Chapter 350 - Tempering Day And Night: Breakthrough!
"Sect Master, I need to ask for your help."
When those words sounded, all the Elders shifted their attention at Senior Lin on the side, who at first seemed confused but quickly calmed down and after bowing deeply, said, "Disciple Khal... After all the things you have done for us and saved this sect from destruction, even if you ask me to hand my title as the Sect Master to you I would not hesitate! So tell me what you want and I will act immediately!"
"Huh?" all the Elders and even Khal looked dumbfounded after hearing the words Senior Lin just said, as they found her words and behavior a little bit... overdramatic.
Handing over her title because she was saved from someone that threatened their lives? Sure, it was understandable to feel gratitude and respect toward him, and even the urge to give him something in exchange for his heroic deed, but going so far as to say such a thing like this... it was rather absurd, wasn't it?
Senior Lin seemed to feel the thoughts of the people around her thus raised her head slightly and while focusing on Khal's face, she spoke calmly, "Don't misunderstand me, I didn't go insane nor do I feel the urge to be theatrical, I just simply do and say the right things that must be said and done after such situation."
She then shifted her gaze at the Elders on her side and with a slightly colder complexion than when she stared at Khal, asked, "Or what? Don't you feel and think the same as me? Don't you feel shame that you, the seemingly strongest individuals in this sect failed to protect the walls of your home and had to depend on a sole disciple's strength to survive? If I were you, I would reconsider if I still should carry the title of Sect Elder or not."
The words of Senior Lin were akin to cold water dropping down right on their heads in the middle of a cold winter, forcing them to realize that what they have just heard was indeed the truth and the way they thought so far was naive and stupid.
Indeed, if it was not for the young man in front of them that came just in time to save their lives, who else could have had the power to resist the assault of the several hundreds of Third and Fourth Stage experts together with a peak Fifth Stage being a few moments ago?
They should have been the ones protecting this sect as they were the Elders and not Khal, yet they failed miserably, without even the tiniest of a chance to act as they were surpassed and looked down on as ants from the very first second they have appeared here!

They failed miserably and Senior Lin's words made perfect sense; they should really reconsider calling themselves the Elders of this Sect.
As for the very reason why all of this happened, who cared about that? This was a world filled with unfairness and harshness, where the strong ruled and the weak obeyed!
No one cared if everything that happened was because Khal offended the Night Crawler Race before coming here or not, what mattered was if they were able to stand their ground when reality hit hard and survive or fall miserably. And as far as they could see it, they have fallen miserably, no question about it!
As the realization hit them, all the Elders turned toward Senior Lin and after kneeling down onto the ground, they pushed their heads onto the ground one by one, showing that they recognized their mistakes and wished to be forgiven.
Senior Lin seeing this looked cold for a small while before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath to calm herself down.
"Stand up. I won't take away any of your ranks as Elder of this sect, but you will still be punished, including me too as I can be blamed just as much as you if not more. Even though I am the Sect Master with the greatest responsibility, I failed to protect this sect and no one can deny that fact."
As she said those words, Senior Lin turned to look at Khal and bowed once again, "That is why, if you wish to become the master of this sect, you just need to say one word, nothing else."
The whole place fell into complete silence when that happened, while Khal looked at Senior Lin with eyes as one would look at a complete idiot or at someone they didn't know what to do.
Become the master of this sect? What? He has no wish such as that nor did have such a desire in the past as currently, he has a much greater ambition than that. Maybe in the future, yes, but even if such a day comes where he decides to become a Sect Master, then it would be in his own sect which he created through his own efforts and not by stealing it away from someone else.
Also, let's not talk about the responsibilities and works that come with such a title... He was just way too young for those kinds of things, and Senior Lin was more than perfect to hold that position than him!
Thinking about this, Khal showed a bittersweet smile and said calmly, "Sect Master, I don't wish to become the master of this sect nor do I want anything ridiculous in exchange for me helping kill those weaklings, as I would have ended their lives sooner or later, I just hope you can get me these items."
"Huh?" Senior Lin raised her head in surprise, completely ignoring the part where Khal called the Night Crawlers as weaklings and stared at the piece of paper in his hand with widened eyes.
"This... Do you wish to use this to temper your body?" Senior Lin asked after she calmed down and inspected the names of the items on Khal's list.
Khal nodded and after showing a slight smile asked, "Do you think it is possible for you to get these items for me?"
Senior Lin looked up and down between the list and Khal in silence a few times before she jumped up onto her feet all of a sudden and showed a proud smile, "Believe me, if it's just something like this, I will get you twice... No! Thrice the amount you currently want! I promise!"
Khal's smile widened more when he heard the response and said with a voice holding joy, "I see, then I will leave this matter to you."

After the incident that happened before Moon Sect, more than a week has passed in a blink, and under that amount of time Khal was given a prestige that was akin to the Elders but because of his still lacking Cultivation Base, he was still just a Core Disciple.
However, that was soon to be changed as of right inside his residence, inside his bathtub, after tempering his body day and night without stopping, Khal finally reached the well-awaited bottleneck, keeping him only a single step away from breaking into the Fourth Cultivation Stage and becoming an official Limit Breaker!
"Here comes nothing!" Khal told to himself calmly, and after tossing several items from his spatial ring into the water he was in that was blacker than ink, he took a deep breath and without any further hesitation sunk below its surface.
