Dominator with Endless Level-up System

Chapter 4

C4 – Dream

“Host has slain a Low Rank Level 1 little green worm, earning +1 Experience Points and +0 Evolution Points!”

[Experience Points have reached the maximum. Congratulations, Host, on advancing to Low Rank Level 1!]

“At last, I’m no longer Level 0!”

Perched atop a tree branch, Lee Tian sat upon a web that scarcely resembled that of a spider’s, munching on a little green worm and exhaling contentedly.

For two full days, he had made this branch his hunting ground. In that time, he had dispatched a Low Rank Level 2 spider, two Low Rank Level 1 flying mosquitoes, and four Low Rank Level 1 little green worms. Accumulating enough Experience Points, he had ascended to Low Rank Level 1!

With the level up, Lee Tian felt his body swell in size.

He now matched the size of the Big Black Ant he had inadvertently slain!

As his body grew, so did his ego.

Lee Tian scaled to the tip of the branch, gazing into the azure sky above. “One day, I’ll take down that Fire Leopard,” he mused, “and I’ll reign over the Abyss.”

Lost in thought, he fell silent once more.

Surveying the boundless jungle resounding with the cries of wild beasts, he sighed, “When will I become the Abyss’s supreme ruler?”

On a leafy bough, Lee Tian’s diminutive form harbored grand ambitions.

The chorus of cicadas echoed through the woods.

At the sound, Lee Tian’s eyes sparkled. “I can catch cicadas—they’re not meat-eaters!”

He smacked his forehead, chiding himself for not sooner considering the hunt of small herbivores.

Tuning into the cicadas’ song, Lee Tian estimated at least five or six on his very tree!

Cicadas, larger than ants but not predators of them, posed a lesser threat to Lee Tian’s hunting endeavors.

Catching cicadas proved far simpler than spiders and little green worms, for spiders preyed on ants, and the toxicity of the worms remained a mystery. The risks involved in those hunts were significantly greater.

After a bit of maneuvering through the branches, he finally spotted his first cicada.

However, lurking behind the cicada was a green mantis, standing utterly still with its scythes poised!

The mantis was in the midst of hunting cicadas!

Upon seeing the mantis with its Scythe at the ready, a surge of adrenaline coursed through Lee Tian’s veins.

He was determined to take down the mantis!

But killing a mantis was no simple feat.

Regarded as one of the insect kingdom’s apex predators, the mantis was particularly formidable with its large scythes.

It far surpassed the spider in strength!

Lee Tian, merely an ant, how could he possibly contend with the mantis?

A myriad of hunting strategies raced through Lee Tian’s mind.

Though just an ant, he possessed an advantage far greater than any of these insects—human intelligence!

Humans stood at the pinnacle of the food chain precisely because of their superior intellect compared to other beings.

“Today, I will hunt this mantis!” Lee Tian sneered with determination, his mind already concocting the perfect strategy to take down his prey.

“You may be mighty, but in the end, you’re still just an insect. I, on the other hand, was once human.”

Lee Tian first ascended to the branch directly above the mantis. He then secreted spider silk and carefully descended, suspending himself right behind the mantis. There he remained motionless, biding his time for the optimal moment to strike.

Given the mantis’s heightened alertness, any premature attack by Lee Tian would surely result in his own demise!

The prime opportunity would come when the mantis was preoccupied with its Scythe, capturing the cicada, too distracted to notice an external threat. It was then that Lee Tian would unleash his silk, ensnaring the mantis, and ultimately, executing the kill.
