Evolution: A Warlock's Rise To Power

Chapter 288: Telling Dad

Chapter 288: Telling Dad

After touring through the condo, Jenna made up her mind.  "Let's talk price."  She said to the real estate agent.

The agent submitted Jenna's bid to the seller.  It was a little lower than the asking price, but the seller immediately agreed.  The place had sat empty for far too long.

The real estate agent was happy to make a deal for such a luxurious place.  Her commission would be quite sizable this month.

"Now that the price has been arranged, you will need to get a certificate from the bank to show that they have approved you for a loan of this size.  Once you bring that to our office, we can procced with signing the paperwork."

"That won't be necessary."  Jenna said, which confused the real estate agent for a moment, but her next sentence cleared everything up.  "I am prepared to pay in full right now.  When can I get the keys?"

"Ah, great.  The transfer usually takes 2-3 days, but since no one is currently living here, the seller might be alright with you taking the keys once I get confirmation from the bank that the money has started to move."

Jenna nodded, as if instructing her to go ahead and make the call.

"This place is great."  Holly said, congratulating her sister.  "You will have to let me come over for a swim every now and then."

"Don't we have a pool at home already?"  Jenna asked with a smirk.

"Psh, yeah, but it isn't on top of a building and it doesn't have a view like this."  Holly answered.

"It's fine with me, but you will probably see Brax if you come over here."

Holly shrugged.  "He isn't really that bad."  She then quickly turned towards her sister.  "But don't tell him I said that."

Jenna nodded while holding back her laughter.  She felt great.  She was getting along with her sister much better than she had in the past few years.  She had a secret husband who loved her very much and also got along with her family well.  And now, she had gotten a place for them to live together.  She still had to ask Brax to move in with her, but she wasn't expecting an issue there.

She knew that some men may throw a fit if their wife bought a home with their own money and then asked them to move in.  They would say it was an attack against a man's honor.  The man may say he has failed to provide for his wife in some situations like that.  But this wouldn't be the case with Brax.  He would be happy and agree without hesitation.  At least, this is what she believed.  She would be lying to herself if she said there wasn't a hint of nervousness in her heart.  But she felt that that nervousness wasn't directed towards Brax accepting that she bought a home for them.  Her nervousness was directed towards what would be happening tonight once they entered Evolution.

Mrs. Beneil came over with the real estate agent.  The agent passed over the keys to the new homeowner with a smile.

"The seller has no issue with you taking the keys right now.  It will take a little time to finalize the paperwork and put the house officially in your name."  The agent explained while Jenna was walking her out of the unit.  When the door was shut, and the agent was separated form her mother Jenna interjected.

"This condo will be put under both my name and my husbands.  I will send over all the necessary information to your office and he and I will pay you a visit tomorrow to finalize everything."

The real estate agent was surprised for a moment, but ultimately it didn't mater if she was filling the paperwork for a single person, or a pair of spouses.  The work was about the same anyway.

"Great.  If you can call me when you are on your way tomorrow, I will have everything prepared and ready to go when you arrive."

"Great."  Jenna said before shaking the woman's hand and sending her off.

Jenna returned to the unit to see both her mother and sister were messing around the living room while talking about how they wanted to decorate.  The condo came pre-furnished, and the furnishings were all made from quality material, but it still was a step below the tastes of the Beneil's.

"Any thoughts on how you are going to decorate this place?"  Holly asked.

Jenna shrugged.  "I want to wait and discuss it with Brax first.  Hopefully we can find something we both like."  She said.

Her mother nodded before she spoke.  "You are going to have to tell your father that you are moving out.  I will try to help you, but he will be disappointed."

Jenna hung her head low.  "I know, but"

"I understand dear."  Mrs. Beneil said while running her hair through her daughter's hair.  "You want your relationship with Brax to progress.  I fully understand and support you and want you to have a happy life that you are satisfied with.  When you tell him, just do it quickly. Your father has a sixth sense for when people are trying to tell him bad news.  If you try to drag it out, then it will only make you both suffer.  When you are ready, just gather your strength and just blurt it out.  Only then can you move forward."

Jenna eagerly nodded her head.  She was prepared to listen to her mother instructions.

"Good, and I will do my best to stop your father from buying a place in this building after he learns that you are moving here."

"He, he, he."  Holly began to laugh.  When Jenna looked at her, she started to explain.  "Sorry, I was imagining dad, in his robe with coffee in hand going to the door to get the paper while Brax is doing the same thing.  I think if that were to happen, Brax may even end up inviting dad over for breakfast every morning."

Jenna began to panic because she definitely could see such a thing happening.  Brax was eager to make her father like him and would invite him wherever if it had a chance of improving their relationship.  It may sound harsh, but the last thing Jenna wanted to see was her father having breakfast with them after she moved in with her husband.

"Mom, what if we don't tell dad where I am moving?"

Next it was Mrs. Beneil's turn to laugh when she saw the genuine panic on her daughter's face.  "He, he, don't worry, that won't happen.  Like I said, I will put my foot down and your father will not being getting a condo in this building."

"Whew, that is good."  Jenna said with a sigh of relief.

But then her mother spoke again.  "But who know, he may just buy the whole building.  Ha, ha, ha, I am only joking."  She clarified after seeing the panic return to her daughter face.

"Both of you are bullies."  She said with a huff while turning around running upstairs while laughter echoed out behind her.
