Chapter 25
C25 – Who will Regret It?
The week flew by in a flash, as everyone was immersed in intense revision for the upcoming final exams.
Qi Ning was the epitome of calm amidst the third-year students’ frenzy. His reputation had soared since the incident in the small woods, and now he was regarded with unprecedented admiration.
“You got this question wrong!” Qi Ning would often visit Class 6 to help Pang Yuejuan with her homework during his downtime.
Previously, such visits would have sparked a flurry of gossip about Qi Ning, but times had changed. Not only was there no whispering, but some classmates even went out of their way to flatter him.
“I’m certain I got this question right. I haven’t made any mistakes,” Pang Yuejuan, the only one bold enough to challenge Qi Ning within Sigu No. 1 Middle School, asserted.
“You’re absolutely mistaken,” Qi Ning countered.
On the last day of the week, tradition dictated that Ms. Cao would address the class. Her expression briefly stiffened with surprise upon spotting Qi Ning, then turned to concern as she noticed him assisting Pang Yuejuan.

”Qi Ning,” Ms. Cao said, her tone laced with discomfort.
Despite Pang Yuejuan’s low profile in class, Ms. Cao was well aware of her potential to gain admission to one of the top five universities, which is why she tended to be indulgent with her.
”Ms. Cao!” Qi Ning, though not fond of her, knew to treat her with the due respect.
“What are you doing in our class?” Ms. Cao asked, visibly upset.
“It’s nothing,” Qi Ning replied casually. “Yuejuan had some questions, so I came over to help.”
“Help her?” Ms. Cao’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “Pang Yuejuan is one of our grade’s top students. What makes you think she would need to ask you anything?”
Her words cast a hush over the classroom. Where once students might have taken the opportunity to tease Qi Ning, now they remained silent, lacking the courage to speak out. They all watched nervously, hoping Qi Ning wouldn’t react impulsively to Ms. Cao’s provocation.
Clearly, Pang Yuejuan shared the same opinion. She tugged gently at the hem of Qi Ning’s shirt and whispered, “The college entrance exams are just around the corner. Please, don’t stir up any trouble!”
Qi Ning nodded in assurance, signaling to her that she had nothing to worry about.
“Ms. Cao.” Now that Cao Faang was no longer Qi Ning’s homeroom teacher, there was no need for him to fear her. “I believe that after this exam, you’re going to regret the words you’ve just spoken.”
With that, Qi Ning departed from Class 6.
Watching Qi Ning’s retreating figure, Cao Faang sneered, “You think someone like you can make me regret anything? If anyone’s going to have regrets after this exam, it’ll be Wen Shangwei.”
Cao Faang felt this way because she was oblivious to the incident that had occurred on Monday.
And even if she had been informed, she would likely have feigned sympathy, lamenting, “Why would such an excellent student resort to cheating?”
In Qi Ning’s eyes, Cao Faang was undoubtedly the most insincere person he had ever encountered.
“Ning.” As soon as Qi Ning returned to the classroom, Fu Nian approached him with an air of secrecy.
