Chapter 30
C30 – Third Floor
“Just admit defeat!”
Qi Ning spoke as he observed Scorpion, who was gasping for air and half-kneeling on the ground.
Scorpion was in rough shape at the moment. His exposed skin was covered in red welts, even though Qi Ning had held back his full strength. Had Qi Ning not restrained himself, Scorpion’s body would have undoubtedly suffered extensive fractures.
Taking a deep breath and fighting through the pain, Scorpion looked up at Qi Ning and asked, “Did you use all your strength?”
With a smile, Qi Ning shook his head. “If I had, you wouldn’t be here; you’d be in the hospital right now.”
Scorpion could sense that Qi Ning wasn’t boasting.
With a downcast expression, he lowered his head and conceded, “You’re really strong. I’m no match for you.”
With those words, he collapsed onto the ground.
Qi Ning watched the struggling Scorpion and smiled faintly.
He could tell Scorpion wasn’t inherently bad and must have had a unique past. But now was not the time for storytelling. His current priority was to deal with Xu Linshan.

Truthfully, Qi Ning didn’t harbor any hatred for Xu Linshan. Of all the people involved, Pei Liang was the one who truly irritated him. It was Pei Liang who had initiated the whole affair.
Outside Room 888, Pei Liang waited anxiously. His eyes betrayed his unease as the door to the private room swung open. Seeing Qi Ning emerge unscathed, Pei Liang hesitated briefly before hurrying to the third floor.
”Resolve this once and for all, leaving no loose ends,” Qi Ning muttered as he headed for the stairs.
Though the KTV had an elevator, he opted for the stairs as a precaution.
Qi Ning ascended to the third floor nonchalantly. Despite his readiness, the crowded scene still took him aback.
“What have you done to Brother Scorpion?” Pei Liang’s exterior remained composed, but inside, he was frantic.
Qi Ning gave Pei Liang a cool look and remained silent.
Pei Liang, however, was so frightened he nearly fell to his knees before Qi Ning.
However, when he considered the nearly hundred people standing behind him, he summoned his courage once more.
“Why are you so full of yourself?” Pei Liang inflated his chest, trying to appear incredibly formidable.
Qi Ning regarded him with a calm gaze and remarked, “It seems to me that you’ve been the one boasting all along, hasn’t it?”
Pei Liang advanced, intent on delivering a slap to Qi Ning.
Qi Ning didn’t flinch; he sensed that Pei Liang was merely posturing.
Sure enough, Pei Liang’s hand halted a mere ten centimeters from Qi Ning’s cheek.
“Pei Liang, you really are a coward,” someone called out, stepping forward from the crowd.
The newcomer had an imposing presence, clad in black athletic gear.
“Kid,” the man said, approaching Qi Ning with a machete in hand and a mocking look on his face. “I’ve heard you’re quite the braggart!”
Qi Ning simply gave him a glance and remained silent.
“I’m speaking to you. Are you deaf?” the man snapped, infuriated by Qi Ning’s silence.
“I’m talking to you,” he repeated, lifting the machete to strike Qi Ning’s cheek with the flat of the blade.
But Qi Ning’s subsequent move left the man seething with anger.
