Chapter 31: Rose With Thorns
Chapter 31: Rose With Thorns
Alan's body suddenly swayed slightly from side to side, like a flower swaying in the wind. As he waved, the ice behind his head disappeared. That was because the sniper could no longer aim at him. After all, a small movement with a rotating footwork was the best anti-sniper movement. Along with that, the forest leaves suddenly splashed by his feet, and a hole appeared in the ground amidst the sound of sniping from afar. This meant that the sniper was not calm enough and was eager to kill Alan.
The gap between shots would buy Alan time to counterattack!
Before he could even bandage the wound on his abdomen, Alan immediately turned around and rushed out. He leaned forward and sped through the forest like a vigorous snow wolf. The occasional spinning steps made Ellen's trajectory even harder to measure. Even though it was extremely strenuous, in the five hundred meters of running, the opponent's other bullet had only blasted a thick fir tree out of a large hole in the mouth of the sea.
It's pretty close.
Alan had already rushed out of the forest. There were only a few umbrella-shaped trees on the rock. The crown of one of the trees suddenly trembled. Then, a figure jumped down and quickly flew in the opposite direction. Alan snorted and stopped. Snipers had this kind of convenience. Once they were unable to trap them, they could escape before being counterattacked.
There was only one person left, and the relatively open terrain made it impossible for him to catch up to the sniper in a short period of time, so he could only watch as he left.
His hand pressed down on his abdomen, and because of the intense exercise, the blood oozing out of the wound was now thicker.
Alan found a concealed place and removed the defensive light armor from his upper body. He tore his shirt into strips and tied up the wound on his abdomen. Fortunately, Joe's long blade was not wide, and even if he didn't stitch it up, it would still heal itself.
All it takes is time.
Putting on his defensive light armor again, Alan walked back to the woodland. His coat was completely scrapped, so he simply took off Joe's clothes and put them on, then took out the things that had been packed up earlier. Alan raised his head and looked at the sun. He recognized the position of the sun, then went into the bushes and headed west.
Shortly after he left, the two youths arrived at the woodland. Seeing Hera and Joe's corpses, one of the red-haired, freckled teenagers said, "Looks like we're late."

Another teenager wearing glasses said, "Fortunately, I was late."
The fiery-haired youth flipped over Hera's corpse and finally canceled his notice to take off Hera's gloves. Not everyone could use such a special weapon. As for Joe's tactical saber, Alan had already put it away. The two youths circled around and soon found the material chest that Alan had left behind. The food inside was basically untouched, which made the two teenagers overjoyed.
"Looks like we've got something."
Eyeglasses looked around and said, "We can't take so many things. Don't be greedy, just take a portion."
"You still need to say it." Said his companion with a smile.
The material boxes Allen left behind seemed to attract the rotting flesh of the vultures. After that, the youths who arrived here according to the coordinates deliberately announced by the organizers divided them up, leaving only a few empty boxes left. As for Alan himself, he went west, where he and Lucy would meet. No matter where the two of them were scattered, they all headed west. The highest thing they could see as they headed west was the place where they had gathered.
That place could be a peak, tall enough fir tree, whatever it was, as long as it was conspicuous enough.
After leaving the woods, Alan's eyes suddenly lit up. A stream winded through the grassland in front of him, and a large stretch of green land spread out on the ground like a green carpet. A dense patch of green forest slanted into the grassland in the northwest. The edge of the forest spread from north to west, pointing straight towards a tall mountain peak on the horizon.
The mountain peaks were clouded, and snow lines could still be seen on the summit. The vast expanse of white on the snowline shone brightly in the sunlight.
In the clear blue sky, a flock of birds flew past and let out clear bird chirps. In a flash, they disappeared into the distance. On the grassland, a group of docile horned deer were drawing water from the stream. Suddenly, the herd of deer started to stir. Hundreds of horned deer scattered in an uproar. It was originally a Sword Tooth Berserk Wolf. A level 3 dangerous species, the Sword Tooth Berserk Wolf, was already able to activate its life force. Unlike Bai Fang, who was able to activate the Frost Qi, the Sword Tooth Berserk Wolf's life force was more used in terms of strength and speed.
Its short-range sprint could reach speeds of over a hundred kilometers per hour, and its bite power was enough to easily tear the human body apart. The appearance of the Sword Tooth Berserk Wolf meant that the grassland was not as calm as it seemed.
Ellen checked his weapons again, Berserk was behind him, and Joe's sabers were in his hands. They would be Ellen's guarantee to walk across the dangerous plains. He raised his head and locked his target on the upright mountain peak. Then, he began to walk into the grassland.
At the same time, Lucy was heading towards the same destination in the forest that stretched from north to west far away from the grassland. With a pair of ponytails and a jumping personality, the young miss was pushing westward with a bulging bag on her back. Occasionally, he would climb to the tall cedar tree to look into the distance, correct his direction, and then continue on his way. Lucy always had a faint smile on her little face, completely free from the tension and pressure on the other teenagers.
In the evening, Lucy found an open space to camp. Expecting to arrive at the gathering place tomorrow, the eldest young miss snorted in a relaxed mood. A slightly nasal tune spread through the forest, and after Lucy had cleared a circle of isolation on the ground, a small campfire was lit. Put up a shelf on the fire with branches, and take out the instant slices of meat from your bag. Lucy spread them flat on the shelf and roasted them over the fire.
In just a moment, the fragrance of meat floated in the forest.
Lucy could even see a strange shadow or two flickering in the forest, flickering with red and blue fluorescence. Night bonfires attract some dangerous species, but Lucy doesn't mind. She was more concerned about whether she could have a delicious and satisfying dinner. When the meat was roasted golden, she picked up one of the pieces with a dagger, tore off a piece of meat with two fingers and threw it into her mouth to chew.
Lucy nodded in satisfaction. Remove the barbecue grill from the fire and wait for the night breeze to cool down before eating. Two figures appeared in Lucy's eyes.
"Isn't that Miss Lucy? I can smell the roasted meat. I'm so lucky." Said a shrill voice. The owner of the voice was a fourteen or fifteen year old youth. Soft light brown hair stuck to his forehead, and the tall, thin boy had a big nose. A black steel spear rested on his shoulder, his hands wrapped around the shaft of the spear, and he walked over leisurely.
Beside him was another boy of similar age, short and sturdy. His left forearm was covered with a circular shield, while his other hand was holding a short single-edged axe. The blade of the axe was still stained with blood. A drop of blood dripped down from the blade. It was obvious that the axe had just drunk enough blood.
"Sinta, Sam." Lucy nodded and said, "Well, we've already said hello. Now you can leave. This forest is very big, and there are plenty of places for you to camp."
The tall Sinta and Sam exchanged glances, and then both of them laughed. Sinta took the spear off her shoulder and walked towards Lucy with it in her hand. "Are you mistaken, Miss Lucy? We're here for you."
Lucy smiled and said, "Don't try to barbecue me. It won't be a good idea."
"No, we want you more than barbecue!" Sinta suddenly sprinted. From the moment he stopped to the moment he sprinted, he did not run up at all. The youth leaned forward and came to Lucy like a gust of wind.
In his eyes, Lucy didn't even have time to dodge or get up, and the girl who was still sitting on the ground didn't seem to be able to react. Sinta could almost foresee that his spear would pierce through the girl's chest in the next second.
However, before the spear could be raised, a golden automatic pistol suddenly appeared in the empty space between the two of them. The automatic pistol had the patterns of a rose flower. The lines continued to extend from the handle to the muzzle, and they were complex and gorgeous.
Lucy smiled even more. "It's obviously worse to think of me!"
The girl pressed down on the trigger, not knowing if she was mistaken or if it was a reflection of the flames. Sinta saw the pattern on the hilt of the gun shine with a few wisps of light. There was a flash of fire in the dark muzzle of the gun. Sinta tried his best to twist his body to avoid the attack, but Sinta remained in his original position until a bullet carved with the letter A at the front of the bullet pierced through the skull.
All of this happened in a flick of a finger, from Sinta to Lucy raising her gun, to the teenager blowing his head off, almost in an instant. Before Lucy could finish her sentence, Sam saw his companion fly backwards with a mist of blood.
Sam shouted. He raised his shield to cover his face and charged at Lucy. Lucy jumped up from the ground and raised her hand to shoot. Sam was shocked and moved his head to the side. Suddenly, a scorching hot stream of air brushed past his ears. The youth's eyes were wide open as he watched in disbelief as a bullet hole appeared on his shield. If it wasn't for the indescribable sense of danger that flashed through his heart earlier, he would have instinctively moved. Otherwise, Lucy's bullet would have already pierced through the shield and his head!
Although the shield in Sam's hand wasn't of any high quality, it was made of fine steel. The automatic pistol in Lucy's hand was supposed to be impenetrable. Suddenly, Sam remembered a terrifying weapon.
Mana Spear!
Sam's eyes were burning. If Lucy had a magic gun in her hand, it would be worth more than the girl's life. Sam's pitifully poor knowledge, but he didn't know which magic gun could fire live ammunition.
In the blink of an eye, Sam had already rushed to the bonfire. He kicked the campfire away. Sam took advantage of the sparks in the burning branches to distract Lucy, and slashed his axe at her chest.
The moves were so ruthless that he had no intention of showing mercy to her.
"You barbarian!" Lucy protested and retreated, avoiding Mars and Sam's axe.
Sam ignored the girl's protest and rolled away. At the same time, a short axe was cut out to take Lucy's long leg. Sam chased after her and displayed all the axe skills he had learned. For a moment, Lucy didn't even have a chance to shoot.
Lucy seized the opportunity to shoot when Sam's axe was open. Sam was as frightened as a bird, and immediately rolled away to the side. Unexpectedly, Lucy chuckled and turned around to run away. It turned out to be a fake shot.
Sam's face was red and hot, and he was so angry that he threw an axe at Lucy's pink back. The axe spun at high speed and was about to hit Lucy. The girl suddenly spun her short body, letting the axe hack into the trunk of a fir tree. At the same time, Lucy had turned around and pointed the gun at Sam.
Sam didn't expect Lucy to combine evasion and counterattack in one move. By the time he wanted to dodge, Lucy's muzzle was already spitting out flames. Sam only shouted and raised his master shield. At the same time, his Origin Energy surged, creating a faint ripple in front of the shield.
This was one of the ten-dozen "shields" in the army, one of the most commonly used defensive methods. He used Origin Energy to create a shield in front of him to protect himself. However, as soon as the Origin Energy Shield was erected, Sam's forehead trembled, and then his entire body became light and floating.
He leaned backwards until he died, and he didn't know how Lucy's bullet had struck him through the double defenses of the Origin Shield and the Hand Shield.
This was simply unbelievable!
