Chapter 17: Am I in a third rate cliche and boring novel?!
The reason the Lyrians chose the path of the dangerous forest, is because it takes shorter time.
They can traverse it within a week and return back in another week, after buying some cheap food in large amounts from the local merchants of the town and then selling it for a way higher price in Lyria, and I mean a WAY higher price.
If they buy an apple for one bronze coin, they'll sell it for five bronze coins.
Normal vegetables and fruits that grow in Earth are grown here too, but exotic ones like Feryin which is a purple coloured apple with a red core inside it are available here too.
Just that, fruits like Feryin are not available to the ordinary masses. They're way too costly.
One gold coin is equal to ten silver coins, and one silver coin is equal to a hundred bronze coins.
The Lyrians who sell food for high prices are basically making a windfall of money. But, the problem is that it's extremely risky.
Seven out of ten times, they're found by a level two monster and eaten brutally while they're traversing the dangerous forest called Erlin.
They can escape from the level two monster though, if they are traveling through the forest as a group, and they can be heartless enough to throw their companions to the level two monster before escaping.

But, if they're luck is extremely bad, and even the gods themselves wants them dead, then they can encounter a level three monster.
Encountering these is the same thing as dying. You won't escape. More like you can't. You might as well just give up and not waste your energy running.
Encountering level three monsters is extremely rare as they do not come out onto the roads or paths that people use to travel frequently.
The level three monsters survive by feeding on the level two and level one monsters, and so, unless you've done some sin that wants you to repent, you will not encounter them.
It is also said that level four and level five monsters exist, but no Lyrians or Andesteins have ever seen them. Maybe they're just myths, or maybe they do exist, just far, far away from these two kingdoms.
Anyway back to the story.
John had called for a gathering, and the farmers obliged, expecting that he would talk about hunting and various other issues currently on hand.
But what they heard after reaching the gathering was completely different.
-------------------------
John looked at the farmers who were staring at him intently and smiled.
He started saying the reason of this gathering.
"Good Morning, fellow farmers.
We've all known each other from years. Some of us even know each other from a decade. So you all know that I wouldn't lie. What I'm about to say is something completely unbelievable. Frankly speaking, if someone had come to me and told me about this, I would have personally taken him to the nearby healer and asked them if he had gone insane.
But! What I'm going to say is completely true! I swear upon the holy ancestors that every single word that will come out from my mouth this few next minutes is absolutely true!"
All the farmers gasped. Just what was so crazy, that their leader had to even swear upon the holy ancestors before speaking?
What was he gonna say!?
The leader had paused and taken in a deep breath.
Various farmers had various thoughts passing through their heads.
Was the leader gonna say that level two monsters came into their forests?
Did the merchants of the other town find out what some Lyrians were doing and coming personally to sell food?!
One crazy farmer even had the thought,
Is the leader going to say that we are all in a third rate boring novel full of cliches?!
