Chapter 14
C14 – Mo Yangning Is Really Powerful
A look of shock crossed Qian Hongyun’s face.
Stepping into the sixth floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda almost guaranteed becoming an Inscription Expert. So, what did reaching the seventh floor signify? A Sovereign?
A Sovereign was a level of power unseen in all of Black Rock City. Disbelief shone in Qian Hongyun’s beautiful eyes.
“Mo Yangning has reached the seventh floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda. It looks like I’ll need to familiarize myself with the Third Elder of the Mo family going forward,” Qian Hongyun mused to herself.
She had to acknowledge the talent before her.
“The Third Elder’s son, Beiming, surpasses even the Second Master. Mo Feng only managed to reach the sixth floor in his time,” someone laughed, extending congratulations to Mo Yangning’s father.
Mo Yanglin waved his hand in a show of false modesty, claiming it was no big deal, while inwardly he was bursting with pride.
“The Second Master is nothing but a discarded piece of trash. How could he ever compare to my son, Beiming? And his worthless son is no different. What right does he have to be compared to my son?” Mo Yanglin thought with a cold sneer, gazing at the illuminated seventh floor as if he could already envision himself ruling over the entire Mo family.
The scene on the seventh floor shifted again, revealing a vast, empty level with no Puppets in sight, only a pathway leading to the eighth floor.
“Could it be that there’s no trial on the seventh floor?” Mo Yunyun asked, clearly perplexed.
But in a flash, as if she had seen something, she became rooted to the spot. Her eyes hollow with fear, as though she had witnessed the most horrifying scene of her life, her body shook uncontrollably, her once-proud stance now wavering.
It wasn’t until Mo Changyou gave her shoulder a reassuring pat that she snapped out of her daze.
“This seventh level must be an illusion. Even a seasoned Peak Fusion Spirit expert might not withstand it. Only those with exceptionally strong willpower can overcome it. You haven’t faced much yet, and with your Internal Demon, it’s best if you stay put and not wander,” Mo Changyou advised.
“Okay,” Mo Yunyun nodded, a blind trust in Mo Changyou’s words settling within her.

The sights she had witnessed were maddening, the horrific images threatening to shatter her into dust.
Yet, could Mo Changyou make it through?
Mo Yunyun was curious. She had barely grazed the surface, and it felt as though her very soul was being ripped apart. She nearly lost consciousness and feared it could trigger a relapse into Qi Deviation, potentially leaving her deranged.
Mo Changyou approached the passage to the eighth level with ease, as if it were a simple task.
Who could possibly be the Internal Demon of the Heavenly Book Monarch? To Mo Changyou, even Qi Wenya was merely a straightforward adversary.
His past life’s memories rendered him impervious to the so-called Internal Demon, and he faced no resistance on the entire seventh floor.
Mo Yunyun, trailing behind him, was astounded.
“Is it possible that he didn’t encounter the illusion?” she asked, incredulous.
The experience had terrified her, more frightening than the worst nightmare.
Yet, in Mo Changyou’s presence, the illusions seemed nonexistent.
He moved with effortless grace, as if carried by a gentle breeze, and stepped onto the eighth floor.
The long-dormant eighth floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda was now ablaze with light!
The world outside was abuzz with excitement.
“Good heavens, the eighth floor!” the disciples exclaimed. Even the Secret Realm of the Mo family was marked by a beam of light that shot through the heavens.
A pillar of light split the sky as a white-robed middle-aged man emerged, his gaze piercing, his stature tall and lean, his features chiseled. With a single stride, he covered an immense distance and arrived above the Azure Dragon Pagoda.
It was Patriarch Mo!
“Who has reached the eighth floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda?” Patriarch Mo inquired, his face etched with curiosity.
“The Patriarch, who seldom emerges from seclusion, has been stirred,” an elder remarked, clearly taken aback.
“Reporting to the Patriarch, the identity of the individual on the eighth floor is currently unknown. Of the two remaining on the seventh floor, one is Mo Yunyun, and the other is the son of the Third Elder, Mo Yangning,” the Tower Guardian Elder promptly reported.
Of course, these were mere speculations.
“Mo Yunyun might indeed have the potential to reach the seventh floor, but Mo Yangning as well?” Mo Lianshen’s eyes narrowed slightly in contemplation.
Mo Yangning’s talent was significantly inferior to Mo Yunyun’s. Could he really have ascended to the seventh level?
“Patriarch, are you skeptical? Besides Beiming and Mo Yunyun, do you really think that Second Master’s worthless son could have reached the seventh floor?” Mo Yanglin said with biting sarcasm.
As the Third Elder, he was known to have a strained relationship with both the Patriarch and the Second Master.
His remark caused many to stifle their laughter behind their hands.
It was common knowledge that Second Master’s son, Mo Changyou, was the Patriarch’s own nephew. Yet, he was considered nothing more than a failure. How could he possibly have ascended to the seventh floor?
However, at that very moment, Mo Yunyun appeared. She had been eliminated, materializing in front of the pagoda with a soft glow.
The light from the eighth floor still shone brightly!
In that instant, the hearts of the Mo family’s disciples and elders gathered around the Azure Dragon Pagoda skipped a beat.
Mo Yangning had reached the eighth level!
Someone entering the eighth floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda was a miracle that the Mo family hadn’t witnessed in thousands of years.
“My son Beiming truly possesses the stature of a Sovereign!” Mo Yanglin exclaimed with unrestrained glee. His gaze fixed on Mo Lianshen, who hovered in midair, his words dripping with unmistakable scorn.
He aimed to unsettle Mo Lianshen, insinuating that his nephew, Mo Changyou, was nothing but trash compared to his own son, Mo Yangning.
