Gacha Kingdom Building

Chapter 7: Keep on Rolling

These days, being at home meant I had to adhere to a routine... The Gacha routine that is.

There was no reason to delay it, and so today as well I focused on the [Gacha Kingdom Building] menu to open it.

I checked just in case to see if any of the information had changed, but since this time I hadn't leveled up, to say my hopes weren't high would be an understatement. It wasn't shocking then that as I had thought, nothing had changed at all.

Since I'm quite content with what my Gift already allows me to do there was no reason to feel down about not having any changes though.

So, after having confirmed the state of my Gift, I simply continued as normal, focusing on the [Gacha Ticket] menu.

In there I saw that  I owned 0 tickets, but that was bound to change as soon as I used the [Claim Daily Tickets] function.

Since I'm still level 2, the amount of tickets I got was only a meager 2.

I wasn't that close to a level up, but the amount of experience I got today was pretty good, so if I managed to keep the pace it should be no time until level 3, which would increase the amount of tickets I get daily.

After confirming that the information on the number of tickets had changed to:

Amount Of Owned Tickets: 2

I couldn't help but think about how much level-ups impacted my Gift.

Not only do they increase the number of Gacha Tickets, but I can also use them to forcibly increase my mana pool.

Doing so would allow me to either roll more in the Mana Banners or get stronger items in it.

There is also the fact that the amount of [Kingdom Points] I get would also rise, so leveling up was of utmost importance for this Gift.

I guess most Gifts are like that, even the basic ones would appear to be more powerful as their users get stronger through level-ups.

Still, [Gacha Kingdom Building] has a lot of synergy with every level-up, it almost seems to be designed with the intent of its user progressing through levels.

Since there wasn't much use hoarding the Gacha Tickets, I focused on the [Banners] menu to start rolling once again.

Last time at the [Armor Banner] in the [Mana Banners] menu I only got a single ring, so I kinda felt like trying a Gacha Ticket in the same banner but this time not in the [Mana Banners] section.

Even more so considering the [Mana Banners] seem to be very limited due to my low amount of mana.

Still, thinking about the chances of attracting unwanted attention, the desire to test other Banners aside from the [Skill Banners] went away pretty quickly.

I get a very limited number of Tickets each day, so focusing on the sure way to get stronger was probably more effective. It's also way less worrisome with fewer drawbacks.

Due to that, I decided to spend the tickets I currently had on the [Skills Banner] after all.

As usual, my mind once again drifted away, my consciousness being entirely overwritten by a never-ending whiteness that seemed to have no meaning or purpose, which left me in a completely blank state.

Thankfully this doesn't last as long, it's so quick that it's almost imperceptible really.

Still, even though I'm getting used to it, and it doesn't really bother me, it's a strange sensation that I never fail to notice.

As soon as the sensation came, it went away, so without wasting any time at all, I checked what the [Skills Banner] had gotten me this time:

[Appraisal]

Active skill, for every 10 uses of this skill, a single mana point is spent. At higher levels, more things can be appraised, and the amount of information increases. It should also be noted that this skill can be blocked.

[Reading Speed Up]

Passive skill, Grants a small boost to the user's reading speed. Only works with texts and if the user is capable of reading them. Please note that this skill is active at all times, although the user can deactivate it anytime he desires.

I see, this time there were no combat skills.

Since the first two times I had rolled on the [Skills Banner] I got combat skills, I was quite confident that another one would pop up.

Thus I felt a bit down about this time's results. Maybe I was playing too safe with my Gift after all, and perhaps I should try another banner next time...

But that's a matter for next time, even though [Reading Speed Up] is not useful in the slightest inside a dungeon, it's actually really good for everyday life, so I didn't get mad at it or anything like that.

On the brighter side, the [Appraisal] skill has its uses both inside and outside the dungeon.

If used on someone without the ability to block it, I should be able to confirm their Gifts and skills, and when dealing with unknown circumstances, like the goblin from today that managed to catch Roy by surprise, I should be able to have at least a bit of information to not so easily fall for a surprise attack.

I don't know how much information I can gather from it, but I usually like to prepare myself and when dealing with unknown or dangerous factors I'm sure this skill will prove itself useful.

It also opens up the possibility for me to work as a scout of sorts, a position very much appreciated by most parties.

This time I got out of the [Skills] menu without checking the [Available Skills].

There was no reason for it to have changed and I wasn't in the mood to be even more let down by anything related to skills.

Even if something had changed it's not like I had any points from leveling up to invest in a skill so I'll just ignore it for now.

The next thing I wanted to check was the [Kingdom] menu, and so I focused on it.

Of course, inside the Kingdom itself, nothing had changed.

I still had 3 points from claiming [Kingdom Points] daily and having now claimed another 2 points, I found myself at a whooping 5 Kingdom Points!

What would I waste- I mean, invest the Kingdom Points on?

With 5 points I could buy a well for the kingdom, or I could save it since I can always just use the sink in my kitchen. But who knows, if a water shortage happens I would be totally safe.

Better yet, I could buy a change of clothes for my citizens with these points... except that I don't really have any citizens aside from myself.

Yeah, there's still not much to do with these, so I just saved the points until I could get something actually useful from them.

And so, the last thing to do today was to roll on the [Mana Banners].

Of course, I waited until before going to bed to roll on it since it would decidedly put an end to my energy today.

Today's target was the same as yesterday's.

I rolled on the [Armor Banner] again, hoping to get something better than the ring from last time.

So, with already mixed feelings about my rolls today, I put my hopes in the [Armor Banner] of the [Mana Banners].

And seeing what is in front of me, I can't help but wish to return to the blank state I was just a moment prior.

What I got this time is as good as what I got last time. Exactly the same thing, the same ring.

That was it for the day, I didn't even have the energy to get frustrated about it and just sleep it off.
