Chapter 406: Operation Raid the East

Chapter 406: Operation Raid the East

The hall was filled with silence. The sudden outburst of the Holy Crow made everyone shiver to their bones. He was seldom upset, but this time, he was angry.

Although this man looked old and frail, he is powerful not just with his influence, but his magic. He wasn't a leader of a large religious organization and named one of the Trinity of Power for nothing.

The Holy Crow, birth name Alexander Crow was born in poverty. He was raised in the streets by other homeless people while he was attending the church of the Son of Heaven.

It was one fateful day that he unleashed his power on a man who tried to molest a girl. The previous leader of Son of Heaven, the Heavenly Robin, saw the potential in him that he appointed him as one of the acolytes.

Alexander trained all day and night inside he church. He prayed five times a day in the middle of his training, always thinking about the wellness of the people and the light bestowed onto him.

He had the affinity of Pure Light. A magic that was lost in time, the last recorded user dated back to a thousand years ago. His magic allows him to purify the darkness and cleanse demonic beasts and evil spirits. This gave him an advantage in terms of gaining the favor of the higher ups.

He became a figure of light, making the members of their church double upon his appearance. It didn't take long for him to rise even more in the ranks until at the age of twenty two, he became the leader of the church. He was the youngest leader, and perhaps the most powerful among them all.

And now, his eyes were bulging from their sockets while glaring at Yvonne.

"I use my power as the Holy Crow to renounce you of your rank," he said. "You shall now become Top 21. This order is effective immediately!"

Yvonne gasped after hearing the old man. She shook her head and tried to reason out, but the Holy Crow had already ordered guards to escort her out of the room.

"You can't do this," Yvonne growled. "I am a daughter of a Lord. When my father hears about this, he will have your head old man. Remember your place! You're nothing but a"

Before she could finish, a chain made of multicolored light was wrapped around her head. Galaxia returned to his seat and looked around, seeing everyone look at him, "What? She was too loud."

"Nice," Frederick chuckled. They watched Yvonne get dragged out of the room, the woman struggling to scream inside the chain on her head.

"Please enter," the Holy Crow sat in his seat like nothing happened. He calmed down instantly, and his face looked relaxed.

The doors opened once more and a man walked inside. Everyone stared at him, surprised when seeing the familiar face.

"Daniel?" Luck narrowed his eyes. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Daniel was the vampire boy that was threatened by the Man's subordinate in the Championship of the Greats. He was kidnapped, his blood was taken, yet he still fought back. He was a shy little boy and in just a matter of two weeks, he rose to the ranks and reached Top 21.

"This is Daniel," the Holy Crow introduced. "He will be the last member of our team that will attack and liberate the East."

Frederick clapped his hands and shook his head, his expression impressed and amused, "What a great plan you had, old men."

"Excuse me?" Galaxia curved his brow up. "What are you saying?"

"These old men fully know that the League would be against the mission," Frederick said. "They made Daniel prepare outside so they purposely kicked out Yvonne. Amazing."

"We do not need Adventures who think they have the highest authority just because they were born of wealth," King Leopold said. "Now, let us go back to our topic and plan this battle. This is Operation Raid the East, and this war starts now."

The capital of Shyako was silent. Four cloaked figures walked around the streets and seemed to be looking around. Every single one of their footsteps would make a sound, a crunch of the leaves and breaking of twigs.

"They're not here anymore," one of them said. The others unveiled their faces, showing the four escorts of the diplomats from Avancia.

Guan Yu kneeled on the ground, touching the ground and feeling it. "It's been a while since they left."

"But how could that be?" one of her allies said. "Huoyi, are you sure?"

"I am sure, Ling," Guan Yu said to the man with the sword symbol. "My senses are never wrong, and here it said that they left for a couple of hours now."

"That's a bother," Ling sighed. "Wuxian, check the skies. Maybe they're there."

"Roger," the man with the arrow symbol said. He brandished his sword and slammed it to the ground, riding it and roamed the skies.

"Isn't it pathetic that your name has the meaning of an archer but you have the shield instead?" Ling chuckled. "You're so petty."

Guan Yu didn't respond to the insult. Instead, she and Ling looked above when they felt an aura approach them.

"Look out!" Ling yelled, seeing Wuxian getting hit by a large ball of fire.

"Now!" a deep stern voice yelled, making Elliot and the others came out of their hiding and attacked.

"An ambush?!" Ling yelled. He brandished his sword and raises it. "Die, you filthy foreigners!"

Before he could slash his sword, a blade pierced his stomach. This made him puke blood, slowly turning around to see Guan Yu piercing her blade through him.

"Yu, what is the meaning of this?" Ling coughed. "If Du Du knows about this, you'll be"

Guan Yu pulled her sword out and thrust it back, not letting Ling talk even more. Her actions made Lance and Kaminari stopped running. Elliot continued to run towards her since he already know where she was siding.

"What is the meaning of this?" Kaminari asked. "He was your ally."

"I was never their ally," Guan Yu said, splashing the blood off of her sword and returning it to its scabbard. "I'm Guan Yu, fake name Huoyi. I was infiltrating them as of the Jade Emperor's general, but my loyalty serves my nation."

"How can we know that we should trust you?" Lance asked, narrowing his eyes. "For all we know, you could just be blushing."

"I just killed one of Du Du's generals," Guan Yu said. "It's like chopping off one toe from his feet. Wait, where's Qishan?"

Elliot tilted his head to the side in confusion, "Qishan?"

"Huoyi!" the man with the spear symbol yelled from one of the roofs of the houses. "You'll pay for this you filthy traitor!"

"No!" Guan Yu yelled, leaping off of the ground and taking his sword out. He jumped from wall to wall until he reached the roofs, slashing through Qishan with a swift swing of her sword.

The man's body fell to the ground with Guan Yu landing right beside it. Just when she was about to calm down, Qishan moved and fired a beacon, lightning up the skies that alerted all the kingdoms.
