Chapter 140 Ella Meets Calista
Calista instantly recognized Ella. She was not only the lady who performed but also one of the two who left with Kyle.
Calista wasn't certain even though she watched this lady perform throughout.
The only thing that made her stand out was her red hair. That was the distinguishing feature of hers that made her recognize the lady, but there was also a chance that she wasn't the one.
The world was big and there was a chance that she wasn't the only red-haired here.
"Hi… Are you the one that performed here last night?" Calisat questioned.
Ella was surprised that she recognized her because she thought that no one was paying attention but it was a welcomed development.
She liked the attention, the little fame that came with that night.
Nate couldn't pick out who was more attractive between the two but Calista had an aura around her that made him feel inferior.
He couldn't put it into words but Nate could tell that this woman was in a class of her own or at least that was the energy he got from her.
"Yeah, that's me. You were here that night?" Ella questioned. The chances of running into someone who attended that night were high.
"A small world! I loved your song! Was it an original?" Calista questioned.
This left Ella speechless because Nate wasn't the only one that got that air of superiority around her so hearing her say she liked her song brought a smile to Ella's face.

She couldn't contain the grin that crept up on her face either.
Someone was showing interest in her craft and a beautiful lady at that. There was no doubt that someone this beautiful belonged in the industry.
"Yes, it is an original. Thank you very much," Ella tried her best to pretend like she was used to people complimenting her music in the first place even though that wasn't the case.
She had to act that way, not that Calista cared, Calista was only saying what she said so she could force Ella to drop her guard.
"It is a shame you left early, I would have killed for a few more songs," Calista said with Nate placing her drink in front of her.
It was a non-alcoholic drink and this showed that Calista wasn't some lady that drank during the day.
Ella noticed this and gave Nate a knowing look, nonverbally telling him she would have what she was having.
Calista might be someone important and it was Ella's chance to establish some sort of connection with her.
She would need all the help she could get if she was going to rise to the top.
This was an opportunity for her to do just that.
"Our time was up but I had a few more songs in me if that makes you feel better," Ella tried her best to establish some sort of familiarity between them.
"Hahaha! That does make me feel better. I know this is none of my business but I hope your friend got home safe?" Calista questioned.
Ella became cautious the moment these words left her lips.
"What do you mean by that?" Ella questioned.
"I'm not some crazy stalker, I promise you. I noticed you left with a man and we girls have to look out for each other," Calista took a sip of her drink.
Sexual predators were common in places like these so Ella could understand why she would be worried but it was unusual for a stranger to worry about another.
However, Ella noticed that she made an impression on this lady so it was a possibility that she was indeed watching out for her.
"Don't worry about him, he is my friend's boyfriend," Ella let it slip and the moment Calista heard this, she froze in place.
"B-Boyfriend?" She nearly choked on her drink because this couldn't be right.
Calista knew she had to compose herself because this woman didn't know who she was.
If she did, the chances of gathering more information would prove futile.
"Are you okay?" Ella questioned, watching Calista catching herself after briefly choking.
"I-It went down the wrong pipe… That's what I get for trying to chug it," Calista saved face.
"I'm glad she got home safely," Calista responded to which Ella nodded with a smile.

Jane was resting on Kyle's chest, Kyle was stroking her hair as they lay in silence.
They didn't want to say a word, all they wanted to do was enjoy each other's company.
There was nothing wrong with this because they had just experienced an intense moment.
Jane noticed that the pain wasn't as bad as she thought it would be or rather, the aftercare that Kyle provided made it tolerable.
She couldn't believe she had lost her virginity, the movies made it into a magical thing and she could see why.
It was heavenly, it felt like she was floating on cloud 9, an ecstasy that she couldn't put her fingers around.
The silence was finally broken.
"Thank you so much for everything, Kyle," Jane began.
"I didn't know if I believed in soulmates until I met you," Jane's voice began to crack.
"I know I'm awkward and not as beautiful or endowed as the rest and this is why I feel lucky every day that you chose me…" Jane was trying her best not to break down.
Kyle didn't say a word for a minute because he wanted to soak in everything she had said.
"You know… I think you're the most beautiful lady I have met and you're fine just the way you are. If I could change anything about you, the only thing I would change is meeting you a lot sooner, I didn't know I was starving until I laid my eyes on you, Jane," Kyle reassured her, stroking her hair in the process.
Jane couldn't contain her emotions, her heart was heavy and she suddenly started crying.
Kyle understood the intensity of this moment and simply stroked her hair.
He allowed her to feel her emotions because this would be a moment she would remember for the rest of her life.
Kyle understood that Jane was a lady that has suffered from low self-esteem for years and only recently regained her confidence to a certain degree.
It showed with the words she just said about herself, there was no doubt that Kyle was among the top 1% so her speech about her being lucky wasn't far-fetched but she needed to give herself more credit.
Because not everyone had it in them to pull one
