Fantasy: The Great Emperor Comes Back

Chapter 3

C3 – This Illness Is Easy to Treat

However, this bloodline was exceedingly diluted and had been sealed away. Mo Changyou had just unlocked this dormant lineage, causing his realm to surge through several levels in an instant. This breakthrough was also thanks to the Invincible Technique he acquired in his past life: the Man Symbol Spell.

“Even in my past life, the Vajra Sacred Body was seldom seen. Now, the challenge lies in purifying this bloodline to the Initial Sacred Body,” Mo Changyou reflected. With the Vajra Sacred Body in this life, his cultivation was bound to be significantly easier.

Previously known as the Heavenly Book Monarch, Mo Changyou had mastered all the Secret Arts, leaving no mystery unknown to him.

Yet, the Vajra Sacred Body was exceedingly rare, with each bearer dominating for many years.

Upon Mo Changyou’s return to the Mo family, many of the younger members looked upon him with disdain, some openly ridiculing him.

“I still can’t fathom why the family lavishes him with so many resources. Is it just because his father once fought for the Mo family and the Purple Cloud Empire? But his father is nothing more than a has-been now.”

“Why bother about it? Mo Changyou is just as worthless, isn’t he? If you really want to blow off some steam, just give him a thrashing during next month’s family competition,” another disciple chimed in.

“You’re right. In the upcoming family competition, I’ll make sure that kid can’t even stand up. They’re just squandering cultivation resources,” Mo Fei declared, his towering stature a testament to his habitual bullying of Mo Changyou.

He despised Mo Changyou. When Mo Changyou had not been identified as having Grade Nine Talent, the Mo family had allocated him an abundance of cultivation resources. Mo Fei believed that had he received those resources, he would have already become the Mo family’s top prodigy.

Meanwhile, Mo Ao watched Mo Changyou enter, his heart pounding with alarm.

“This kid is still alive?”

He quietly seethed, recalling how he had orchestrated Mo Changyou’s deceitful expulsion, pocketing three thousand spirit stones from Qian Hongyun for his troubles.

As Mo Changyou approached the courtyard, he spotted a figure in a gray robe leaning against the entrance, nursing a drink in utter despondency.

Mo Feng was Mo Changyou’s father, once revered as the War God of the empire. His downfall came after a visit to the Imperial Capital left him crippled. Now back with the Mo family, he spent his days drowning in alcohol.

Upon Mo Changyou’s return, Mo Feng barely lifted his eyelids, exuding an air of indifference.

In truth, the Mo family had sought treatment for Mo Feng after his return, but to no avail. They had expended tens of thousands of spirit stones to bring a Sovereign healer from the Imperial Capital, only to be told, “He is completely beyond help.”

Since then, Mo Feng had succumbed to a life of drinking, his spirit in ruins, and the Mo family had given up on him.

Mo Changyou felt a pang of sorrow looking at his father. Having been an orphan in his previous life, he had never known a father’s love. He couldn’t stand by and watch the once-mighty War God fall into despair.

“You’ve let your Dantian be destroyed and now you just drink all day? If you have the time, why not gather Heavenly Fragrance Grass, Heavenly Leaf, and Fire Hurt Flower, and simmer them with Venerable Flame for three days and nights? You could regain much of your cultivation,” Mo Changyou suggested, casting a glance at his father.

“What nonsense are you spouting?” Mo Feng shook his head dismissively at Mo Changyou, lying back down and taking another swig of wine.

Clearly, he thought Mo Changyou’s words were sheer folly.

“Your Dantian was likely shattered by an invincible being who pierced it with their physical strength. But since it wasn’t destroyed with Spirit Energy, there’s a chance it can be repaired. Haven’t you noticed over the years that whenever you gather a trace of Spirit Energy, it just vanishes? And doesn’t your Baihui Acupoint throb with pain each time you try to force the gathering of Spirit Energy? If you were to reverse the flow of Spirit Energy in your Dantian, might you find that the energy accumulates?” Mo Changyou spoke calmly.

“How do you know that?” Mo Feng, who had been drinking, froze, struck by the accuracy of Mo Changyou’s words.

He had never shared these matters with anyone before. For years, whenever he tried to channel his Spirit Energy, the Baihui Acupoint would throb with excruciating pain, causing the Spirit Energy he gathered to vanish. It was particularly severe when the flow of Spirit Energy in his Dantian reversed, just as Mo Changyou had described.

Despite spending a fortune in spirit stones to seek help from a Sovereign, he was unfamiliar with any of the herbs Mo Changyou mentioned. “Your Dantian has been barren for sixteen years. If you don’t act quickly to repair it, I must tell you that you have a maximum of three years left. After that, your Dantian will be beyond recovery,” Mo Changyou explained.

In his past life, he was revered as the Heavenly Book Monarch. A shattered Dantian was trivial; he could save someone whose limbs were all severed, leaving them with nothing but a head.

Mo Changyou possessed comprehensive knowledge from every book. He was omniscient.

”I can’t possibly be healed,” Mo Feng said, his voice heavy with despair. Memories flooded back of his journey to the Divine Martial Pavilion in the Imperial Capital and the woman he met there. The sheer might of her family made him lose all hope; to them, the entire Purple Cloud Empire was nothing more than insignificant ants. Yet, his son seemed to have changed.

“The person you sought for help could only have been a Sovereign, but it was someone more powerful than a Sovereign who inflicted your injuries. How could a Sovereign possibly heal you?” Mo Changyou said with a gentle smile before placing his hand on Mo Feng’s body. Spirit Energy flowed from Mo Changyou into Mo Feng, and his fractured Dantian began to accept this external Spirit Energy.

For the first time in sixteen years, Mo Feng’s Dantian, previously devoid of Spirit Energy, sprang to life. Overwhelmed with emotion, Mo Feng stood up, invigorated by the sensation of Spirit Energy coursing through him.

“See, your Dantian isn’t completely shattered. But if you had waited any longer, you would’ve lost your chance for good,” Mo Changyou said, still smiling.

“I’m heading to the Imperial Capital to seek out an old friend and acquire the medicinal herbs you mentioned to restore my Dantian!” Mo Feng’s face lit up with an excited grin. He barely had time to exchange words with Mo Changyou; he was fully alert in an instant. For the past sixteen years, he had endured relentless anguish, day and night.

Now, knowing there was still hope for his salvation, it was possible he could reclaim everything he had lost!

Mo Changyou watched his father hastily pack to depart, a smile playing on his lips.

“Before my memory was reawakened, I harbored some regrets. Now, I’m determined to rectify every single one. Qi Wenya, mark my words, Fallen Ridge will be leveled by my hand!” Mo Changyou’s gaze sharpened. In his past life, he had achieved the Monarch Stage, and he was resolute in his belief that he could reach that pinnacle again in this life.

“My initial step is to awaken the Initial Vajra Body. However, awakening the Vajra Body requires a substantial amount of spirit stones. Therefore, my only option is to head to the Mo family’s Azure Dragon Pagoda!”
