Gangster System: I Will Become The Greatest Gangster!

Chapter 20 Comfortable

Laying down comfortably on the sofa, I was quickly starting to get bored as I got up despite the pain I was in.

Sitting still all day was impossible for someone like me, who is always active and feels like a bum when they waste time.

Seeing all the bloodstains on the luxurious sofa that I was sure was expensive, I felt guilty, as I covered it up with some pillows and said to myself that I would pay them back when I got my hands on some extra cash.

Even if they didn't need it, my pride wouldn't allow me to be indebted to someone.

And a cop and a nurse couldn't possibly earn that much, so they were probably reliant on their parents or something like that, so it wouldn't be good to exploit them.

As I got up, even though I was in quite a lot of pain, I was itching to move around.

'System. Do you think I could get some exercise done without messing up my wounds even more?' I asked.

[The rapid recovery will last for the rest of the week, so you won't die unless you get injured badly again. And some exercise might even boost your recovery, but be careful.]

With that, I was eager to get out of there despite promising Bella that I would stay on the sofa and wait for her to return from work so that she could dismiss me.

As I stood up, Angela came out of her room and was wearing a tight set of gym clothing, showing off her assets even more.

She had her short wavy brown hair into a small bun and definitely had top-class looks, even without any makeup on.

"You look nice," I complimented with a smile, as she just huffed and looked away.

"Stop acting like a child, and lend me a shirt, please. As you can see, I need something to wear."

Going into her room, and coming out a few seconds later, she carried with her a small plain black t-shirt and flung it over to me.

"Aren't you going to tell me to stay on the sofa and rest, or ask where I'm planning on going?"

"Nope. You can do as you please, just don't get yourself killed," she said, as she walked over to the kitchen counter and began cutting up some fruits.

Putting on the t-shirt, that was quite tight and highlighted my muscular physique, I walked over to her side.

As I walked, each time I would sway to the left, I would experience a sharp pain in my left shoulder, which caused me to limp slightly as I joined her at the kitchen counter.

"So... Angela. Where are you going?" I asked as I snatched a piece of apple that she had cut up.

I could see that it had annoyed her as she pointed the knife at me, before answering, "The gym downstairs."

"You're going to cut me now? Stop kidding yourself. You seem to be struggling with those fruits."

"And this building even has a gym?! Where's your butler?"

She seemed to be slightly irritated after I teased her about her rich father and about getting with her, but I could also tell that she just wanted some attention.

Typical.

Acting as if she wanted me to go away, but actually, she wanted me to stay.

Although I was only 17, the way I carried myself made her forget about my age and it wasn't like a few months made that big of a difference.

"Care to make your captive a smoothie as well?" I joked.

"Ugh. Such a leech," she commented, as she grabbed a few more fruits to make enough for two.

I pretended to be upset by her words, before continuing to tease and annoy her until she finally cracked.

Unable to hold it back anymore, she let out a little chuckle.

"I thought you were angry?" I asked sarcastically.

"Alright, alright. You got me. You can stop now."

Drinking our smoothies, they were greatly refreshing, but I couldn't help but still be hungry after being unconscious for three days.

The IV I was hooked up to sustained my body with the nutrients that I needed, but it was still not nearly as satiating as eating food for myself, especially since I was recovering and quite an active individual.

My stomach growled slightly, causing Angela to laugh, as I asked her, "You got anything else for me to eat?" with a sheepish smile.

It felt shameful to ask after all she had already done for me, but she seemed pretty fine with it and quite comfortable around me.

"Help yourself."

"Thanks!"

Jumping up, I headed over to the fridge, and everything I saw was healthy, natural, and organic.

'These girls really care about their health,' I thought to myself, and I even I didn't eat that well.

I made sure to get my daily protein in and some fruits and vegetables, but not nearly as much as them.

Probably because I couldn't afford to spend the same way they did.

But I guess it paid off, considering how flawless their skin was and how well-shaped their bodies were.

Grabbing the carton of eggs, I offered to cook her some as well, but she denied, as I made myself at home and began looking around the kitchen for some oil and a pan.

She didn't seem to mind how I was acting as if it was my home, and was even amused by it.

It seemed as though after taking a bullet for someone and being in such an intense situation together; it was hard to feel awkward around each other as she watched me struggle to operate her electric stove.

"So useless, you do it like this," she said as she got up and lent me a hand.

Cooking 4 eggs, and placing them on a plate, I sat beside Angela, who was still slowly drinking her smoothie, as I wolfed them down.

I held back my appetite and felt like I could empty her entire fridge myself, but after eating the 4 eggs and finishing the remnants of my smoothie, I wasn't that hungry any longer.

But I also wasn't full and wanted to join her at the gym.

It was bad to train after just eating, but considering how hungry I was, it felt as though I hadn't eaten at all.

Cleaning up after myself and also washing Angela's cup after she gave me an intimidating glare, I asked, "Can I join you at the gym?"

"You really want to exercise, even with all your wounds?"

"Well, you got me cleaning up with all these wounds, so why wouldn't I be able to exercise? And don't you have a cleaner or something, anyway?"

Chuckling, she responded, "You are one funny, crazy, and weird guy."

"Is that a yes?"

"Yes," she confirmed while laughing, as we both prepared to leave.

"But you better not tell Bella. She looks kind and gentle, but she is scary when she is angry and is very strict and passionate about helping all of her patients. If she finds out... She'll kill us both."

"It's always the quiet ones," I commented as I agreed and followed her out of her apartment.
