“Ranran, maybe, Mo Xiuchen was afraid you’d find out he and Ah Mu had two layovers on their way back home. That might be why he chose to call you during a layover,” Gu Kai looked at Wen Ran with a genial smile, soup spoon still in hand.

“Did he call the airline to confirm?”

The next day, she didn’t wake up until nearly noon. Gu Kai came home to have lunch with her. After lunch, he dropped her off at her company. In the afternoon, Wen Jin picked her up and took her home.

When Qing Feng and Qing Yang saw her return, they were surprised and overjoyed.

“Miss Wen, hello, I’m Jiang Liu, Yueting’s boyfriend. I need a favour.”

The voice that seeped into her ears was calm and gentle, reminding her of someone. She blinked, replying calmly, “What help do you need?”

“Yueting misunderstood something about me, and she has been ignoring me lately. As I can’t find her, I was hoping you could help me get in touch with her.”

From his voice, it was clear that Jiang Liu was anxious about Shen Yuting. The tone of his speech was no longer warm and gentle but carried a hint of melancholy and sadness.

Wen Ran did not try to call Shen Yuting immediately. Instead, she dialed Gu Kai’s number first, intending to ask him about it and see if he knew anything.

The phone rang for a while before Gu Kai finally answered. His voice floated over, “Ranran, what’s up? Is Mo Xiuchen back?”

Gu Kai’s questioning could be attributed to the fact that none of them knew exactly when Mo Xiuchen and Qin Mu would arrive in G City.

“It’s not about Mo Xiuchen’s return, Brother. I was wondering if Sister Ting has been working these days?”

“Oh, you mean Yueting. She’s on a business trip. Soon after you left for D Country, she left as well. Why, do you need to talk to her?”

Wen Ran paused for a moment at this. No wonder Jiang Liu couldn’t find Shen Yuting.

“Do you know where Sister Ting is on her business trip?”

“I do miss her, but I’m actually doing someone a favour. Since Sister Ting’s return flight is in the afternoon, I might just pick her up from the airport.”

Gu Kai asked, surprised, “What do you mean by ‘doing someone a favour’? I don’t understand.”

Wen Ran smirked, figuring that Gu Kai wasn’t aware of the problems between Shen Yuting and Jiang Liu. Since Shen Yuting hadn’t told him about it, she decided not to divulge more and said mysteriously, “It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand. You can ask Sister Ting when we get to the airport.”

“Pft, if you’re not going to say it then forget it. You even think I’d be interested.”

Gu Kai’s reaction was prideful, hearing Wen Ran’s unwillingness to expound, he didn’t push further, instead acting as if he wasn’t even interested.

Half an hour later, Wen Ran’s phone rang once more. It was Gu Kai’s voice on the line, “Ranran, I’m at your factory gate. Come out now and let’s go to the airport and pick up Yueting, as well as Mo Xiuchen and Ah Mu.”

“Okay, I’ll be down immediately.”

Wen Ran put away her makeup box and rose from her office desk, heading for the door.
