Chapter 1892 Rebirthing Cultus

Chapter 1892  Rebirthing Cultus

On the way, Ryu thought a lot about where he might be going or what he might be doing. But what he didn't expect was that he would be brought to a Sect. What he expected even less was that this Sect would be founded by his wife. And what he expected even less than that was that he would be standing before a statue of hers as everyone looked to him to bow.

Ryu's lip twitched.

For one, unless it was his master or his parents, he never had the intention of bowing to anyone.

Second, even if it was his wife, if he bowed now, how would he even raise his head to her in the future?

'Just wait…' Ryu looked up at those crimson eyes and shook his head. He would definitely have to give this woman a piece of his mind when they finally met again.

Ryu seemed to have forgotten that he could contact Ailsa whenever he wanted now, but he conveniently forgot this little fact. After all, Ryu would never actually reprimand his wives. The most he would do was assert a little dominance in bed. But with Ailsa's current strength… he had exactly zero confidence in doing that right now.

So it was best to delay—no, definitely not delaying. Just waiting for when his wife wasn't so busy anymore. Yes, yes. It was just a matter of patience.

Star River, despite her status, also gave the statue a light bow. So she didn't notice that Ryu hadn't until she felt the several odd gazes aimed toward their general vicinity.

When she saw that Ryu was still standing ramrod straight while everyone else was on their knees, she couldn't help but frown.

"Don't look at me like that," Ryu said, giving her a glance. "I'm not bowing. Now, you really have two ways to handle this situation. Either you kick me out, or you just bring me to where you were meant to in the future."

Ryu shrugged a bit helplessly. This time, it truly wasn't his fault. How could he have expected that things would turn out this way? If he had known, he wouldn't have come to this Sect.

What Ryu didn't know was that he had unfairly blamed his wife a little this time. Ailsa had no idea that there was such a statue here, nor did she know that the disciples had come to respect her so much that they bowed before its altar.

Star River had a flash of annoyance in her eyes, but soon, she realized that Ryu was right. Ailsa had asked her to bring him here and bestow him with the title of Core Disciple. Whether he bowed or not, it wasn't her place to ignore that task at all even though those of the Sect had a great amount of respect for her as well.

The task alone went to show just how much faith Ailsa had in Ryu as well. That was because even the weakest Core Disciple in their Sect was of the Omniscient God Realm.

But what Star River didn't know was that if not for the oddity of it all, Ailsa would have directly promoted Ryu to Inheritor Disciple.

The reason why she hadn't was because an Inheritor Disciple was very close to a disciple in-name to the Patriarch and elders of a Sect. Ailsa knew that that would make their relationship a bit odd, and though she was a hint dissatisfied with Ryu right now, she wasn't to the point of humiliating her own husband.

None of this, though, was known by everyone in the surroundings. They just found that Ryu was particularly displeasing to the eye right now. If not for the fact they didn't want to disrespect Star River, and the fact this region was quite sacred as well due to the existence of the statue, they would have likely attacked Ryu already.

Ryu suddenly yawned beside himself. Even he was surprised by the change.

He was in the True Sky God Realm, but he had actually just yawned.

It only took him a bit to understand. He had pushed his mind to the very limits in the last few days. Right now, his mental fatigue was no less than a mortal that had been up and about all day. Even cultivators could need sleep given the right circumstance.

Ryu didn't mind it very much and just casually covered his mouth, but this only made everyone else several times more infuriated. Even Star River was on the brink of teaching Ryu a lesson, but she held back in the end.

"This is our Rebirthing Cultus Sect. The Goddess has told me to assign you the title of Core Disciple. Starting from today, you will receive all of the same resources and—"

Ryu held up a hand, shaking his head a bit wearily.

"That's fine, don't worry about it. Please just find me a place to sleep. When I wake up, I will challenge your Sect's Throne."

Star River froze, as did everyone in the surroundings.

What had he just said? Nôv(el)B\\jnn

What these people didn't know was that the only reason Ailsa hadn't asked him to challenge the Throne this time was because he had already done it once before to her knowledge. On top of that, with her sharpness, the moment she sensed Ryu again, she knew that he had challenged a second Throne in that time.

It had to be remembered that a Throne challenge wasn't just based on the strength of the Sect itself, but also the number of Thrones that the Throne in question was already supporting.

But just the fact that he was challenging the Throne at all was shocking to these people.

Ryu held a hand to his forehead, frowning somewhat. His balance was a bit off right now. However, just as he thought he stabilized himself, his vision went black.

Ryu's figure swayed and he fell.

Star River's expression changed and she hurried to catch him, only to realize that he was already unconscious.
