Era of Players: Death God

Chapter 85: Rewards and Announcement

The Elite Classroo.

As Noah patiently waited for their teacher to show up, he decided to take a peek at his status window. All eyes were fixated on him, perhaps because he had emerged as the victor of the Survival Test. The reward for his triumph would be announced by Elena when she arrived.

Aiden shot Noah a piercing look, but Noah chose to brush it off. Lilith acknowledged him with a gentle gaze before closing her eyes, seemingly lost in meditation.

To Noah's surprise, Arthur didn't initiate a conversation with him, which actually worked to Noah's advantage.

"Status Window!" Noah whispered in his mind, and just like that, his status window materialized before him.

Lost in contemplation about whether he should invest in skills or runes, Noah mused to himself,

"Not a bad idea. Perhaps I should buy a rune." However, his thoughts were interrupted as Elena, their teacher, gracefully entered the room.

Elena was dressed elegantly, not in the flashy, ostentatious way, but with a quiet sophistication. Her attire flowed around her as she moved, the fabric whispering secrets of a bygone era. A single emerald: or other gemstone that suits your world pendant nestled at her throat, the only adornment needed to complete the picture of understated elegance.

As Elena gracefully made her way to the stage, the classroom was filled with anticipation. Her warm smile radiated the sheer excitement she felt within.

"Welcome back, my dear students," Elena enthusiastically announced, her voice filled with joy, "I am thrilled to declare that the time has come for our adventures beyond these walls."

The room instantly ignited with roaring applause and an outpouring of exhilaration. It was as if the very air was buzzing with electrifying energy. Noah, unable to contain his elation, discreetly flashed a triumphant victory sign under the table, his heart bursting with happiness.

Gazing upon her enthusiastic students, their eyes gleaming with determination, Elena's heart swelled with pride. With a gentle shake of her head, she couldn't help but smile, knowing that this was just the beginning of an extraordinary journey they were about to embark on together.

But foremost they are things that must be done before the beginning of missions beyond the academy's walls.

However, amidst the excitement, Elena knew that certain tasks needed to be completed before they could venture beyond the confines of the academy.

"Alright, settle down everyone," Elena urged, her voice carrying authority, "Before we proceed with our upcoming missions, it's time to announce the rewards for the Survival Test."

Instantly, a wave of hushed anticipation swept across the classroom as Elena's words hung in the air. The once-excitable students returned to their seats, their attention squarely focused on the impending announcement. Whispers of excitement and envy subtly drifted through the room as they cast longing gazes towards Noah, who remained surprisingly composed amidst the commotion.

"For the holder of the first place, Noah Adler," Elena declared, her voice carrying a hint of admiration,"a whopping 50,000 Credits and a blue pass entitling three days inside the Tower of Trials."

The classroom erupted into a chorus of gasps and awestruck whispers. Everyone marveled at the incredible bounty bestowed upon Noah. Despite the overwhelming reaction, Noah remained unfazed, merely giving a curt nod of acknowledgment.

He gracefully accepted his rewards, the credits seamlessly added to his school pass while the coveted blue pass for the Tower of Trials found a secure place in his possession.

Elena's nod of approval was unmistakable as she observed Noah's composed demeanor. He had not allowed his victory to fester into arrogance, remaining cool-headed throughout, an exemplary trait.

Without further ado, Elena proceeded to announce the rewards for the second-place holder, Lilith Evangelion. "For the second place, Lilith Evangelion," she announced, "you will receive 30,000 Credits and a two-day pass to the Tower of Trials."

Lilith rose from her seat with an expressionless face, silently accepting her well-deserved rewards before retaking her place. Her indifference from start to finish did not waver, leaving a sense of mystery surrounding her true emotions.

Elena's nod of acknowledgement followed before moving on to the third-place rewards. The fact that all the top positions were claimed by students from the Elite Classroom filled her with immense pride and gratefulness.

"For third place, Arthur Kaamelott," Elena declared, her voice brimming with pride, "you will be awarded 25,000 Credits and a one-day pass to the Tower of Trials."

"Thank you, teacher!" Arthur expressed his gratitude as he accepted his rewards. Although the number of Credits paled in comparison to Lilith and Noah's prizes, Arthur was particularly thrilled about the free pass to the Tower of Trials.

He knew that even with just one day, he could make significant progress, investing his hard-earned Credits to further level up inside the Tower's challenging trials.

Clap! Clap!

Elena regained the attention of everyone by clapping twice before she proceeded to speak. "The rewards for fourth and fifth place won't be announced since they aren't relevant to our class. I am thrilled that the top three performers in this Survival Test are from our class. It brings me immense joy.

Now, let's move on to the topic that I know you've all been impatient to hear: the begining of missions outside."

All eyes in the Elite Classroom were fixed on Elena, completely engrossed in her words.

"Traditionally, we would have commenced these missions in the middle of the semester. However, this year, due to the exceptional talent we have in our batch of students, we have collectively decided to move the start of the missions outside forward a bit. That's why we find ourselves in the current situation."

Noah and his classmates nodded in agreement, understanding the rationale behind the decision. It was a wise choice, and everyone shared the same sentiment.

Their eagerness to begin the missions outside of the academy quickly dissipated as Elena's next words brought a dampening reality.

"Although we have decided to accelerate the start of the missions outside, there is a requirement to be eligible for participation. You must reach level 30. I understand that most of you have already achieved the Regular rank, but your levels should be in the early to mid-20s, perhaps late 20s for the exceptionally talented individuals. I am unsure if any of you have already reached level 30.

Nevertheless, you have been given a strict deadline of one week. You must reach level 30 within this timeframe, or else you will not be able to participate."

The disappointment in the students' eyes was evident to Elena, but it quickly transformed into a determination that burned within them. They understood the importance of reaching level 30 within the given week, and they were willing to put in the hard work and spend their credits to achieve this goal.

None of them complained, knowing that participating in missions outside of the academy was a crucial step towards gaining recognition as Players. This was their opportunity to catch the attention of guilds, paving the way for a smoother future.

Additionally, those who performed exceptionally well had the chance to establish their own guild within the academy, if they preferred not to join an existing one. While referred to as guilds, they were more like clubs. The thrill and value of taking part in the missions outside outweighed any reservations, making each of them eager to seize this opportunity.

Meanwhile, without informing his teacher, Noah had already surpassed the threshold to participate in the missions outside. He planned to utilize the upcoming week to efficiently farm for experience, aiming to reach a minimum level of 35.

Lilith, on the other hand, was not far from reaching level 30 herself, only two levels away. As she observed Noah lost in deep contemplation, she couldn't help but think that it would be beneficial if they were partnered together. Her aunt had subtly hinted at today's announcement, suggesting that they would be paired up as a duo.

Lilith hoped that she would be paired with Noah, as it would feel like a special occasion, a chance to grow closer to him and strengthen their bond. In addition, she saw this as an opportunity to enhance their coordination, something her aunt had emphasized. With a calm and expressionless nod, Lilith decided that she would give her best effort in whatever situation awaited her.

Francesca happened to catch Lilith staring intensely in Noah's direction. She quickly covered her mouth and whispered to her best friend, Ilya, who was sitting in front of her.

"Ilya, look! It seems our princess has a plan."

Ilya turned to glance at Lilith and gasped in realization.

"You're right. Let's support her and assist in whatever she's trying to do."

With a mischievous smile, Francesca replied,

"Fufufu! I was thinking the same thing."

For no apparent reason, Noah suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.
