Chapter 68: A Round Trip to the Real World
Charles nodded thoughtfully, reflecting on his past life where he had fared so poorly that he never had the chance to interact with the Elven race. Consequently, he was not well-versed in their customs and traditions.
However, the idea of using the Tree of Life to construct houses... Truly, they were an extravagantly opulent race.
After a brief stroll around, they arrived in front of the bedroom.
"There weren't many rooms in this entire house meant for people to stay in before. So, my consort, you can either squeeze in with Her Majesty or with me. Our rooms have ample space to accommodate you." Amy said with a serious expression.
Charles was slightly taken aback. Such a grand Elven palace and it really only had two livable rooms? Seriously, this is just... speechless!
He glanced at Eve and noticed that she, too, wore an embarrassed expression. It was clear to him then that Amy was right: there were indeed only two rooms in the entire Elven Palace.
"Why?" Charles asked, somewhat puzzled.
After all, whether in the real world or on the continent of Overlord, Eve was an indisputable noble lady. It was inconceivable that she wouldn't have arranged for a maid to attend to her needs.
Perhaps sensing Charles's confusion, Eve awkwardly explained, "In the early days, you know how it was. We had nothing, so I didn't make a fuss about it."
"Later, when the Elven race began to flourish, although we had the means to recruit maids, Amy was always worried about my safety because of the internal traitor issue."
"So now, Amy is my only maid, and it's the arrangement that makes her feel the most at ease."
Speaking of this, Eve was still somewhat perplexed. Amy was an Elven race member she had summoned using the Heart of the Overlord. Technically, Amy was a subject and a minion.
In other words, there shouldn't have been a strong emotional bond between them.
Yet, on her very first day, Amy had defeated each opponent with her strength and stood by Eve's side ever since, never leaving.
Otherwise, Eve wouldn't have risked incurring the wrath of her elders by giving Amy a name. Eve genuinely considered Amy to be her close sister.
Amy nodded slightly, her stern face taking on a hint of lethal resolve. "My consort, the Elven race is not as loyal as the Zerg. Even those who descend through the Heart of the Overlord have their own schemes."
"If Her Majesty were to invite a large group of maids, their minds would be far too treacherous. As her subordinate and sister, it's my duty to clear some of these obstacles for her."

To put it bluntly, the Elves were too cunning. Due to their racial traits, they carried an inherent arrogance.
As refugees, they shamelessly made demands of their queen, and some even harbored ambitions of usurping her.
Charles frowned, his tone somewhat bewildered. "Is your situation really that dire? A mere group of third-tier low-level beings think they can make my woman abdicate?"
He recalled that Eve was quite capable. She could mobilize all the combat units of the entire territory to the battlefield, and her own combat prowess could dominate the entire Elven race.
Hearing this, Eve showed a faint smile. Charles was worried about her.

She then softly said, "Don't worry, it's not that bad. That was months ago. Now, nearly ninety percent of the combat power in the Forest of Elves is under our control."
"As for why Amy insists on personally attending to me, it's because a faction of Elves came here once. While I was bathing, they had a maid slip some aphrodisiac into the water."
"Later, Amy and I discovered it. That very night, every member of that faction, young and old, was publicly executed by dismemberment. Because of this incident, Amy has never been at ease."
So that's how it was, Charles understood.
It all boiled down to the Elven race being a bunch of treacherous backstabbers, didn't it?
"Well, it's really thanks to Amy taking care of you, you careless and foolish queen." Charles said with a hint of amusement as he gently pinched Eve's little nose.
Eve just huffed twice. He had clearly heard that it was both her and Amy who discovered the plot, but he just wanted to tease her.
What a bad man!
"So, my consort, would you prefer to stay in Her Majesty's room, or would you like to stay with me so I can attend to you?" Amy tilted her head, her face looking adorably innocent as she asked.
Charles didn't say anything, but Eve, puffing her cheeks in annoyance, glared at Amy. "Amy, aren't you being a bit too formal? Can't the three of us just squeeze in together?"
"After all, you're my dowry maid and dear sister. We'll just lie on the same bed, do nothing, and chat under the covers!" Catherine said with a playful tone.
Charles silently touched his nose, initially thinking of ordering a batch of worms to build a room outside. But now he reconsidered.
After all, while the girls claimed they'd merely chat under the covers, who could say that some delightful stories wouldn't unfold tonight?
They were in the most legitimate relationship. Even if something did happen, it would be perfectly normal.
The thought of their legitimate status made Charles's heart flutter with excitement.
To be honest, it gave Charles a unique experience.
Hearing this, Amy scratched her head, seemingly a bit puzzled.
However, she didn't refuse. Instead, she straightforwardly began moving her bedding over.
Eve quickly stopped her, half-laughing, half-crying. "You silly girl, the silk duvet you bought for me is more than enough for the three of us. We can all rest our heads on Charles's arm, saving the need for extra pillows."
Amy silently glanced at Eve and, in an inexplicably solemn tone, said, "Your Majesty, I'm just getting my nightclothes. Surely, you don't want me sleeping naked with a man on the very first night, do you?"
"I can't speak for his self-control, but I know that if it comes to that, given my Dark Elf bloodline, the first Elven deflowering blood might very well be mine."
After all, she was a mid-tier third-level warrior. If her darker instincts took over, overpowering a man wouldn't be difficult.
Although... the entire Forest of Elves wouldn't refuse Amy's dominance, my consort was still somewhat special.
As expected, Eve immediately fell silent.
Even though she wasn't sure how many girls this rascal had already ruined, she still fantasized that this time would be his first.
Because only with this belief could she feel satisfied, allowing herself to indulge freely when she finally gave herself to him.
"Alright, alright. Just remember to get him something too. The Elven race festival starts tomorrow, so tonight, let's sleep together and bond a bit." Eve said nonchalantly, pulling Charles into her room as she spoke.
Seeing this, Amy merely shook her head slightly and went off to gather her things.
She wasn't joking earlier, as a Dark Elf, depravity was her main theme.
Only when Amy was by Eve's side could she suppress that sudden surge of malevolence, provided that the primordial sins didn't become too evident.
If she truly ended up naked in front of Charles, there was a chance he might touch her private parts, and the sin of lust would instantly devour her soul.
If things spiraled out of control... Her Majesty would dislike her.
Amy didn't want to fall back into the Dark Elf's curse of depravity. Even if it meant dying, she wouldn't hesitate!
...
Night fell. A man and two women lay silently on the bed, gazing up at the open sky and the stars above, feeling an unprecedented sense of tranquility.
Charles lay in the middle, his expression wooden, serving as a human pillow for the two women, each resting her head on one of his arms.
There was a certain feeling of 'these aren't my arms, so feel free to frolic on them' about it.
While he could somewhat understand Eve's actions, even Amy was nuzzling into his chest like a little kitten seeking warmth.
Wait, are we even that close?
" Charles, I have some good news for you. It's about going home." Eve murmured, hugging her man tightly around the waist.
Charles was slightly surprised at this, as he had intended to tell her the same thing, but it seemed she had beaten him to it?
With an astonished tone, he asked, "Eve, are you saying we can return to our original world?"
Eve nodded vigorously, then, as if showing off, she pulled Amy over to lie between her and Charles. The tender flesh beneath Amy's black lace nightgown was vaguely visible.
Eve nudged the still-silent Amy and said cheerfully, "Amy, Charles isn't an outsider. Why don't you tell us again about the connection between The Continent of Overlord and the new world where the Overlord descended?"
Hearing her queen's seemingly coquettish tone, Amy, who couldn't handle such behavior, sighed and began to speak slowly, "My Lord, the truth is, you do have a chance to return to your previous world even after being summoned by The Continent of Overlord. It's not a one-way trip."
"In fact, it's not just you who were targeted by The Continent of Overlord. Your world, called Blue Planet, has been pulled into it as a source of world essence."
"As time goes on, the two worlds will gradually merge until they are indistinguishable from each other. This process will take about a year."
"In other words, a year from now, The Continent of Overlord and Blue Planet will be fully connected, and you will be able to use the Heart of the Overlord to return to your homeland."
Listening to Amy's explanation, a look of shock flashed in Charles's eyes.
He realized that Amy was speaking about the fusion of The Continent of Overlord and Blue Planet as if she had witnessed a civilization transitioning to The Continent of Overlord firsthand.
Charles had considered the possibility of a coincidence, but given Amy's detailed, third-party explanation, it was hard to believe that this Dark Elf was just an ordinary Elf.
