Haunted Duke’s Daughter

Chapter 127

SIs it over?

Sakura asked. Does that mean to say that there are still things we can do? As I was thinking about it while looking at the four of them who immediately started reading the answers, Ray, who was also looking at the four of them, said,

Youre not going home?

Oh, my. Is he trying to tell us to get out of his way?

I dont think so. As far as Im concerned, Id like you to stay.

Ray glanced at the four of them. From time to time, Amos and Tania would spy on Lilia. After all, they must be concerned about Lilias presence here. Still, the four of them seemed to be having a lot of fun as they read and made plans.

Lilia-san, would you like to join us?

There is nothing I can do.

She had never seen a wall newspaper, so she thought there was nothing she could do to help.

Youre going to help us?

Liana asked and the other three peeled their eyes away.

Theres nothing I can do for you, is there?

Yes, there is!

Lianas face lit up and she brought out a large piece of paper from the corner of the room. She unfolded the paper, which was as tall as a person, tapped it and said,

You can write, cant you, Aldis-senpai?

Do you think I am a fool?

I say, squinting, and Liana turns pale and shakes her head vigorously.

Im sorry, she said, bowing her head. Lilia gave a small sigh and her expression softened.

What is it?

Liana fearfully steals a glance at Lilias face and lets out a sigh of relief. She unfolded a piece of paper and said.

Im going to do the draft on a small piece of paper, would you like to do a clean copy with me?

Is that something I can do with you?

Of course.

Liana nodded with a big smile and Lilia nodded her head in agreement.

Thank you! Ill have that draft done by tomorrow!

No, wait a minute Liana, are you sure you can do it by tomorrow?

You can do it, right?

Liana looked back at Elks impatient voice with a smile. Elk blushed and nodded, Ill do my best. Amos and Tania let out a giggle.

I dont think my presence is going to be much of a help any longer, so Im going to head back.

Lilia said, and the five of them, including Ray, bowed their heads. She waved lightly and left the room.

SIts not like Lilia to help make a wall newspaper, is it?

Sakuras voice sounded somewhat amused and Lilia raised her eyebrows.

LYou said it.

SI was just asking, you know?

Lilias cheeks tightened involuntarily at Sakuras mischievous smile.

LIm sorry, I shouldnt have done that.

SI think its fine. Im sure youll get to know them better.

LI dont see the need for that, though.

I dont mean to look down on the commoners because of what happened with Tina, but I dont see the need to go out of my way to be friends with them. Sakura knows that, she chuckled, I guess so.

SBut theres no such thing as not getting along, is there?

LWell, yes.

SThen lets make more friends. Lets aim for a hundred friends!

What do you want to achieve? Lilia sighed in disgust and returned to her room.

The next day as soon as the morning classes were over, I headed to my usual room in the library. I thought that only Ray would still be there, but to my surprise, all five of them were there. Lilia sighed as the five of them spread out a large sheet of paper and discussed something.

You should at least go to class.

You say that Lilia?

Ray says so and greets me. Thats how they noticed Lilia, and soon Liana and the others greeted her as well. Lilia also returns the greeting and says to Ray.

Im not worried about my grades.

Me neither.

Ray says with pride but looking at the remaining four, everyone quietly looks away.

You guys

Ill do my best when this is over!

I dont think you have your priorities straight.

Lilia shook her head and put down her luggage.

Ill teach you a few things.

Liana and the others rolled their eyes in surprise. When I glared at the four of them, all four of them hurriedly shook their heads and said, Its nothing.

Are you sure you dont mind?

I said its fine.

Lilia nodded her head, though she looked annoyed. The four of them, but especially Liana, beamed.

Thank you very much!

Saying so, they all bowed their heads. Slightly embarrassed, I turned my face away from them and urged them to just continue.

The six of us gathered around the table and proceeded to write, consulting the draft paper. Lilia also looked over the articles in the draft, occasionally adding her own touches. There were two articles, one on the top and one on the bottom, and half of them were about this academy. The other half was about the neighboring country, Claviles.

The article seems okay.

The prince had probably read through the answers, but even so, there might have been something that should not have been so well known. With that in mind, I read it again and there didnt seem to be anything wrong with it.

We made it!

Liana exclaimed as the sun was about to set. While everyone else was looking tired and listless, Liana and Ray were looking very energetic.

Wow! So this is the wall newspaper! Ive never seen anything like it in Claviles, so its very new to me.

Hmmm! You did a great job! Im sure your father will approve of this!

The other three looked on warmly as they took the initiative in sharing their joy. Only Elk, however, had a somewhat complicated expression on his face
