Chapter 3:
Chapter 3:
“Whoa!”
The horses stopped, and the people on them got off. Jin Cheon-hee observed each of them closely.
Their blue-coloured military uniform had a dragon emblem embroidered on the chest.
A muscular middle-aged man who appeared to be over 2 meters tall was at the forefront, looking to be in his 50s. He had no beard and a fairly clean appearance.
He was so muscular that he looked like a bear.
He habitually stroked the sword at his waist with his hand.
It was a thick sword without a scabbard.
‘Isn’t that a willow-leaf sword? Oh, now that I think about it, the dragon emblem weapon that appeared in front of the Supreme Demon King was also a willow-leaf sword….’
A willow-leaf sword.
It was a thick weapon that meant a sword with a blade shaped like a willow leaf. The head of the sword was shaped like a willow leaf, and it became thinner and thinner towards the handle.
It often appears in martial arts novels and also frequently seen in martial arts dramas, so Jin Cheon-hee recognized it easily.
The only difference was that the willow-leaf sword of this muscular middle-aged man was larger and thicker than those of other warriors.
‘The Cloud Dragon Escort were even wearing uniforms. It was amazing to see it with my own eyes.’
As he watched them, they finally noticed Jin Cheon-hee.
Jin Cheon-hee and his tent were located slightly to the left of the incident site, so it seemed that they could not find Jin Cheon-hee at once.
“Master! There are survivors!”
‘What… What is this language? I’ve never heard of it before… Why can I understand it?’
‘Now that I think about it, I could even understand the murmuring sound of the hairy patient.’
Jin Cheon-hee, who was looking at the swordsman who was pointing at him with a confused expression, realized that everyone was looking at him.
The sole survivor. And he’s a boy with blood on his hands.
“Check if there are any more injured!”
The muscular giant who Jin Cheon-hee saw earlier roared and moved towards him.
Although his gait seemed ordinary, he covered three meters in one stride. Jin Cheon-hee was very surprised by his appearance.
“Oh my, what is this?”

Whether he was shocked or not, the huge man stood tall in front of Jin Cheon-hee. He looked at him as he swallowed his saliva.
‘Wow, he’s really big… He probably won’t hit me, right?’
As he was thinking that, he heard the other person muttering. Even though it wasn’t in Korean, Jin Cheon-hee could understand everything he said.
“I don’t think we’ve ever hired someone like this kid before…”
Instinctively feeling a sense of shrinkage, he looked up at him, but the man bent his knees and lowered his body.
However, the man was still so big that he had to look up, Jin Cheon-hee’s neck hurt a little.
“Young boy. I am the owner of the Cloud Dragon Escort Bureau, Woon Ji-sang.”
The giant smiled quite softly and spoke. Jin Cheon-hee was inwardly impressed by his attitude.
Despite appearances, he was a very polite person.
It seems like he was aware of his own appearance and this was a cautious approach to avoid scaring the child.
“What is your name?”
Jin Cheon-hee calmly replied, “My name is Jin Cheon-hee.”
“A splendid name. And you are remarkably composed even in this situation. Did you make the tent behind you?”
“Yes, because there are injured people…”
“Injured people? Wait here for a moment. I’ll go take a look.”
Jin Cheon-hee watched as the man got up and went into the tent.
“A critical patient! Fetch Baek Rin Eui-seon! Quickly!”
Jin Cheon-hee was shocked to hear the name.
‘Baek Rin Eui-seon! That’s right, he said Baek Rin Eui-seon. Could it be…’
In the distance, someone could be seen getting off the carriage. The coachman opened the door and lightly supported the man who came out.
It was a person with silver hair and beautiful features. Snowy white skin and smooth lines that looked like he was carved out of jade, and slowly, the man moved towards their direction.
Jin Cheon-hee’s heart skipped a beat at the sight.
‘The description is just like in the novel…’
‘Have I been transported to the novel world?’
With a blank face, Jin Cheon-hee stared at Baek Rin Eui-seon. Eventually, he looked back at the tent.
‘Then I can’t believe I just saved you… The future Demon King.’
****
Jin Cheon-hee slowly collected his thoughts.
‘Baek Rin Eui-seon, known for his hair that resembles the scales of a white dragon. One of the three great Doctors in the world and the last surviving descendant of the fallen Jaegal family, as described in the novel.’
The tent was soon dismantled, and Baek Rin Eui-seon approached each patient and touched them.
‘Acupuncture… I also wanted to learn about that in the past.’
Jin Cheon-hee, a modern surgeon, had studied traditional medicine as well while indulging in martial arts novels. Although he did not receive formal education from a master, his studies were extensive.
He had memorized all the acupuncture points and had some knowledge of herbal medicine.
Baek Rin Eui-seon’s needle pierced the patient’s skin without hesitation as he undressed them.
‘Wow, that was really fast. He’s definitely the same Baek Rin Eui-seon character from the novel…’
As he watched, Baek Rin Eui-seon scrutinize the area where Jin Cheon-hee had sutured the wound. His handsome face was filled with admiration. He was focused solemnly on his patients. Some people blushed at the change in his expression.
He took a small jar out of his pocket and opened the lid, revealing a fragrant ointment. He dipped his finger into the sticky liquid and dabbed it on the wound, gently rubbing it with his finger.
What was interesting was that there seemed to be a method to applying the golden salve, which involved tapping around the acupuncture points. Despite the loud tapping, the patient didn’t seem to be in much pain.
‘Is that the Golden Needle Ointment? It’s amazing… If the novel is correct, that must be Baek Rin Eui-seon’s Golden Needle Ointment. In the novel, it said that a single jar contains ten grams of gold. And now he’s not just simply applying it but also by using his inner strength.’
He wanted to learn more. His curiosity as a scholar was as strong as his sense of duty as a doctor. Just then, Woon Ji-sang urgently asked;
“What’s the status? Can we save Dam Ja-Gang and Gongson Yeong?”
‘So the old man is Dam Ja-Gang and the lady is Gongson Yeong… Is this child really Yeo Ha-ryun?’
As Jin Cheon-hee was watching with interest, Baek Rin Eui-seon turned his head and asked, “Who performed this procedure?”
All eyes were on Jin Cheon-hee. Even Baek Rin Eui-seon’s gaze turned towards him. The air felt strange because of everyone’s gaze.
****
‘There’s no trace of martial arts. A completely ordinary body. He must be around ten to twelve years old now. How strange.’ Baek Rin Eui-seon, one of the three great doctors in the world, thought as he looked at the boy, Jin Cheon-hee.
‘I stitch up wounds to stop bleeding. It’s one of the breaking techniques, but it’s not an easy one to come by in Gangho. Normally, wounds are treated by stopping bleeding through acupuncture and then applying a herbal medicine before tightly wrapping it with bandages. Isn’t that the usual treatment?’
He thought it was similar to the breaking technique, which he had learnt. He also sensed traces of modification that allowed the majority of people who did not know martial arts to learn, not just the selected few doctors.
“Hmm… intriguing.”
The Cloud Dragon Bureau was one of the top-ranking bureau in the world. Baek Rin Eui-seon had long maintained a close relationship with them. Their stable was located near the headquarters of Baek Rin Eui-seon.
The head of the bureau had come urgently, asking for his help. That’s why he was here.
Judging from the piles of bodies, it seemed to be a well-planned attack. Seeing such a scene, Baek Rin Eui-seon was intrigued.
As one of the three most great doctors in the world, he had a good understanding of the breaking technique, which was a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves cutting and operating on flesh.
Even Baek Rin Eui-seon couldn’t suture wounds as neatly as this. No, he had never even tried it. The current method of wound closure involved acupuncture or using a scalpel heated with fire to cauterize the wound.
Suturing wounds like clothes was a simple but innovative idea.
‘Is this child related to Kang Ho-in?’
Kang Ho-in was one of the three greatest doctors in the world and an elder statesman who was older than Jae-Gal Rin(Baek Rin Eui-seon). He is a master of the breaking technique and could be considered the best in the world.”
‘Moreover, the position of the needle and thread is consistent. It’s not just a skill that can be learnt in one or two tries. Could I have been able to treat this wound if it were me?’
‘If I used acupuncture to stop the bleeding, it would have been possible. But using needles and thread in an emergency situation like this? That would have been impossible.’
Baek Rin Eui-seon looked at the boy and thought to himself. No matter how much he thought about it, it was an amazing medical skill.
****
Jin Cheon-hee spoke with difficulty.
“But…”
“It is indeed an excellent medical skill using the threads. If it weren’t for you, this patient would not be in this world.”
Everyone was amazed at his words.
‘Has Baek Rin Eui-seon ever praised someone like this before?’
And it was a small child that he was praising.
He was always a strict person when it came to medicine. It was very difficult to hear praise for medicine from him.
But Jin Cheon-hee, who heard such words, didn’t seem to care about them.
In fact, he was thinking about other things.
But even though he had such thoughts, his appearance seemed special to others.
‘Well, I wouldn’t know what to say if someone asked me who I am. By the way, isn’t that a word used when calling for a surgical procedure? It doesn’t sound familiar.’
While thinking that to himself, Jin Cheon-hee clapped his hands shortly.
“I just did my best to save a person.”
Baek Rin Eui-seon smiled softly at Jin Cheon-hee’s answer.
