Chapter 576 Situation around the globe-1
Chapter 576 Situation around the globe-1
Alastair woke up looking through the window of his high rise apartment. He just woke up and wanted to see the sun rise as it was the only reason he bought this place.
" Mmmh, where are you baby?" Someone called him from the back. It was the random girl he met last night. Despite pushing forty, he had great luck with the ladies.
After all he was called a 'Devil' and everyone knew it's most powerful ability was seduction. He had no intention of slowing down and was just enjoying life but in recent years seeing most of his friends settle down, he was thinking about a different kind of life- a more stable life.
" I am here." He faced her. His underwear was already making a tent, signaling he hadn't lost his youth over the years. He was in great shape and it showed as the girl blushed seeing him casually exposing himself.
" I have never been with an older man before, I really enjoyed myself last night." She said seductively looking at his crotch. Alastair smiled and knew what she wanted.
" The fun is not over yet. It's weekend, let me take you around the city first then we can have a nice meal and after that-" He smirked, looking at her naked body that was only covered with a thin blanket. He had to admit, he hadn't lost his touch.
He didn't know much about her other than the fact that she was a yoga instructor, it showed because her body was toned to perfection coupled with a pretty face and long black hair she was a true beauty.
" I can't, I have to go to work. You know I have a lot of clients on weekends." She stood up, grabbing the bed sheets and wrapped then around her body.
" Fine, I will drop you off then."
" What's the hurry? We have few hours, join me the bath- hahaha." She didn't need to tell him twice. He was already carrying her in his arms heading toward the shower.
That's when he heard his phone ringing and decided to put her down first before seeing who called him so early in the morning.
" You go ahead." Seeing it was Abigail calling, he thought it must be important.

" Don't take too long, we don't have much time." She bit her lower lips before giving him the look and giggled her way toward the shower room. He shook his head seeing her playfulness and picked up the phone.
" What's up?"
" Good morning."
" Morning, I thought we were taking a break from work today."
" It's urgent. Few of the shareholders are backing up suddenly, it's highly likely that people on the top are pressuring them."
" You mean that Ajor's case? They can't do anything. If they break the contract they had to pay ten times the money. Isn't the meeting scheduled after the new years? How did you even come by this information?"
" Of course, I put few of our people to survey them. You know, boss has been pretty laxed so I went ahead and did it as a precaution."
" Are you serious? Isn't that too over the top for a normal contract?"
" Normal? We can make hundreds of millions! Don't forget our target is seven percent of the whole company."
" I know and we will get there don't worry. I have everything-"
" Baby! Are you coming? I am already done washing!" Suddenly Abigail heard the girl's voice through the phone.
" I can't believe this! Are you still doing that shit!? I asked countless times for your permission to set up blind dates! When are you going to learn that you are an old man now?"
" I don't want to listen to it from a old hag!"
" What did you say to me!?"
Both knew each other for a decade at this point and one included their time together in business school, it would be even longer. She was his senior and knew about his debaucherous lifestyle quite well.
" I am hanging up! The initial report will be on your desk first thing in the morning!" He did as he told and left Abigail hanging with more vulgar words in her mouth.
She frustratingly put down the phone and scrunched her nose, feeling the early morning migraine. Suddenly she felt someone beside her and two pair of hands laid on her shoulders, massaging them with a gentle touch.
" You shouldn't yell so early in the morning. Who was the poor fellow this time?" Leonard, her husband asked softly. He would have go to his bakery early in the morning to bake fresh products and had just came to back to hear his wife shouting from her study room.
" Who else? That's bastard! Always fooling around neglecting work!"
" You mean Alastair? What did he do this time?"
" Did he have to do something for me to be mad at him? Don't you already know enough about him?" Leonard didn't know what to say, she didn't make any sense!
" Alright, alright. Calm down." he did the only thing he knew, started massaging her forehead which instantly settled her down.
" Why are you up so early? It's sunday."
" I saw you leaving and had some paperworks to go through so I thought, better do it now instead of holding it off for evening."
" I am sorry, I didn't know I woke you up."
" It's fine. I am used to it." She got up from the chair and closed her laptop. She stretched her back feeling a little under the weather. It was getting colder outside and with her sitting on chair for so long without proper clothes, meant her feet were stone cold.
" You know, you could retire if you want or move on to much simpler job. I mean, I get you want to help Sami because of what he did for us but I am sure he wouldn't mind if you relax a little bit." He said worried about her health.
They were not in their early thirties anymore and the amount of work they could do in the past had drastically decreased. She was also under a lot of stress, single handedly managing Samuel's funds through the firm.
" I think I have few more years left in me. I am training, Marilyn to replace me but don't tell her yet. She is too young and it might get to her head."
" My lips are sealed. I would never discuss your business with anyone." He didn't know much to begin with but he did visit the firm a lot over the years and had heard few things that were hard to believe at first but whenever he saw her wife's paycheck, it would tell him that she indeed a part of something big.
He knew how hard she worked for under Samuel and how much he trusted her. When he first found out that she was part shareholder in his company, he didn't think much of it. Samuel Rothschild was a impressive young man, but he was too young to start any proper business.
But when his wife told him how much the company was worth, he almost fainted. He never knew that he would see so much wealth in his generation, being an orphan and working his way from an apprentice to owning his own bakery store, he knew how cruel the world was.
It was a blessing that a girl like his wife even took an interest in him but he always felt he was holding her down. After the birth of his daughter and her getting sick, he felt his world collapsing not being able to even afford the expensive surgery.
If it wasn't for her catching Samuel's eye, they would have lost her for good because at that time, they were broke.
" Hey what happened? Why are you looking at me like that?"
" What? I can't even look at my beautiful wife?" he replied and held her in his arms.
" Oh? Look, who is in the mood today?" He grabbed his neck staring directly in his eyes.
" I am always in the mood!"
" Alright, we should-"
" But we can't. We have to go to the airport soon."
" What?" She was puzzled.
" Did you honestly forget? Our daughter is coming home today?"
" Oh my god!" She exclaimed.
" That's what happen when you bury yourself in paperwork first thing in the morning. You should get ready while I fix us something to eat."
" I can't believe it! I should call her right now! It's her first time taking the flight alone!" She started freaking out.
" Relax honey, she is a smart girl beside, you book a private jet for her! I can't believe you are spending that much money."
" It's only money! Her safety is more important! Now, get me my phone!"
" She will be airborne already, it's not right to call her."
" I don't care! I will call the pilot if I have to! I already have his number." She rushed to their bedroom to grab the phone. Suddenly their lazy morning became a little more chaotic.
