Chapter 40: White Uniform

Chapter 40: White Uniform

“Splendid job kid! You have grown way over my expectations!”, Logan clapped his hands gently as he walked to Khal’s side.

Glancing at all the 222 Treasure Stones around Khal, Logan smiled and held the white uniform out before his chest.

“Here. This is now rightfully yours.”

As Khal saw that Logan was waiting for him to take away the uniform, Khal struggled to get up onto his feet and stood before his teacher.

Seeing Logan’s wide smile, Khal smiled too, and with a tired bow, he took away the uniform.

“Thank you very much, Master!”

“Haha!”, laughed Logan and as he waved his hands around gently, he said, “You deserved it no question. Also, please don’t call me Master when we are alone. You must show respect and I prohibit you from calling me on my name before others, but here, you can call me just simply Logan.”

Listening to this, Khal nodded in silence.

Logan seeing that Khal understood what he meant, nodded too and turned around.

“Now then, I must go. You can do whatever you want for the time being. I will find you when I need you.”

“Wait, what? You will leave just like this?”, asked Khal with widened eyes, as he watched Logan’s departing figure.

However, Logan just raised his hand and waved it around, while saying, “You did a great job today, so just rest. Tomorrow I will find you personally and we will begin your Cultivation.”

After he said that, Logan vanished into thin air, leaving Khal all alone next to the lake in nothing more but a single wet underwear.

“…”

Looking at the uniform in his hand, Khal glanced at the stones he brought up and thought, “Should I throw these back before I leave?”

But as he thought about this, he just shook his head and thought, “No, not now. My body feels extremely heavy right now, so if I try to use even a portion of my remaining Essence, I will collapse for sure. Let’s rest instead for a bit.”

As Khal thought about this, sat back down onto the soft ground and waited patiently for the water on his body to get dried up by the blazing sun above his head.

Minutes ticked by in silence, and after Khal waited for more than half an hour, he looked at his body.

“Okay.”

Examining his body and noticing that he was finally completely dry, Khal stood up and grabbed his uniform.

Glancing at the snow-white color with its golden symbols that went down the shoulder and arm part, Khal looked amazed.

Even the trouser had golden symbols on their sides, making them to perfectly go with the upper part of the uniform.

However, what amazed Khal the most was the moment when he put the uniform on. The clothing was not only incredibly comfortable, but it made Khal feel that it gave him some kind of indescribable protection.

Punching and kicking in the air, Khal felt that the combat in this clothing was also much better than in his old one, which made him quite happy.

“Great. Seems perfect.”, said Khal with a smile and looked at his old clothes on the ground.

Picked them up in silence, Khal glanced at the stones on the ground and thought, “My body still feels sour, I guess I will come back later. As for the time being…”

Glancing toward the inner part of Moon Academy, Khal already had a plan in his head for what he should do, but he had a single problem.

“Where is the library?”

***

After spending almost a full hour just in the hope to find the library, which ended up all in vain, Khal stopped below a tree and sighed.

“Not only is there no signs to tell which building is the library, but no one is around to help me either. It’s like everyone vanished into thin air.”, murmured Khal calmly as he looked at his empty proximity.

He even tried to go inside one of the buildings just to ask where it was, but when he tried, he found out that all the doors were locked.

“Now what? The whole Academy suddenly turned into a ghost town.”, thought Khal as he looked deep in thought.

However, before he could have thought about anyone, his eyes widened abruptly, but not because of shock, but because of joy.

Suddenly from his right, he noticed as several students appeared at the corner of a building and started to walk toward his direction with an expert on the front.

However, the moment Khal realized who the expert was, his happiness vanished instantly and turned indifferent.

“It’s her…”, thought Khal calmly as he looked at Scarlett and her students walking before him.

“And just as I have thought. Only I have such a uniform…”, thought Khal, as he noticed that all the people behind Scarlett were wearing a similar-looking outfit as him, but with the only difference that their uniforms were black and not white.

“Just why did I got a white-colored uniform? Is there a special reason?”

While Khal was thinking about reasons why Logan would give him a white uniform instead of a black one, Scarlett and her disciples arrived before him and looked at him in silence.

“Well, whatever. At least she must know where the library could be, so let’s ask her.”

With that thought, Khal cupped his hands before his chest and bowed politely.

“Respected Elder, I need your help. Where can I find the library?”

Looking at Khal in silence, Scarlett started to frown instantly.

It wasn’t because of what Khal asked, but because of the uniform on him. Maybe Khal didn’t know it, but she was clear about what the white uniform truly meant and the weight behind its meaning.

“Did he go insane? Just what did he think giving him this uniform?”

Khal, who was still in a bowing position, noticing that he was not getting any reply at all, raised his head and looked at Scarlett with a questioning look.

Scarlett felt as Khal started to look at her, so pointed toward the direction she just came from and said, “Go straight then after the 3rd building turn left. If you go straight for a small while, you will be able to find it at the 4th building. It is only a 5 minutes walk.”

When Khal heard the answer, his eyes brightened up instantly and bowed once again.

“Thank you very much, Respected Elder!”

Immediately after he said his thanks, he turned around and with hurried steps, he started to walk toward the direction where the library was.

Watching Khal’s departing figure in silence, Scarlett thought for a small while, but in the end, she still just sighed and turned around.

“Let’s go.”

Immediately, all the cultivators behind her turned around too and like soldiers following their leader, they started to follow her without saying a single word.

Or to be more accurate, all moved, except for the twin-tailed beauty. After Scarlett and the other students moved, she was still standing where she was and looked at Khal’s back with a thoughtful expression.

While she was in deep of her unknown thoughts, suddenly Scarlett’s voice sounded from behind her, making her petite figure to flinch slightly.

“I said, let’s go.”

“My apologies!”, answered Ella hurriedly, and after looking at Khal for one last time she turned around and ran toward Scarlett.

While Scarlett and her students were walking toward the outer part of Moon Academy, until then, Khal was walking hurriedly on the path that Scarlett had just told him.

And exactly as she told, it didn’t take Khal long to arrived before the searched building.

But just as he have thought, when he stood before the building he didn’t see any sign that should indicate that he was in the right place.

“So this should be the library. The building looks exactly the same as any of the other ones.”, thought Khal with a deep sigh as he put his hand on the door and pushed it slowly open.
