Chapter 268 268 – She Know
The dragon woman raised her hands to chest height. "I will not harm you and your family. I need to talk to you."
Finally, Ritor opened the door wider, then Velvet entered. The minotaur general checked the surroundings before closing the door.
"What do you want?" Ritor immediately sat in the guest chair.
The dragon woman sat across from Ritor, intertwined her fingers, and rested her chin on them. "I know someone with the same power as me, and I know who it is."
The veins on Ritor's face began to tense up. "I don't understand what you mean."
"I'm not here to fight." The former prophet did not wear armor. "We can discuss this."
Ritor brought his face closer to the woman. "Please, don't take too long. My patience is running out."
Velvet fell silent, looking deep into Ritor's eyes. "We still have to tell this to Lord Vorn."
Silence. Ritor lowered his head with heavy breathing.
"I will keep your son safe to the best of my ability. As lord Vorn's wife, I can persuade him." The dragon lady continued. "But before that, I want to tell you this first."
The minotaur shook his head. His eyes were coated with clear liquid, something he rarely shows. "No, even those closest to him cannot predict his actions. A prophet would be destined to become the nemesis of the demon lord. Have you ever read about other prophets who are not like that?"
"You are Lord Vorn's most loyal subordinate, right? You never questioned his orders and always tried to carry them out properly." Velvet rubbed her face. "Please, let me talk to Lord Vorn about this before the others find out. He changed the course of destiny by making me join him, even become his wife."

Ritor lifted his face. "No."
The minotaur general strangled Velvet and lifted her up.
"Please, Ritor." Velvet didn't fight back even though she was in pain and out of breath. "I-I don't want to fight you."
After taking the communication book from the former prophet's pants, Ritor threw that woman across the room. Her back hit the wall hard, and her body fell to the floor.
"Lana!!!" The minotaur general shouted. "We're leaving now…."
Lana had emerged from inside the house and threw a backpack at Ritor while carrying her own.
"Let's go." Lana held tightly to her son, who miraculously didn't cry and no longer had the halo above his head.
Those two immediately left the house, leaving Velvet, who had just stood up.
"Ritor!" The former prophet chased after the couple. "You are only making things worse!"
"All of you!" Ritor pointed at the minotaurs sitting by the roadside. "Block Velvet! It's an order!"
They flinched but still confronted the former prophet. Velvet was forced to stop.
"Get out of the way." The prophet's teeth chattered. "I need to speak to your leader. You know the consequences for fighting me, right?"
"General Ritor's orders are absolute." One of them said, already using the stance, ready to fight. "I can not let you, my lady."
The former prophet knows. These horned figures will fight her no matter what, and they will receive severe punishment. She didn't want them to be like that without knowing anything.
Several other minotaurs approached the former prophet.
Taking a deep breath, Velvet massaged her forehead. She didn't want a big commotion either.
"Then you guys must have a communication book, right?" Velvet asked. "Can I borrow it, please?"
The minotaurs glanced at each other, and one of them handed that thing to the former prophet.
"Thanks. Excuse me, and don't follow me." Velvet walked away from them while grimacing. Her back hurt, but she was sure that Ritor was holding back. If he wanted to, the minotaur general would have thrown Velvet to the point of breaking the wall.

[Vorn's POV]
Wanting to be in a different situation, I went to Rilla at the lake together with Xenora.
"Hey Rilla, long time no see." I greeted the aquatic general. She was swimming with her subordinates, who looked very hideous.
"Welcome, my lord." Rilla's voice came from a metal funnel on the lake's edge. That thing is a two-way communication tool for us and the aquatic creatures. "You're not with another man, are you? I want to show you something."
"No, Rilla," Xenora answered. "There's only me."
"Thanks for the information, Xenora." Rilla swam to the shore of the lake.
The mermaid came out of the lake, crawled to the ground, and smiled at me.
And before long, her lower body and ears glowed a bright blue. When the light disappeared, those things were replaced with regular legs and ears like humans.
"Excellent." I stared at her smooth legs.
She then got up while covering her femininity. I approached her and touched her wet shoulder. She put up no resistance at all and widened her smile.
"Should I leave you alone with Rilla, my lord?" Xenora asked.
I rubbed the mermaid's hair which was also wet. "Unfortunately, I'm in a state where I can't do that."
"You can do the other things, right?" Xenora smiled. "You want to relieve your boredom and fatigue, but with something different. So, this is the perfect opportunity."
Rilla turned her head to the now-empty lake. It seemed she had asked her subordinates to get to the bottom or go along the passage that led to the river.
Damn. She wanted this, too, huh?
Without waiting for my approval, Xenora started to back off.
I put my face close to Rilla's, and she closed her eyes, looking ready for what to do with her.
And right at that time, my communication book rang. I let out a disappointed sigh. No one dares to contact me if it's not something important.
"Sorry, Rilla." I took out the book while the mermaid shrugged, though still smiling.
I found the word [unknown] on the book's page, indicating that I didn't save the code from the book that contacted me.
"Who is this?" I picked up the call.
"This is Velvet, my lord. I have crucial information."
"What? Why are you using someone's book?
"That's a long story." She sighed. "It's…. Lana and Ritor's child is a prophet, my lord."
Instantly, I felt like my legs were losing energy. It took a while for me to respond. "No, you're lying."
"This is true, my lord. I still can't believe it, either. There was a glowing halo on Ethan Jr's head."
