Chapter 10
C10 – Nice Armor
“No! I refuse to be the ant at the very bottom of the food chain. I’m going to rise to the very top!” Lee Tian gritted his teeth as he gazed at the evening sky ablaze with sunset hues.
What he truly longed for was to transform back into his human form—to return to the promising, strikingly handsome young man he once was!
At least in his human form, he could pursue romance!
In this brutally harsh animal kingdom, he found it impossible to take an interest in his own species.
Lee Tian was situated on the periphery of the forest.
Deeper within, he had heard tales of even more bizarre and ferocious creatures!
These creatures were known as Spirit Beasts!
The Fire Leopard he’d seen that day, along with the bird as massive as an airplane, had merely been wandering out from the forest’s inner sanctum.
Yet, in that forest, the Fire Leopard and the giant bird weren’t considered particularly formidable.

One could only imagine the sheer brutality of that realm.
“Hunting prey there should net me more Experience Points, right?” Lee Tian mused, the thought of venturing into the forest’s heart taking root.
To become a true king, he knew he must first possess a heart brave enough for adventure!
Suddenly, he caught sight of a pangolin, its body sheathed in armor, ambling beneath his tree.
Pangolins were creatures of the night, typically emerging in search of food after dark.
With evening approaching nightfall, this pangolin seemed to be just setting out on its nocturnal foray.
“Nice armor, Brother Pangolin,” Lee Tian remarked with a wicked grin. His Scythes clanged together, emitting a chilling sound, before he leaped from the branch.
He landed gracefully right in front of the pangolin.
The pangolin, far from being startled by the black ant’s sudden descent, was thrilled and pleasantly surprised!
Pangolins primarily fed on ants, making Lee Tian a walking meal.
Despite the black ant’s odd appearance, it still resembled an ant, albeit a much larger one.
Feasting on this unexpected, hefty dinner would mean an early return to its burrow for a good night’s rest!
The pangolin appeared nonchalant, sniffing the air as it drew closer to Lee Tian, as though savoring the scent of its next meal.
Lee Tian grumbled, “You see me and don’t even flinch? Looks like you’re in dire need of a thrashing!”
No sooner had he finished his grumble than the pangolin charged at him, mouth agape!
Lee Tian’s reflexes were lightning-fast; his scythes began to whirl in a deadly dance.
With two swift strikes, his scythes carved deep slashes across the pangolin’s snout, causing immediate and severe gashes!
The pangolin, reeling from the pain, hastily clamped its mouth shut and stared at Lee Tian, bewildered.
How could this ant be so different from the others?
Clashing his scythes together to produce a sound akin to sharpening a blade, Lee Tian locked eyes with the pangolin and warned, “I’d think twice before underestimating an ant, if I were you!”
With that, he lunged at the pangolin again, delivering two more ferocious cuts!
It was then that the pangolin realized it had not encountered mere prey but a cunning and adept hunter!
In a flash, it coiled into a tight ball, seeking refuge within its ironclad shell, resembling a sphere encased in armor.
But its attempt to shield itself with its armor had come too late.
Lee Tian had already filled it with a potent dose of venom during his assault. It was only a matter of time before the pangolin would succumb.
