Chapter 687: Kill Streak
Abaddon vividly remembered the first time his baby sister beat him up.
It was when they were still children of course, and he had yet to come into his powers.
The two were playing a board game for some supremely high stakes. (Candy)
Abaddon bested his baby sister in the contest and obnoxiously ate the prized candy in front of her. He would later describe his antics as 'A Dick Move'.
Kanami's bottom lip jutted out and trembled cutely; signaling a scenario her brother had already seen too many times before.
To keep her from crying, Abaddon prepared to offer her a bit of his spoils as a peace offering.
Imagine his surprise when his baby sister jumped across the table and beat him over the head with a metal dish.
It was the closest thing to what elders would describe as 'An old fashioned ass-whupping'.
Abaddon was bedridden for two whole weeks after that.
He was only four years old back then. Kanami was two.
And as he watched Atlas snap the neck of his sister's beloved locust, there was only one thought that bubbled into his mind.
'You poor deluded fool…'
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Kanami tackled Atlas forcefully.
Even though she was an entire two feet shorter than the titan, her sudden burst of rage filled her with a strength not far from her brother's.
The two of them crashed back into the ground and kicked up a tornado of dust in the process.
Even after the initial collision occurred, a series of tremors continued to rock the cavern floor time and time again.
These were the shockwaves created by Kanami's blows against Atlas' body.
Much to the surprise of the titan of strength, this diminutive looking woman had actually managed to humiliate him in such an unforgivable manner.
No, not a woman. This was a beast from below given a trickster's form!
"Get away from me, dog!!"
Atlas kicked Kanami from down below and sent her flying off him.
In the brief time that he was able to scramble to his feet, Kanami had landed on all fours like some sort of cat.
Now, Atlas could see her eyes were so brightly aglow that even her pupils were no longer visible.
Her teeth had also grown far too big for her mouth, and she was beginning to sprout dark black scales all over her face.
And Atlas wasn't exactly sure, but it was almost like she was growing bigger..?
Kanami crossed the distance between herself and Atlas in one single bound.
She struck him in the midsection with enough force to crack even this ancient being's rib.

Atlas did not let the pain of his injury take him away from the battle on his hands.
He threw his own punch which Kanami easily slipped past leaving less than an inch of space between them.
Kanami targeted Atlas' left knee that she had already cut to hell earlier in their bout.
She kicked him three times in quick succession before the bone popped out of his skin and the titan went down with a painful howl.
Kanami grabbed Atlas by his dirty blonde hair and punched him in the face with her free hand.
And again..
And again…
Abaddon only stopped counting his sister's punches when she got to around the 210 mark.
He didn't really see a point to it anymore if he was honest. She had broken her previous record already.
"Honey." Bekka urged.
"Ah, sorry. I just know my father would want to see something like this."
The dragon pressed stop recording on his phone and stuffed the device back into his pocket.
Together he and Bekka resumed their path towards the gates of Tartarus.
With the Euphrates already devolved into a full frenzy, the two were able to make their way towards the gates relatively unempeded.
But when the two were no more than halfway to their destination, they were suddenly ensnared.
A thick metal chain quite similar to the one binding Tartarus was now wrapped around their bodies from the neck down.
But despite this turn of events, neither of them seemed too concerned.
Bekka struggled against the chains before eventually giving up.
"Brute force ain't cutting it for me. How bout you?"
Abaddon flexed his muscles against the chains but they surprisingly held firm.
"Not for me either. I wonder if these are the chains the nords used to bind that big dog…"
"Ask later, but for now I just want to get out of here."
"I'll burn us out." Abaddon opened his mouth and began gathering dark flames at the back of his throat.
"Wait, wait, wait! I'm too close, you'll singe my hair!" Bekka warned.
"You'd be cute bald."
"Abaddon!"
"Alright, alright."
Bekka saw her husband's teeth sharpen in his mouth and she became curious about what he was going to do.
Against all of her expectations, he bit the chains.
Watching Abaddon eat his confinement was like watching the famous cartoon scene with the dogs and spaghetti.
Bekka couldn't say whether she was just hungry or her husband somehow made eating metal look appealing, but she eventually caved and decided to try it herself.
It wasn't the strangest thing she had decided to eat out of curiosity afterall.
They were almost done devouring their impromptu snack when a giant ball of flame suddenly descended from the sky atop their heads
"…Shit." Bekka cursed as she chewed.
Her last expression was one of immense dissatisfaction as she and her husband were engulfed in a mass of sun fire.
Nearby, Hyperion and Crius observed the couple burn.
While outwardly calm, the two titans were on the verge of inner turmoil.
Watching Abaddon and his bride eat those chains like they were dry ramen noodles was both horrific and absurd.
Those chains were a collective effort on the part of the gods.
A part of it was from the famous gleipnir that bound Fenris, sure. But they also used the ones crafted by Thanatos which were capable of binding death itself, and the ones that would ordinarily be fated to bind Prometheus.
Atlas couldn't even break them if you gave him a round of steroid shots and a couple jugs of protein powder.
These chains were specifically designed to suppress powers and bind individuals with titanic strength.
But they never expected anyone to eat them.
"The horror from the abyss is truly an abhorrent existence." Hyperion spat.
He waited and waited for his brother to eventually say something, but no words ever left his mouth.
While it wasn't unusual to find his brother with a lack of words, it felt a lot different this time around.
Horror showed in Hyperion's eyes as he glanced ever so slightly to the left of him.
There, he could see something holding his brother by the neck as if he were just some children's toy.
It looked like a man, but it was comprised of red, glittering flesh that looked like stars in the sky. Two horns and a thick draconic tail confirmed that he was not human.
The familiar two-toned hair was the only indicator of it's identity.
Despite possessing no mouth, Hyperion and Crius both heard his voice loud and clear.
"My daughter… made me that cloak. Even the rest of you lives spent in servitude to me would not be enough to make our losses equivalent."
Abaddon tightened his grip on Crius' neck and the titan began to struggle in vain.
"…I don't know why they sent the likes of you against me. Do neither of you understand who I am..? Do you not know what I can do..?"
"It will matter little with your end!" Hyperion's skin became an even shinier bronze color and his hair became a massive roaring flame.
Abaddon's eyes narrowed.
-
Out in the vastness of space, the earth was continuing it's usual slow rotation around the sun.
Scientists could observe nothing strange about anything leading up to the events of that day before an event known as 'Anomaly- 000'.
The sun began to fluctuate abnormally as if it were a candle at a kid's birthday party.
Gravity around the massive star was multiplied exponentially until the sun was being forcefully compressed.
It shrank to nearly a third of it's size and continued to grow smaller and smaller with every passing minute.
Neither humanity nor the supernatural community would ever get an answer for the anomaly that occurred on that day.
Only those in the know took it as a sign that the war against the gods was reaching proportions never thought possible.
-
Hyperion suddenly clutched his chest dramatically as if he were undergoing a major cardiac event.
The building surge of power he displayed earlier had not only been snuffed out, but he was now weaker than he had ever been in his entire life.
He felt as if he could physically feel Abaddon squeezing his heart; threatening to crush it at the first wrong word or act of defiance.
It was no surprise that he passed out while foaming at the mouth.
Abaddon returned the sun to normal not long after his enemy fainted.
He wasn't a fool after all, and he understood the terrible implications for humans on earth if he were to completely snuff out the sun.
However, his actions had affected every earthen sun deity. Not just Hyperion.
He certainly wasn't going to be winning any popularity contests anytime soon, but he was so mad that he didn't care.
That cloak was the first gift one of his children had ever given him that wasn't a mudpie or a full diaper.
He couldn't let Hyperion get by with ruining it.
Abaddon raised his leg and crushed the head of the titan with his heel.
He then kicked the lifeless body of the sun titan towards the wall of flame that was still burning brightly.
A large clawed hand reached out of the flame to catch the body.
It had black, leathery skin that was burned badly in a few patches and black claws the length of skis.
It pulled the body inside of the fire with it and a series of chewing sounds could be heard amidst the crackle of the flames. Making this scene reminiscent of one from a horror movie.
Crius was in shock.
He knew that the difference in strength between them and the black dragon would be great, but he never expected it to be to such an alarming degree.
His brother had died right before his eyes and he didn't even understand what happened.
And if Abaddon was able to kill Hyperion that easily… What did that say for him?
The time to spring the trap was long past. They hadn't done much to tire out Abaddon like they wanted, so this situation would have to be left in the hands of their betters now.
Through his compressed airway, he screamed out the name of their one possible hope.
"MOTHERRR!!!"
The cavern floor began to rumble and shine beneath Abaddon's toes.
He stared down at the ground blankly, finally realizing why his wife had felt unnerved ever since they got near this cavern.
'Shit…'
In the very next moment, he and Bekka disappeared.
Along with every other soldier of theirs whose feet were touching the ground.
