Chapter 285: Good at Keeping Secrets

Chapter 285: Good at Keeping Secrets

Taking a step back, Elliot looked at Madam Locraine in the eyes. His quest to find the chair was starting to get buried by their conversation.

"What do you mean, Madam Locraine?" Elliot asked. He was worried that the woman might know about the Manual. But it said that it would kill the person who knew. The small sliver of hope that Madam Locraine didn't knew was all Elliot could hope for.

"Elliot, you're a very strong person," the plump woman said. "I know you can do this, along with your friends. But there is one thing that you need to do. Consider this as a quest for me. In exchange, you can ask me for anything."

"But what is this quest?" Elliot asked. His worries of Madam Locraine knowing anything started to dissipate. She didn't know about the Manual. Like the people around her, she just saw the immense amount of power coming from Elliot so she wants him to do something for her.

"I just found out that there is another Twilight Wing," Madam Locraine whispered. "Come closer."

Elliot did as was told and leaned in closer to the woman. She nodded behind her and a guard closed the door so he could leave her to talk with the boy. "I went to Polschk today to discuss this last Twilight Wing. The other parties interested with the Bless cannot have the final Wing, Elliot."

Elliot gulped, fully knowing that he has the one the woman needed. He will not tell anyone about it too. This was an advantage that could turn the tides of everything. Elliot needed to become selfish and absorb the Twilight Wing on his own.

He was hesitant with his plan before considering he didn't know if his body could handle two Blesses, but with Madam Locraine's help, he was now confident that his body could withstand the power of both the Blesses.

"I will find it then," Elliot lied. He made sure to put a short pause in between the woman's request and his answer. This was now a game of deception. Frederick started this game and Elliot was in the game now as well.

With his second Twilight Bless, he could fight even the man at the Gray Lake and most importantly, Malice. These two were his primary concern. The man was hunting him and the woman wants everyone in his Realm dead.

If he gets two Twilight Wings and take their Bless, the power would be enough for him to get even stronger. This was something that Elliot was excited about. He wanted to become the strongest, but with his current power, he wasn't even a par against the Guardians.

He needed more, he was hungry for more.

"Power," Elliot thought in his head. "I need more power."

"What do you wish for me to do?" Madam Locraine asked. "Ask anything, and I'll do everything in my power to do it."

"There are chairs of the Angels from the Heaven Realm," Elliot said without stuttering. "I know you have one and I want it."

Madam Locraine covered her mouth with her fan after what she heard. She looked around and scrunched her face, "How did you know about such artifact?"

"So, it's an artifact too?" Elliot smirked. "Now I really want it. In exchange, I will also do my best and everything in my power to find the final Twilight Wing."

Madam Locraine fell silent. She didn't know what to respond. Her offer was solid, but she didn't expect Elliot to go through such heights and request something that was stuck in her vault.

The Heaven's Chair was an artifact that she came across in one of her quest as an Adventurer. It was located inside an ancient ruins, displayed in a middle of a garden that was abandoned for eons.

She was alone when she took the chair. Madam Locraine switched places with one of her antique items and went home in an instant. What she got inside the ruins was one of her most prized possessions, it was one of her first antiques.

"Elliot, something like that needs a thinking over"

"I thought you said you'll do anything?" Elliot took a step back and raised both her brows. He was egging her into giving up the chair. He knew that it was an important item after hearing that it was an artifact.

If he could get his hands on it, unless the Manual wants it for itself, Elliot will absorb it. That artifact should contain something that would make him even stronger. He was starting to get desperate into getting this.

"I did, but then this is an artifact, Elliot," Madam Locraine said. "This is not something that I could easily give like a candy to a child."

"I know, but it's what I want," Elliot said. "We will encounter Fallen Angels, Madam Locraine. I just thought if I could absorb this artifact, I will gain something that would help us against them."

The last bit made the plump woman look at Elliot in the eyes. His lie was getting to her and she was falling deep for it. Madam Locraine didn't want her realm to be destroyed that's why she joined the fray. But with Elliot's suggestion, she was now contemplating on whether she would accept the boy's offer.

"Madam Locraine" Elliot trailed off. "If I could get what's in this artifact, the tables could turn, and we would have the upper hand. It won't matter if it's the Fallen Angels, or Oracion Alma, we can fend them off."

Madam Locraine was now falling deeper for his lie. Elliot looked very convincing considering he was partly telling the truth. If there will be a fight that would happen, his powers alone could not defeat both the enemies. He needed more power, more strength for him to get through.

"I'm in the front lines, Madam Locraine," Elliot continued. "And as you said, I have a great potential. I need more power, Madam."

With a sigh, the woman couldn't help but nod. "Okay. But use it wisely. And you have to tell me everything that it does. At least I could keep a record with what my item does."

"Thank you," Elliot smiled. He walked over to the woman and hugged her. In an instant, four Rogues appeared and threateningly pointed their blades at Elliot. Madam Locraine raised her fan, making the Rogues vanish again.

"I'll take you to my vault," Madam Locraine said. "But you have to keep this a secret."

Elliot nodded, making the woman sigh and nod too. Elliot loosened the hug and smiled, "I'm good at keeping secrets."
