Chapter 3 - Ellena: The Cursed Child
What is the origin of the belief that black-haired children are cursed?!! Was it because they were uncommon? Was it an entity that looked eerily similar to them? Or do they have abilities that their logic can't comprehend? Even with all of this reasoning, who are they to judge a newborn child as cursed?
She is still a child, and most importantly, she is innocent; why would you judge them based on their appearance?
My host's father looked at her with disgust. He handed over the child to the midwife and walked out of the room in annoyance. He violently opened the door and exited.
Her mother, on the other hand, was dismayed by her child's appearance. She also has the look of being disgusted and not even paying heed to their crying daughter.
Why are these people alive? Oh, that administrator. Why would he keep a moron alive? This world is garbage. By looking at their mood, I can tell that they live in a greedy society.
They are living in a noble society based on their appearance, clothing, furniture, and actions. And for basic information, the world's nations are still monarchies in the majority.
But, I pity this girl. I should not judge this world that easily. I know, it's hypocritical, but it's the urge to have emotions. My brain was not composed at that moment.
I will observe this world and judge it fairly. Because I will be the system of the chosen child of heaven, not the cursed one.

Ellena, my host, is growing pretty fast. It has already been 3 years since I was reincarnated and, as far as I have observed, being a system is hard. I can't tell the time because everything in my vision appears to be like a movie.
Was this a mechanism to help me not be bored? I know I have to wait another 7 years for her rune to activate me, but I still hope I can help her.
Ellena is just so adorable that I've been cursing those useless parents restlessly. How do they even manage to survive without being hit by lightning? Ugh. I just can't take it. I hope that her father becomes impotent and stops making offspring.
She is so cute, but her progress seems... pitiful. This year, she has only recently learned to walk. Well, IT'S BECAUSE OF HER PARENTS' FAULT!!!
How can they not take care of their children?! But, let's not be too arrogant there. I know I have different types of knowledge, but being too arrogant does not show any intelligence. It's stupid to foolishly judge a person by what you can see.
However... this situation is not good... I may take back this statement in the future. I just hope that these people won't fail me.

The mistress was pregnant, and word got around the house. By the age of 4, Ellena will become an elder sister. However, she is still neglected, which makes being an elder sister impossible.
What I say neglected is that Ellena is literally trying everything on her own. Eating, bathing, and even studying. Everything is slow for Ellena as there is no guidance. She was only left with a maid, who also ignored her and stole her food.
GOD, I JUST WANT TO KILL THIS MAID. How can she sleep without any conscience? It might be reasonable but illogical for her parents to neglect her because they have jobs... Yes... Let's assume that they have jobs! But this maid, who has only one job, takes care of Ellena. CAN'T I JUST CHOKE HER FOR A SECOND?! IT WOULD BE NICE IF I COULD CHOKE HER FOR AN HOUR.
These people are getting on my imaginary nerves. Yes... apparently, I can't have nerves.
Can the heavens send some lightning and hit this maid? She literally irritates me.
***
It was news in the house that the mistress had successfully given birth to a healthy baby girl. It's still her luck that she's still alive right now. She'll get her day too. I swear!
And something more that made me irritated is their good news... "She's not a cursed child. Thank goodness." She had orange hair, which made everyone feel relieved.
Seriously, I need to figure out why black hair is thought to be cursed children. I can't properly think of one right now.
***
Ellena's family is out right now, visiting a relative. I was surprised that they included her on their journey. Maybe their relative is sane, and they are afraid of being asked, "Where is your eldest daughter?" I can't properly b... imaginary breath right now... for laughing?
Oh no. I'm not going crazy.
As far as I could tell, this family had a lot of bad luck. They are surrounded by a group of bandits, and surprisingly, they manage to pass through the guards. This event may turn into slave trading. I hope the mom gets caught.
But it seems like heaven can also punish me. Ellena was almost put in danger. A bandit passed through, then grabbed her little sister. But Ellena was so brave that she even tried to defend her sister.
However, things didn't work well. I mean, she successfully saved her sister. But her thickheaded mother blamed her. Worse, her father dragged her into the fray. So... her parents want to be the villains in her life, huh?
But she even saved her little sister. DON'T GET ME SNAPPED. I WILL CURSE THEM UNTIL MY LAST IMAGINARY BREATH.
Whoo... calm down... you are not supposed to be bothered by those insects.

At the age of 10, she learned how to read. Yes... Because she only taught herself, she learned by only observing the text and comparing it to the words.
It is a commendable achievement. Really, you should be called a genius rather than a cursed one.
But my cute little Ellena wants to help her father. So she immersed herself in reading books. But it seems that she also has incompetence when it comes to learning. Unfortunately, she didn't learn that fast. She still really needs guidance, but her wicked family doesn't help her.
If I could only move, I would take your organs and sell them on the black market for 0.01 dollars. THAT'S HOW WORTHLESS YOU ARE, YOU USELESS PARENTS.
But there's something odd about this place. It's getting dimmer and... there's... smoke?!
Fuck, Ellena. Get out of this place immediately! You can't die... Oh. It's futile. I forgot that I know when you're going to die, and I have a feeling it's not right now. So... Ellena... Just get out so you won't hurt yourself, okay?
"You useless trash! What have you done?! You even burned our books!"
But... it was not her. Tell them, Ellena, it was not you! Someone was inside and burned everything. I was not you!
But Ellena kept silent. It may be seen as if she was admitting...
"You are locked in the basement for a month. Repent, you useless trash."
No! NOOOOO!!! DON'T MAKE HER SUFFER ANYMORE. She was just trying to be useful! DON'T BE STUPID. It was obviously your maid's fault for not being cautious about things. She wanted it to associate Ellena with the fault, so she would not be fired.
That... useless maid... She can't even do their jobs properly... Everyone can't even do their jobs...
Why can't you listen to Ellena for once? She's also your child! Can't you even ask her if she's alright? Why was she in there? Why can't you care about Ellena?
Just why are you making her suffer? Why us?
