Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 774: Snow Fairy

Tens of thousands of young celestial maidens floated gracefully into the Harmony Divine Palace, facing the most crucial test of their lives.

Outside the palace, tens of thousands of celestial palanquins remained parked.

The number of celestial slaves carrying each palanquin reached into the millions, a testament to the noble lineage of these celestial maidens, surely descendants of the mighty clans from various regions of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm.

The Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, 1,000 times grander than the Celestial Court, naturally attracted an astonishing congregation of elites.

Looking around, those celestial women who had received the Harmony Rings indeed radiated a Corona of their own, their heads surrounded by a divine glow, exalted above all, as if they were the offspring of countless divine emperors.

And these were merely the young celestial talents, desperate to enter the Harmony Divine Palace...

“Is the Harmony Divine Palace strong, or is the Ancestral Land that Lil Xi entered stronger? Is the Ancestral Land in the Heavenly Deity Stellar River?”

So far, Yun Xiao had gathered information only about the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, with nothing yet on the Ancestral Land.

The slaves outside the Harmony Divine Palace were exceedingly numerous!

He quietly slipped away from the crowd and into the mist, unnoticed by anyone.

The slaves, devoid of emotion, waited dully.

Yun Xiao skirted around the Harmony Divine Palace.

His Prison Warden Sigil returned to the center of his forehead, opening a violet eye.

This was the first form of the Prison Warden Sigil, Soulfire Eye!

This eye offered a broader perspective than Yun Xiao's current eyes, more sensitive to celestial formations.

"The Harmony Divine Palace is immense, and so are its celestial formations."

He bypassed the palace and entered the ethereal expanse of endless mountains and ravines. Everywhere he looked, whether palace walls or courtyards, were covered in celestial formations. A slight misstep might alarm the Immortals here.

Yun Xiao did not fly on his sword; instead, his white robe fluttered amidst the majestic peaks, carefully avoiding the celestial formations.

"The celestial energy here is indeed dense, almost like a liquid, 1,000 times denser than the Celestial Court. It's a pity that it's all the Yin attribute, too monotonous," mused Yun Xiao as he moved along.

Despite its vastness, the Harmony Divine Palace was not densely populated; with millions of mountain peaks and palace courts, it seemed each female Immortal might own a mountain or a palace.

Yun Xiao entered the Harmony Divine Palace like a mosquito flying over a lake, causing no stir.

"With tens of thousands entering the Palace Selection, and Yao Yao drawing a late number, I have plenty of time to wander."

Yun Xiao let himself roam freely within the grounds of the Harmony Divine Palace.

Fortunately, the mountain-protecting formations weren't active; otherwise, Yun Xiao might not have even made it to the outer layers.

The world before him was one of ice, snow, and numerous cold rivers.

Everywhere were ice crystals, snowflakes, cold dark tides, and frosty pools, and even the trees were of a frost-resistant pale white.

Yun Xiao queried the little black beast perched on his shoulder, "Find anything?"

The creature, with its four eyes darting about, seemed more interested in sniffing than seeing. Red Moon, though obscured by the dense belly fur, possessed nostrils quite keen, busying himself alongside Blue Star, sniffing through the icy wilderness.

"These women are stingy hunters," Blue Star complained. "Such a vast mountain and not a treasure in sight."

"Let's keep looking," Yun Xiao replied, his patience unshaken.

He was waiting for Feng Yao to secure her discipleship at the Harmony Divine Palace, without which they couldn't proceed with other plans. Dressed in white, his figure was nearly invisible against the snow. He delved deeper into this world of perpetual frost. The steep mountains, dense forests, numerous valleys, dark streams, and abysses—all perfect battlegrounds should the need arise.

After some time wandering without luck, just as Yun Xiao was about to leave, both Blue Star and Red Moon exclaimed simultaneously, "We smell it!"

"What do you smell?" he asked casually.

"The scent of a Calamity Source!" Blue Star declared.

"Milk! Rich and creamy!" announced Red Moon.

Ignoring Red Moon, Yun Xiao turned to Blue Star, "Your nose is quite remarkable, to smell a Calamity Source?"

"Such natural treasures born from the world itself cannot escape my senses," Blue Star boasted.

"Let's see then, check if you're boasting," Yun Xiao said.

"Heh," Blue Star could only laugh. Could it be wrong?

Following his guidance, Yun Xiao descended into an abyss where the air grew colder, revealing an underground ice river below.

"The milk! It’s getting richer!" Red Moon looked ahead, excited.

"Are you both sensing the same spot?" Yun Xiao asked.

"It means there’s treasure, and people too," Blue Star cooed.

"A mommy!" Red Moon said excitedly.

"Calm down, the mommies belong to our bro, not you," Blue Star bluntly retorted, dousing his excitement.

Red Moon wailed, his cries filling the icy passage, causing Yun Xiao to glare. "Keep it down, or you'll draw the wrath of some Heavenly Monarch, and we'll both be doomed," he cautioned.

He tucked the little black beast into his embrace, moving quietly along the crystal-clear river flowing beneath the earth. The river shimmered like a flow of crystals, its icy clarity enhancing the secluded beauty of the place.

"Up ahead, the river cascades into a waterfall, and behind that fall lies a cave. The scent comes from within," Blue Star whispered eerily.

"Alright."

Yun Xiao drifted forward like a gust of wind, soon hearing the roar of the waterfall.

Indeed, the river plunged over an edge, forming a curtain of water.

With the noise masking his movements, he approached more boldly and paused mid-air beneath the cascade. The spray drenched his hair, misting his face as he faced the curtain formed by the waterfall.

"There's someone inside, but their presence is faint, hardly a threat."

With this in mind, Yun Xiao skipped the usual precautions of scouting with his spirit first.

Without another word, he shot through the waterfall's curtain like a white shadow, entering the cave beneath.

The mist parted, and the cavern opened up around him.

This was a natural ice cave, devoid of any celestial formations, a place seldom visited.

The cave wasn't large, filled with hanging icicles dripping cold water, their drips echoing in the quiet.

"The Calamity Source!" Yun Xiao advanced a few steps and soon saw it.

On the icy floor ahead, lay the Calamity Source, not housed within an icy slip but resembling a cluster of white clouds.

For a moment, Yun Xiao was unsure of the nature of this Calamity Source.

Yet, he felt this object was of high quality and perfectly suited for his primordial void celestial power, potentially very useful.

Its cloud-like appearance might be a disguise. It was said that some of the most vicious Calamity Sources appeared harmless, only revealing their true trouble once consumed.

Generally, without a clear understanding of a Calamity Source's type or examples of its refinement, most would hesitate to use it for crossing tribulations; after all, with over 1,800,000,000 types of Calamity Sources, many rare ones were not easily identified at a glance.

Yun Xiao wasn't one to ignore his instincts. So, he strode forward in a few quick steps, ready to secure the cloud-like Calamity Source with an icy slip. Just then, he heard an odd sound.

"Hah, hah…!" It was a suppressed, almost unbearable female voice, inherently seductive, making Yun Xiao's ears tingle with numbness.

He paused, pushing the eager Red Moon down, and glanced sideways.

The location of the Calamity Source opened into another ice crystal cave, and that peculiar sound had emerged from this second chamber.

What he saw next ignited a fire within him. The celestial beauty was so perfect, and few women could dazzle Yun Xiao at first sight.

But the woman before him did just that! She lay upon a rectangular block of ice that resembled a bed.

Her flawless snow-white hair spread out across the ice, like a snowflake made of icicles.

Beneath that mane was a perfect face, framed by pure pink eyes that complemented her snowy locks, imparting an ethereal, flawless beauty akin to a sprite of the snow.

Her demeanor had some semblance to Divine Dawn, both embodying a pure beauty. Yet, unlike Divine Dawn who sometimes appeared childlike and slightly fierce, this woman with white hair and pink eyes bore a mature, timeless grace.

Her gaze was as deep as the sea, as misty as a dream, clothed in pure white and soft pink...

What captivated Red Moon the most was the sight of two pearl-like treasures trembling lightly in the air, as sweet as anything on earth.

Indeed, she was pristine, unadorned, presenting herself purely and simply before Yun Xiao.

As he reached for the Calamity Source, their eyes met—his and hers, the pink eyes that held the world.
