This spaceship is incredibly expensive. It costs enough for one to become a Gold Core Period cultivator.” Bai Hongtu mourned over the price of the spaceship ticket.
Jiang Li rolled his eyes: “Didn’t you say the spaceship is novel and you wanted to try it? Now you are complaining about the ticket price. If you still think it’s expensive, we three can tear apart the space and travel to the First Mother Star right now.”
Yu Yin also added: “Also, the money spent on the ticket isn’t yours.”
When Bai Hongtu suggested taking a spaceship, the President of Meteor generously provided the money for the tickets.
The three of them were sitting in the VIP cabin. Upon hearing Bai Hongtu’s complaint, someone laughed and said: “Of course there’s a reason for the high ticket price.”
“I’m known as Growth. Is this your first time travelling through a spatial passage?”
“Indeed.”
“The expensive ticket really has nothing to do with the spaceship. It’s because of the cost of traveling through the spatial passage. These passages exert a great pulling force and only with energy barriers can one ensure safe travel. Also, spatial passages are built with a Star Nucleus as the foundation, which is quite costly to construct and maintain.”
The Observer’s World connects countless spatial passages. As long as one can afford it, they can freely travel to other planets.
If one can’t afford it, I’m sorry, you can only wander around your Mother Star.
The spaceship is a Gold Core Period cultivator’s body. As it speaks, the spaceship starts up, and the ship’s captain opens the barrier.
The three of them saw a light curtain straight ahead which was clearly a man-made creation: a fixed spatial passage.
“The spatial passage is still not stable enough. A truly stable space passage wouldn’t exert a pulling force.”
Jiang Li used his Divine Sense to scan it, finding that the pulling force of the light curtain was enough to severely injure a Gold Core Period cultivator.
In contrast, the spatial passages established by the Fairy Ban Tian Ta were so safe that even mortals could freely travel through them without any danger.
Growth said, “This is already the limit. Although technology is limitless, human wisdom isn’t. For now, the three Dominators haven’t found a better way.”
“We could renovate this thing and take it to our place.” Bai Hongtu saw that the spatial passage here had ample room for improvement.
Before the upgrade, the Fairy Ban Tian Ta could only maintain twenty spatial passages. Ten slots were used within the Nine Provinces to enhance communication, and the other ten slots were used to connect to other worlds.
Even now, when the Fairy Ban Tian Ta can maintain forty spatial passages, it’s still too few for the Nine Provinces.
If the spatial passages of the Observer’s World could be improved to have no pulling force or instability, then the world of the Nine Provinces could freely build their own passages without any quantitative restrictions, achieving true distance-free communication.
This would mean that the forty spatial passages could be used to connect to other worlds.
“It’s a pity that these spatial passages here can’t reach across the Void to connect with other worlds.”
The difficulty of constructing an inter-dimensional spatial passage and an inter-universal spatial passage is tens of times different. To attempt the latter, it must at least have some connection with ‘Immortality’, such as the Immortal Artifact Fairy Ban Tian Ta or the Ascension Ladder.
Having nothing else to do, Jiang Li chatted with Growth who was sitting next to him. They had a delightful conversation, with Jiang Li occasionally inquiring about the three Dominators.
“I’m just a scientist who doesn’t know anything about the three Dominators. I came to the First Mother Star to participate in an academic conference.” Growth spread his hands, indicating he was just an ordinary scientist.
The spaceship drove towards the curtain of light, disappearing from the Ninth Mother Star’s light curtain, crossing ten thousand light years, and reappearing from the First Mother Star’s light curtain.
“Who are these people?” The female flight attendant screamed, but was violently shoved away.
The hooligans rushed into the VIP cabin, shouting sharply, “Don’t move! Anybody who moves—I’ll kill you!”
The hooligans, at the Nascent Soul Stage and all made of metal, shape-shifted their arms. Their fists contracted, forming black gun barrels.
They lit up the nuclear power in their chests, charged their gun barrels, ready to strike, and threatened the captain: “If you want to live, contact the government for me!”
The captain had no choice but to do as he was told when facing these desperadoes.
Soon, the hologram of a government official appeared in the cabin.
“State your demand.”
Two of the hooligans put their arms around the passengers, aimed their barrels at their heads, and threatened, “Release my big brother quickly. If we don’t see my brother being released within half an hour, we’ll kill these two hostages first!”
“What are your names?” The hooligan prodded the two hostages’ heads with his gun barrels.
“I’m Jiang Li.”
“I’m Bai Hongtu.”
The two hostages confessed obediently.
“Yes. If my big brother isn’t released, I will first kill Jiang Li and Bai Hongtu. Is that woman your companion? I will kill her too!” These hooligans thought these passengers, who could travel across space, must be rich or noble. Those in the VIP cabin must be the highest ranking among all the passengers onboard, making them the perfect targets to threaten the government.
The two hostages were trembling with fear.
Yu Yin was eating sunflower seeds, showing extreme concern for the safety of the two hostages.
