Chapter 408 Polva Mana Dungeon Cleared!
"NO! NO!! NO!!!! WHO?! WHO THE FUCK ARE THEY?! WHICH ADVENTURER PARTY ARRIVED HERE FIRST?!"
The leader of Krevar City's second dungeon extermination party, Dodge Simmons, raged upon realizing that the dungeon core was nowhere to be found.
Their party exhausted every resource and risked their lives multiple times, narrowly escaping the enormous jaws of the core's guardian shark, only to discover that another party had already beaten them to it.
Naturally, Dodge's entire group was consumed with fury and disappointment.
Shortly after the Krevar City adventurer party began releasing their negative emotions, the entire dungeon rumbled, and since this wasn't Dodge's first time in a mana dungeon, he knew what was happening.
The dungeon…was collapsing—proof that its core had already been seized by others.
"EVERYONE! GET READY! WE SHALL CHALLENGE THE ADVENTURER PARTY WHO STOLE THE DUNGEON CORE FROM US!"
Exactly one hundred and eighty seconds after a dungeon's core is removed from its original location, the entire dungeon will collapse and vanish, expelling everything that isn't part of it to a spot near its entrance.
This rule only works for mana dungeons though, as Lord Dungeons remain intact even after the death of its Lord.
…Preparing to return to Balkrow City alone, Shye was surprised to see adventurers materializing out of thin air one after another, filling the barren landscape with nearly three hundred people.
The dungeon's entrance then slowly collapsed and dissipated into blue mana particles, returning every bit of mana it stole back to the area.
Soon after, life returned to the barren area.
Vitality returned to withered trees and the soil, which had already dried up, returned to its original loamy state, allowing both people and wildlife to live in the area once more.

Of course, this transformation also took place in the three towns and five villages whose territories had previously become uninhabitable.
Observing the mesmerizing transformations unfolding around them, the frustration and disappointment in the hearts of the adventurers who had already reached the boss floor gradually subsided as they were reminded of the true significance of clearing a mana dungeon.
Simply being alive and restoring life to the world was sufficient; rewards were of secondary importance.
However, the extent of the restoration's effects varied, and the closer one got to the dungeon's core, the less ineffective the mesmerizing restoration process was.
While adventurer parties like Luna's, who were still far from conquering the dungeon, remained relatively relaxed, there was one party seething with anger: Dodge's.
"May we know which party seized the dungeon's core? We were in close proximity to its shores and find it unjust that it was taken from us so suddenly. If you still hold your honor as adventurers, let's resolve this through a party skirmish!" Dodge exclaimed without hiding the fact that he was utterly furious.
Well…even he knew that challenging an entire party for the ownership of the core was a bit too much, however, their party was so close to seizing the core that it was hard for him to simply let go.
He had to at least try, mentioning the "honor of adventurers" in hopes of prompting the party who conquered the dungeon to reveal themselves.
Unbeknownst to Dodge, it wasn't an entire party that cleared the dungeon, but rather a solitary young man, who now looked at Dodge's entire party with a shadow of a mocking smile.
'Hmm…Showing off here would be fine but it would only net me around 300 points, not even enough to level up a single attribute…' Shye mused, continuing to observe the frustrated party's desperate actions. 'Fine…I'll give you guys a chance to challenge me, however, not in such a small viewership area like this one…'
Seeing that no one was responding to their challenge, Dodge gnashed his teeth and clenched his fists hard for a few moments before speaking again: "Fine, we'll get wind of your "achievements" anyway. Since you guys are not keen on revealing yourselves, we shall pay a visit to your city and challenge you there."
Left with no choice but to threaten the "party" that conquered the dungeon, Dodge turned around and led his party home with a sour face.
Meanwhile, Shye's attention was captured by a loud voice with a worried undertone.
"Crowley! It's good that you managed to survive!" Luna exclaimed while walking hurriedly towards him. "What befell you was my responsibility. As the leader, I should have delved deeper into the dungeon's rules. I hope you can forgive me for my oversight."
After saying her apologetic piece, Luna gave Shye a profound bow, causing him to feel slightly embarrassed as he was not used to such formal conversations.
"I-It's fine. I managed to make it out in one piece anyway…"

Three weeks later.
As the proud sun descended from its heavenly throne, the biting darkness of the night began to consume the entire world once more.
Luckily, before absolute nightfall, the party of slightly dejected young adventurers was able to return to their home city.
"Sigh…at least I'll be able to sleep well tonight…" Ulfreign sighed, going his own way shortly after.
Since their extermination party failed to conquer the dungeon first, all of them, except for Shye, were lost in their thoughts.
Hence, some of them didn't even say anything before splitting from the party.
"Sigh…Again, I apologize for my shortcomings, Crowley. I'll do better next time."
Slightly dejected, Luna went her own way as well.
Honestly speaking, Shye liked Luna's personality; hence, he decided to share the rewards with her.
As for the other bastards? They can only dream of having a share of the rewards for clearing the Polva Mana Dungeon.
Walking towards the inn he usually stayed at, Shye whistled a merry tune. Then, upon arriving, he ate a quick meal in the hotel's lobby before tucking into his luxurious hotel bed.
'Hahaha! I wonder how many of them would complain in front of our guild after knowing the truth? Ahhh…I can't wait to see their faces…'
