Chapter 101: The Rampaging Nin
Chapter 101: The Rampaging Nin
Dakki turned to look at Mask and gave him her heartfelt thanks. Thank you.
She really meant it; every player who ventured deep into the Highlands of John were core members and elites of her guild. Every level lost was a massive loss, especially when levelling up in the higher levels was way more difficult. Other guilds wouldnt wait for them to catch up either, and that only made the gap between them even harder to bridge.
Drako Yau only replied with a smiley emoji and continued to observe Nins every move. Unlike Dakki, he wasnt that optimistic. He had a greater understanding of how scary the boss was when he analysed it from the perspective of a game designer.
If it wasnt for the brainwave technology, this boss was practically unbeatable in the keyboard-and-mouse era. Players motions and movements were far superior with the brainwave system, which patched the flaw of keyboard-and-mouse games, but things were still far from optimistic.
The tree javelin throw alone was a major threat. Putting that aside, basically every single one of its attacks could bring Zephyrwolf from full Health down to the brink of death. Its outrageously high Attack and invulnerability to all attacks apart from fire meant that players were supposed to overwhelm it with numbers.
The situation was stable for now, yet if Nin suddenly underwent some sort of change, he wasnt confident that he could simply look from the sidelines anymore.
The fight had gone on for 30 minutes, and the event was going to end in 15 minutes. It would be over if they couldnt defeat Nin before the event ended.
Perhaps the heavens didnt want their efforts to go to waste, Nin finally started changing after so long. The horn on its nose, which they had all overlooked, gradually grew brighter. It was a circular glow as bright as a lightbulb, creating a stark contrast with its grey body.
Drako Yaus squad members werent the only ones who felt the sudden surge in threat; those from Allurers also sensed the change. Dakki amped up her dance, and everyone could feel themselves tense up as some sort of power surged from within them.
When the dance ended, Dakki gasped for breath and laughed bitterly, This is the Dance of Genbu, my greatest buff skill. Everyones Defence is increased by 20 per cent for 15 minutes, which is why I chose to use it now. Im wasted, both stamina and mana wise. Its up to you guys now.
It was also a major limitation of the Dancer class. Apart from costing mana, dancing skills also exhausted physical stamina and mental strength. The red alert which indicated depletion of stamina was flashing in Dakkis vision.

Thank you. Drako Yau nodded and said, Poet, go all out. Everyone else, disturb Nin with all youve got.
Zephyrwolf chuckled bitterly and patted his monstrous companion. Bro, whered your flames go? You could use wind and fire skills back then.
The demon wolf king gave him a helpless look. After it became Zephyrwolfs summoned beast, the souls which belonged to Lelei and Huth had transgressed into the afterlife, and a new soul inhabited the husk of the demon wolf king. It was basically Zephyrwolfs child now, the two of them growing up together.
Not that Zephyrwolf was complaining for real. The two stepped forward to engage Nin, despite knowing that they couldnt deal any damage. Annoying the enemy could also be considered a sort of mental attack, much like how humans would instinctively slap mosquitoes whenever they see one, regardless of whether the pesky insects bite them or not. For Nin, they were basically annoying mosquitoes. They had to create opportunities for the mages to do their work.
Idyllic Poet had started her bombardment before Drako Yau even instructed her to.
Nin started growling, its horn gleaming brighter and brighter like a charging laser cannon. It then snapped its head and pointed it at the most annoying mosquito which had been bothering it the entire timeDanting.
Drako Yau took on a relieving role, while Zephyrwolf stayed back to defend Idyllic Poet and Greenstone. Among the three melee fighters, Danting was the only one who had been engaging Nin the entire time.
Danting was having a lot of fun even though his attacks were mostly ineffective. He also had a little trick up his sleeveArray of Pyroblast. On the other hand, Nin failed to hit him even once the entire time.
Danting was very nimble and had great talent in gaming. He had almost perfected how to use his Magic Swordsman class at this point. With his agile movement and teleportation skill, Nin couldnt do anything about him. Having endured so long, Nin locked onto Danting right away after it started rampaging.
Pzzzt
The rings of light started shrinking while the sharp horn was pointed at Danting. As though the entire world had gone silent for a brief moment, a ear-deafening boom followed.
A pillar of white light shot out from its horn and headed straight for Danting.
Geez! This monster is frigging crazy! Danting was no fool either. The moment Nin started targeting him with its horn, he had made preparations. By the time it shot out the white pillar of light, the silver array was already completed. Danting immediately scurried into the magic array.
However, Danting wasnt the only one who was smart; Nin wasnt as foolish as they thought.
Dantings teleportation array had a limitation: he could only appear at the rear of his target. As such, when Nin saw Danting enter the teleportation array, it also turned its head and body to its rear. The beam swept across the ground like a massive laser blade.
Woah!
A player from Allurers was coincidentally standing within range of the sweeping pillar of light. While Nin was fairly slow overall, it could turn its head rather quickly. The moment the pillar of light touched the player, he turned into white particles and vanished.
Getting hit meant certain death.
Danting was still emerging from the teleportation array when he found Nins hostile gaze staring straight at him. The pillar of light seemed to be descending from heaven as Nin twisted its head to cut through Danting with the beam.
Damn This is
Even Danting was caught off guard. The next moment though, he could feel something heavy pulling onto his right leg, and he dropped to the ground immediately after he fully exited the array. The beam vapourised a few strands of his hair and nothing else.
It was a really outstanding move.
Back when Nin started firing off its beam of death, Drako Yau had already sprung into action upon seeing Danting enter the teleportation array. He could tell what Nins plans were because the moment Danting summoned the array, Nin made a smug look and turned its eyes to glance at its back.
Realising such, Drako Yau ran straight to Nins rear and summoned a fire crystal giant. It was already squatting with its fingers intertwined at its abdomen when it spawned in. He made a quick leap onto the giants palms, and the giant sprung straight while pushing its palms up, launching him into the air like a rocket.
Drako Yau reached Danting, who couldnt evade the beam, just in time to pull his leg and drop to the ground together.
