Chapter 35 - Cannot Distinguish Between Real and Fake
[35. Cannot Distinguish Between Real and Fake]
[Team] Lonely like Snow: Let’s finish the trading task first.
[Team] White Lotus: Are you really going to kneel down and pledge submission??
[Team] Half Crazy Smile: I request for audio and video!
[Team] Lonely like Snow: ...
This group of twisted bastards...I didn’t say to wait until after the task is completed so that I can prepare a microphone and video recorder.
It was already 7:30pm and by this time news broadcasts were also ending. The three of them had actually spent three whole hours grinding through the trading task.......Once again, they travelled for about ten minutes from the novice village to the merchant located in the main city. They sold their items and still had three thousand six hundred left before they could reach one hundred thousand profit in total. And so, again, they travelled from this main city to another city....and eventually managed to complete the task just before 8pm.
The moment the task was completed, the three couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. To spend three whole hours on a task was just way too grinding. It was grinding to the point that a little goblin could have converted into an old monster......
[Team] White Lotus: I ‘m going to go eat first. Roommate, prepare to kneel down and pledge submission!
[Team] Lonely like Snow: ...
[Team] Half Crazy Smile: Sitting and waiting to see Roommate kneel and pledge submission.
[Team] Lonely like Snow: ...
Bai Lian Hua minimized the game screen. Probably because he sat before his computer for too long, the moment he stood up, he felt dizzy and his vision temporarily went black. For a moment, Bai Lian Hua thought he had become short sighted, but fortunately, he had not yet reached that stage.
The remaining two people in his dormitory had already finished eating and did not show any intention of having a late night snack. The lonely Bai Lian Hua could only miserably head off alone.
The school cafeteria had closed after the final exams were completed. At that time, the schools BBS was filled with cries calling for the school cafeteria to reopen its doors because A University did not allow for takeaways.
A University is an engineering university and the students were mostly homebodies. Almost all of them had mushrooms growing out of them and someone had actually set the highest record of not leaving the university grounds for two whole years.....Also, another characteristic of engineering universities was that.....it was mostly men compared to women! And of the small female population, almost half are old grannies and a third were cafeteria workers.....What? You’re asking about the girls studying at this university? They are not girls! They are dinosaurs! Just with their appearance, you could understand why looks are so important in a relationship! Ok fine, that is probably just an exaggeration. All in all, the boys of the school have given up and decided to venture outside of the university in search for their other half. As for the girls in the university.....they can only continue to wait for their spring to arrive.....
Lets use Bai Lian Hua as an example. He is in the science and engineering field, more specifically the architecture department.......as for high school, he was also a science student. In the three years of high school life, there were many girls that he got along with well, but unfortunately since he went to A university he never got a girlfriend........
Although he couldn’t remember where he saw it, Bai Lian Hua remembered once seeing a post with the title, “What’s good about an engineering man?”. Within this post, there was a list of 18 merits which included, being able to repair things, likes children and small animals, does not watch □....and most of the responses to this post were “What? I actually have all these merits?”and “No way!”. Others were just complaints, “The OP actually said that engineering men don’t discuss pornographic topics.....so fake” and “I decided: I won’t marry non-engineering men!! But it’s so depressing that I am a male.”

in short Bai Lian Hua made a single conclusion after browsing through that post: Engineering men are best at playing with their own guns (kknote: metaphorically....lol).......as you can see, this is how lonely the life of a student majoring in engineering is.....
Bai Lian Hua slipped out of the school gates as the hot summers wind blew, unable to bring down the temperature outside. Luckily, just outside the school gates was a small and cheap eatery. As he arrived at the place he had visited last time for hot and sour noodles, Bai Lian Hua called out to the owner and ordered a bow of mildly spicy dumplings. He then proceeded to sit down and play with his phone waiting for the dumplings to be served.......
Suddenly sensing that something was before him, Bai Lian Hua raised his head and inevitably felt a little surprised by the appearance of someone standing silently before him. Are you a f*cking ghost? To think that you don’t make a sound when you walk....wait a second...huh? This ghost brother looks familiar.......Have we met before?
”Bai Senior what a coincidence. We meet again.” Hearing those words, Bai Lian Hua’s speculation was confirmed. However, no matter how hard he racked his brains, he couldn’t remember him...
”Um...... Hello, do you know me?”As his dumplings were placed onto the table before him, Bai Lian Hua looked at the person opposite him who’s gaze flickered momentarily with disappointment.
”I was the one who helped Senior carry the computer case the other day. Song Qingge.”
Bai Lian Hua said oh a few times. He guessed that his expression at the moment would be saying: So it its you!
”I couldn’t recognise you without your glasses...” Bai Lian Hua said, “You don’t have to call me senior.... Just call me Bai Lian Hua”
Suddenly, Bai Lian Hua seemed to remember something and the movement of his chopsticks stopped. “You’re called Song Qingge??”
”Yeah.”
If he remembered correctly ...... “You are in the computer science department??”
“Yeah.”
”Do I owe you 600yuan?? For hospital fee??”
”Yeah”
Very good. Bai Lian Hua placed down his chopsticks and pulled out his wallet from his pocket. He then counted 600 and handed it to Song Qingge. The money was the money that he had retrieved from the bank last time but Song Qingge did not turn up. Luckily, it had not been used otherwise he would have needed to ask for Song Qingge to wait for him to return from the bank.....
”That... I owe you six hundred. It’s six hundred right?”
Song Qingge did not accept it and with a tone what was not too high or too low, and in a volume that wasn’t too loud or too soft, he said: “You’re friend helped pay for it already.”
Ba Lian Hua froze for a few seconds: “Who helped me pay it back?”
“I don’t know.” It was three simple and clear words but it confused Bai Lian Hua....Someone helped him pay the money back? Is it Chu Zhongtian?.....Impossible. That kid is poorer than me.....Who else then? Li Bei and Zhou Nanjiang have no idea about this....could it be Senior Brother? Bai Lian Hua couldn’t help but be a little surprised. He and his senior brother were not that close.
As he worked back from the eatery to his dormitory, Bai Lian Hua continued to ponder over this.
”You said someone helped you pay back the money?” said Chu Zhongtian as he walked out of the bathroom. There was still water in his hair dripping down onto the floor. He grabbed a towel and rubbed his head. “That’s great! Congratulations!”
Bai Lian Hua looked at the computer in a daze: “But I don’t know who helped me....”
Chu Zhongtian glanced at him and climbed onto the upper bunk: “Rest assured. It was definitely not me. You don’t have to be too touched... even if you are my girlfriend, I would only help you pay half at most....”
Bai Lian Hua’s face filled with black lines: “I didn’t say that it was you! Don’t be so narcissistic!”
Bai Lian Hua squinted at the computer before him and then glanced at the time. F*ck.....to think that he was in daze in front of the computer for ten whole minutes, it was not scientific! As he thought this, he distractedly chewed onto his milk’s straw.
”That’s right...” Chu Zhongtian suddenly poked his head out from the upper bunk, “We receive the results tomorrow?”
Bai Lian Hua replied without turning his head around: “I didn’t do the exam, what does getting results have to do with me?”
Chu Zhongtian happily retorted: “Did you think that you don’t need to do the make up exam? Once the results are out, you and all the ones who have failed will need to take the make up exam.”
“So you mean I f*cking need to take the make up exam?” Bai Lian Hua was shocked!
”Yeah... unfortunately.” Chu Zhongtian nodded with a look of fake sorrow.
”My god....” Bai Lian Hua angrily crushed his milk carton. Li Bei, who had not spoken during the entire conversation suddenly inserted a sentence: “Lian Hua, a university life without make-up exams is an incomplete university life!”
”I feel that an incomplete one is quite good already....” This one sentence by Bai Lia Hua reflected the thoughts of many university students.
”Once the results are out, the make-up exam will be held next semester. Don’t get too excited about this though, the test questions are usually are little more difficult than the original exam.” added Chu Zhongtian.
”..........”
“However, if you repeat, it’ll be quite easy”
Repeat . This was something that was specially prepared for those who have failed to pass the exam...
Bai Lian Hua wiped his non-existent tears: “Do you think I can pass the exam?”
Chu Zhongtian scanned Bai Lian Hua up and down: ” This..... let’s leave it up to luck.”
Filled with immense sadness and disappointment, Bai Lia Hua went online. Once online, his chat system lit up. Needless to say, there was someone looking for him.
[Private chat] Lonely like Snow: White Lotus you finally went online! I refreshed so many times my refresh button is about to break!
[Private chat] White Lotus: If it breaks you can change it to another one...If the old one doesn’t go, the new one won’t come.
[Private chat] Lonely like Snow: Come, come. Come to the novice village [24,57,401] to trade.
[Private chat] White Lotus: Roommate you can’t wait to kneel and pledge submission?
[Private chat] Lonely like Snow: Pledge submission your sister. I want to use the Dragon Egg to exchange for it!
[Private chat] White Lotus:! ! ! Dragon egg? ! !
Did he read that correctly? Roommate actually said that he would use the Dragon Egg to exchange with him?? He actually didn’t really want to make Roommate kneel and pledge submission...... Besides, the equipment was originally meant to be for him....
[Private chat] Lonely like Snow: If you don’t hurry and come, then I’ll sell it on Taobao!
Seeing this, Bai Lian Hua decisively used the transmission skill to transmit to Roommates location. When he arrived, he saw Roommate already standing there and ready to exchange.
[System Tip: Players [Lonelyas Snow] used [Dragon Egg]... to trade with you for 0 gold 0 silver 1 copper. Do you accept? ]
Bai Lian Hua opened his inventory and placed the [Shili Lotus Ring] into the transaction bar.
[System Tip: Players [Lonely Snow] use [Dragon Egg]... to trade with you for 0 gold 0 silver 1 copper and [Shili Lotus Ring]. Do you accept? ]
After confirming that everything is correct, Bai Lian Hua clicked Accept.
[Private chat] White Lotus: You actually used a Dragon Egg to trade....
[Private chat] Lonely like Snow: I have always been a trustworthy person!
[Private chat] White Lotus: =_= How did you get the Dragon Egg? Taobao bought?
[Private chat] Lonely like Snow: I feel that I don’t need to make such a big sacrifice for you....
That’s true... The lowest price for a Dragon Egg on Taobao is known to be more than 500....They...They are just online friends and their relationship is not to the extent of gifting something like that.
[Private chat] White Lotus: How did you get it?
[Private chat] Lonely like Snow: Double sweeping. How is it? Am I amazing~
[Private chat] White Lotus: ==.
Bai Lian Hua opened the inventory and clicked onto the dragon egg. He then double-clicked to select “Hatch”.
[System prompt: You have successfully hatched the Dragon Egg. The attributes have been randomly assigned. Please name them.]
Bai Lian Hua thought for a moment and entered the word “Roommate” in the pet name column.
