Chapter 320: You'll Pay

Chapter 320: You'll Pay

Aquarius could only widen his eyes after hearing Rade's confession. He raised his trident, pointing it at the old man. "What do you mean by that?"

"So, you must know them," Rade smirked. "One of my dolls has the capabilities to view memories of other people. I happened to see what the Man's past was, and then I saw Terra. A beautiful place indeed, dimmer than Heaven but brighter than Hell."

"He was here? Your leader was here?" Aquarius asked. "How come he was here when he was an Angel?"

Rade laughed lightly, "You are indees young."

"Talk more," Aquarius ordered. "What guild was the man in?"

Rade shook his head, placing a finger on his lips and mouthed the name of the guild. He closed his eyes slowly, grinning after seeing the shocked face of the blue haired man.

"Impossible," Aquarius whispered.

Outside of the halls of the stadium, Sybyl's bubble popped and she was sent outside. She landed on the ground on both her feet, raising her hand and pointing them both at Rain who was lying flat on the ground.

"I guess he's unconscious," Sybyl said to herself. She looked around and avoided all the chaos by looking for an open door so she can go to the stadium's hallway. She was about to enter one when a spear was shot right beside her head.

"Where are you going?" a female voice spoke behind her. Sybyl turned around, arms raised in the air. "I'm just here to find my friend."

The spear came from an Adventurer. She had two more people behind her, all holding a terrifying aura agaisnt Sybyl.

"You're only here to find your friend?" the other woman said with sarcasm. "You're one of the attackers! We'll kill you."

The three women were about to rush to Sybyl and hunt her when a pair of black wings landed in front of them. A figure emerged from the wings, hair long and straight as if they were combed by the gods themselves.

"M-Midnight," one of the girls shrieked. "Why are you getting on the way?"

"I'm sorry, but I have to bring this woman by the orders of my friend," Midnight spoke. He walked closer to Sybyl and offered his hand. "Aquarius sent me."

"So pretty," was all Sybyl could say, her eyes glimmering in astonishment and amazement.

The girls from before heard her comment and they all instantly raised both their hands in the air and shook their heads for her to stop. When Sybyl heard this, thinking the three were plotting something against her, rolled her eyes.

"That's a weird thing to say to a guy, don't you think?" Midnight asked.

Sybyl froze for a moment. She looked at Midnight from his soft and picture-perfect face, to his body with a dark blue dress adorning it. "A-A man?"

The three girls could only cry and continued to wave her hands to stop her. Sybyl had slowly gotten grip of what they wanted to say. Her lips trembled as she feared that she wasn't going to speak the right words next.

"Y-You know," Sybyl took a deep breath as if her life depended on it. "Men can also receive that compliment. This world is slowly progressing to the true meaning of gender equality!"

"But you're not from this world," Midnight deadpanned. He stared at the startled Sybyl, as if waiting for the woman to say something. "But anyway, we need to be somewhere. There's someone who wants to meet you. You three, free more Adventurers. This battle is not yet in full swing, but we're going to be in a large disadvantage when we don't have all the Adventurers."

"Y-Yes sir!" the three women replied and dispersed to follow the order given to them.

"Wait," Sybyl retracted her hand and looked at Midnight in the eyes, "Who is this someone?"

Midnight chuckled and grinned, "Our guild master."

At the heart of the stadium where the large broken stone platform lies, a floating island over it. On the island was a man, chanting as much words as he could while waving his hands in the air.

Underneath the crack of the stone platform was a pit that went from the floating stadium, down to the earth itself. At the middle of the pit, seven keys formed a circle. The keys were slowly ascending closer to the floating stadium while a beam of purplish black light signaled their arrival.

Polschk was casting the spell so the keys would come closer to him. The keys were the only items that could unlock the Twilight Bless, which are sealed on the butterflies that are called the Twilight Wings.

The wings were in an altar right on the other side of the broken platform. They were contained inside a spherical forcefield with a single branch of flowering tree stood in the middle.

"Black and White Annihilation!" Lance yelled and slashed his swords, firing as much power as he could.

His attack was answered by a single sweep of a thick vine from Polschk. The vine was embedded with both Black and White affinities in them, making it able to negate the attack easily.

"You killed him!" Lance yelled. "Elliot has all the plans for all the people he met. He planned to build a guild. I didn't even get to support his idea."

"That's not my fault," Polschk stopped from his chant. The keys that were in the air was suspended from their ascension, only levitating in the air without any more movements. "My only fault here is that I killed her instead of that woman, the Arch Mage."

"But how come your ritual was activated?" Lance asked. "You needed the Arch Mage, but you got Elliot. That's unfair."

"That bit is also not familiar with me," Polschk shrugged. "All I know is that the chamber where the keys lie opened and that I am getting them."

"You won't!" A voice yelled from afar. A burst of a spinning wheel of flames almost hit Polschk, the old man barely avoiding the attack with a vine infused with water magic.

"We just knew what happened to him," Connor chuckled, but the thick coat of sadness was evident in his voice.

"You'll pay," Hope whispered, his sharp fangs gritting each other like metal. "You'll pay!"
