Fantasy: The Great Emperor Comes Back

Chapter 32

C32 – Mo Changyou Is Amazing

Tang Nuolan was somewhat perplexed. The Red Blood Crocodile, a Ferocious Beast of Energy Condensation Level 6, was known for its unparalleled ferocity. Yet, it had been felled by just two punches from Mo Changyou. This seemed impossible.

With her eyes wide in astonishment, Tang Nuolan watched Mo Changyou. She had the sudden realization that he had only shown a fraction of his true power.

The blood within the Red Blood Crocodile churned like scorching lava, indicating that among its peers, its Power of Vitality was exceptionally strong. This also meant that Mo Changyou’s “Man” Symbol Spell could voraciously absorb this potent energy.

By the lakeside, Mo Changyou initiated the “Man” Symbol Spell. A subtle strand of Vitality was drawn out from the Red Blood Crocodile, hovering next to him. He steadily absorbed the Vitality, his breakthrough fueled by his previous hunts in the Darkness Forest.

At this critical juncture, Mo Changyou’s meridians were fully unblocked. The Spirit Energy in his Dantian expanded once more. With precision, he compressed the energy, invoking the Undying Scripture to ascend to Energy Condensation Level 5.

His entire body was nourished by the surge of Spirit Energy, and he remained vigilant. To aspire to the pinnacle of strength, he knew he must achieve Great Perfection at every minor level.

“Can he really use Vitality to advance his realm?” Tang Nuolan mused, witnessing the scene with a mix of confusion and awe.

“Or is it some malevolent cultivation method?” Her unease grew as she pondered the possibility of Mo Changyou being overtaken by some nefarious entity.

“If I were truly possessed by the old devil, do you think I’d let you live until now?” Mo Changyou said, breaking into her worried thoughts with a reassuring pat on her shoulder.

“Get on. It’s not safe here.” He lifted Tang Nuolan onto his back, his gaze sweeping over the expanse of the lake.

Employing the “Man” Symbol Spell, Mo Changyou absorbed the essence of the blood to fortify himself. The beast had regained some of its Vitality, enough to challenge a warrior at the Spirit Fusion Stage.

“I hope it’s not that,” Mo Changyou whispered to himself, a note of concern in his voice as two figures approached them, drawing nearer by the second.

“Can this guy really take down a Ferocious Beast at Energy Condensation Level 6?” The two assassins exchanged glances in disbelief. They were under the impression that Mo Changyou was merely a weakling at Energy Condensation Level 3.

However, Mo Changyou’s actual strength was at Energy Condensation Level 4, and not even the formidable Red Blood Crocodile at Energy Condensation Level 6 could stand against him.

“Your strength is at Energy Condensation Level 8, and mine is at Level 7. Do you think we can take him down?” the heavier assassin asked his companion.

The two were brothers and had been in the assassination business for many years.

“His strength is only at Energy Condensation Level 4; we can definitely kill him. We’re three to four levels above him. And that woman, she’s beautiful—could be the daughter of some noble family. I want to make love to her,” the other assassin remarked, his eyes fixed on Tang Nuolan, who was being carried by Mo Changyou.

“Just go for her,” the second brother suggested, scratching his head in confusion.

“Shut up!” the Eldest Brother snapped irritably.

Mo Changyou was well aware that he was being tailed. Thanks to the keen senses of the Heavenly Book Monarch, even the faintest hint of murderous intent could not escape his detection.

But at the moment, he couldn’t confront them. The assassins had hesitated to strike because they were unsure if Tang Nuolan had truly lost her fighting capabilities, and they feared Mo Changyou might have concealed Magical Equipment.

Clearly, they had been trailing him for a long time without finding anything.

“These assassins are likely gearing up to attack me,” Mo Changyou thought, glancing toward a spot at the base of the mountain. It was the heart of the Darkness Forest, a place teeming with numerous powerful Ferocious Beasts at the Spirit Fusion Stage.

If he made a run for that area, the two assassins might not dare to follow. And even if they did, he could use the Ferocious Beasts to his advantage and annihilate them both. However, venturing into the forest also meant he could encounter formidable beasts himself.

”Since you two are intent on malice, don’t blame me for showing no mercy,” Mo Changyou resolved. With a swift glance at the core of the Darkness Forest, he suddenly leaped forward and sprinted down the snowy mountain. The assassins, quick on their feet, saw Mo Changyou pick up the pace and hastened to keep up.

“Why did he suddenly speed up?” Tang Nuolan, being carried on Mo Changyou’s back, was still somewhat dazed. Mo Changyou had abruptly increased his pace, racing down the snowy mountain at a breakneck speed. The jostling of their bodies caused them to bump into each other repeatedly. Initially, Tang Nuolan suspected Mo Changyou was taking liberties with her.

“We’re being pursued,” Mo Changyou explained with a calm resolve. “I exerted my full strength to instantly dispatch the Red Blood Crocodile to gauge the caliber of our pursuers. Yet, even after I eliminated the Energy Condensation Level 6 creature, the two individuals behind us continued their relentless chase. This indicates their combat prowess far surpasses the Energy Condensation Level 6, likely reaching or exceeding Energy Condensation Level 7.”

It was clear that his use of the Dragon Tiger Fist to eliminate the Red Blood Crocodile was part of this assessment.

“What’s our next move?” Tang Nuolan inquired, her voice tinged with both admiration for Mo Changyou’s strategic acumen and a hint of concern for their predicament.
