Chapter 373 Provoking Space
Including Order, I have five Elements left to upgrade. Let's start with Gravity, System.
-Upgrade Gravity to SS-Rank?
No, all the way to X-Rank.
-Confirmed.
-650000 PP
Ouch. Just upgrading the Gravity Element is the combined cost of all the Epic Elements... William winced in pain as almost half of his remaining Potential Points were gone in the blink of an eye.
From S-Rank to SS-Rank, the Gravity Element pressed William down to one knee, his body shaking as he struggled to maintain his position. The difference between an Epic and Legendary Element was made obvious at a glance.
Even with all the effects of his other Talents, William was placed in a difficult position right from the start. The Gravity Element was domineering, finally able to showcase its strength compared to when it was being ordered around by Chaos.
While its consciousness wasn't nearly as developed as the Chaos Element, Gravity also had a mind of its own, though it usually stuck to the rules and kept to itself. Seeing that its Host had chosen to remove multiple seals at once, however, it was determined to destroy William and gain its freedom.
The SS-Rank upgrade finished, but the next one started immediately after, granting the Gravity Element enough strength to force William to the ground and crack some of his bones. William was forced to open the Life Territory to heal himself quickly, but the Gravity Element was expending his Mana at an incredible pace already.
Half an hour passed before the Gravity Element reached SSR-Rank, its intensity rising as the X-Rank upgrade started. William's bones were shattered by the Manamatus-Title enhanced Gravity Element, reformed by a combination of the Recovery Talent and Life Element, at the cost of fifteen years of lifespan.
William panted heavily as the Gravity Element receded into his body, happy that he had chosen to upgrade one Legendary Element at a time rather than multiple.

All that to get a Territory that can change Gravity? It's basically the same as the Domain! William complained inwardly.
-With permanent effects.
Permanent? So what? Why would I want... wait a minute.
William looked in the night sky above his head, where the sun had almost completely dipped into the horizon while the moon was appearing on the opposite side.
-That's right, you could create a small moon if you so wished.
William's eyes glimmered. His Elements were becoming so powerful that he could be like a God of his own new planet. Was this the source of many Myths? Were Gods really just Cultivators with powerful Elements?
Even if the Territory wasn't unbelievably effective, he had to admit that the power of the Gravity Element was nothing like its S-Rank version. He could suppress Cultivators like Marcus with ease using just Gravity, the same as he did with the Seal Element.
I have a bit over a million Points left. It's only enough to upgrade one more Element to X-Rank, so I should pick one that's useful.
The decision was easy, since his Space Element was still only S-Rank. William communicated his thoughts to the System, bracing himself for the spatial storms that would destroy his manhood again and again.
This specific feature was the main reason why William hadn't upgraded the Space Element again up until now, since its violent features had a greater impact on his mind than the Necromancy Element could ever have.
Before the upgrade could begin, William removed all of his clothing and his Artifacts, since the stronger Elements were able to damage even Starmetal with their wanton attacks. If anything happened to his precious items stored in the Space Ring, William didn't know what he would do.
Thankfully most of the best things are in my Starmetal Safe, but I still have quite a bit on me. It would be a shame if I lost any of them.
"Bring it on, Space!" William flexed his muscles as the spatial storms opened, commencing the SS-Rank Space upgrade.
The Space Element became angry at William's provocation, targeting his groin right from the start. Since he was able to move, William dodged left and right at extreme speed, redirecting the Space Element's attacks so that they damaged his arms and legs instead, protecting himself to the best of his ability.
This tactic worked wonders for the first upgrade, but the Space Element seemed to become smarter on the second. Its attacks became feints, appearing as if they'd attack his face and groin at the same time. The moment William went to dodge, the spatial storms would intensify and wrap around him, targeting his entire body all at once.
William caught on to the Space Element's strategy almost immediately, but when the X-Rank upgrade started, the Space Element's attacks switched up again. Instead of attacking him thousands of times per second, the Space Mana floated away as if it was running, gathering together into a massive tornado made entirely of Space Mana.
Seeing the tornado made William's face turn slightly pale. He could tell with a glance that this attack was nothing like any of the other Elements could achieve, even surpassing the Chaos Element's viciousness.
Most of this was because William didn't have many great counter strategies to the unique Space Mana that could even tear through the miniscule gaps in his skin cells. His Hard Body Talent was rendered almost ineffective when the Space Tornado enveloped William's body, cutting him up into thousands of tiny pieces that were dispersed in all directions.
The Recovery Talent's side effect flashed wildly, increasing William's age by four years a second until half a minute had passed. By the end of the upgrade, William had lost one hundred and twenty-six years of age, bringing him to a whopping 527 years old.
