Book 1: Chapter 9: Activation Conditions of the Precognition
Book 1: Chapter 9: Activation Conditions of the Precognition
Magus of Flowers: This is a woman’s topic. Let’s not participate in it.
He Who Knows Fate: I was considering buying the Illusion Arts to befuddle all the teachers.
Magus of Flowers: Go buy it. The Illusion Arts is great!
He Who Knows Fate: But I’m afraid there might be a powerful hidden expert among the teachers. It would be over then.
Iron Fist Teacher: I recall that China’s college entrance exams differ from Japan’s. There is only one sitting per year? If you fail, you can only retake it the following year, so you’d better study properly.
He Who Knows Fate: Right. Furthermore, the exams are coming soon. The college entrance exams are in 15 days.
Umaru-chan: I recall that the association’s store sells high school knowledge, right?
He Who Knows Fate: Right, 10 points for language and math subjects, and 30 points for science and humanities subjects.
Umaru-chan: I’m only in the first year of high school, so I’m in no rush. Furthermore, I’m quite confident in my studies.
He Who Knows Fate: I’m not that talented, just within the top ten during middle school. Honestly speaking, abilities are quite helpful in improving brainpower. The cultivators and ability users in my world normally do well in school as our memories are good. So I’m not worried about the college entrance exams.
As Chen Heng chatted, his Absolute Precognition suddenly activated. He saw…himself taking the college entrance exams.
Trashy Precognition!
After thinking about it for some time, Chen Heng understood how his Absolute Precognition worked. This Precognition was a damaged ability and would frequently short-circuit. He activated it for the first time when he woke up in the hospital bed. At that time, he saw his original future—the one without the Dimension Administrators Association and the Precognition. He died a miserable death, and there was nothing more. The Precognition had short-circuited; there was no more reaction.

The second activation took place half an hour later. He had been thinking about how to deal with the situation when he saw the timeline shift. He saw himself joining the Dimension Administrators Association this morning. The shift in the timeline should be due to his receiving the gift from the world, the Precognition. He had attracted the Dimension Administrators Association’s attention due to that change.
This was the third activation. When he discussed the college entrance exams, he saw the scene of him taking the college entrance exams in the future.
This means my damaged Precognition will show me what I was thinking about prior to its activation. Furthermore, there is no pattern to its activation, happening randomly?
“Elder Brother, what are we doing now?”
“Oh! Sorry! Elder Brother was in a daze earlier. Sirin, what do you like?”
“I don’t know.” Sirin shook her head. I forgot that her memories are sealed.
What a headache! How could Chen Heng know what a child would like? After thinking about it, he decided to bring Sirin to the night market and see if she expressed interest in anything. However, he had to get her a change of clothes first.
He Who Knows Fate: @Efreet, are the clothes ready?
Efreet: I just got them. I’ll send them to you in a private message. By the way, I noticed that the clothes that Sirin wore in one of the pictures that Umaru-chan sent looked quite nice, so I got a set of similar-looking clothes tailor-made for her. The original clothes are quite pretty, but they are not very convenient for moving around.
He Who Knows Fate: You can get it tailor-made so quickly?
Efreet: This is the power of money. There’s an even more exquisite set being made. That will take a lot of time.
Chen Hen set the receiving point of the clothes in his storage necklace. Then, he received them. At the same time, he sent a red packet with 100 points to Efreet. Honestly speaking, the purchasing power of points was quite impressive.
“Sirin, let’s go. Let’s go upstairs and get you changed. I’ll bring you to the night market.”
“Clothes? Where?”
“In the necklace. I’ll place these clothes in your room now. That’s right. The room you were sleeping in earlier was my room. The neighboring room is yours.” Chen Heng brought Sirin upstairs and led her to the room he tidied earlier.
Chen Heng took out four large suitcases from the necklace and placed them in a corner of the room. These were Sirin’s clothes. The two purple suitcases contained all sorts of clothes and shoes. The blue one contained underwear. The last, a red one, contained various daily necessities. Fortunately, Chen Heng’s necklace had plenty of space; otherwise, it could not have contained the luggage.
“Alright. I’m going down first. The purple suitcases contain clothes and shoes, the blue one contains underwear, and the red one is for daily necessities. Come down and find me after you finish changing.”
“Alright!” After Chen Heng went downstairs, Sirin closed the door. Then, she opened the two purple suitcases. One particular set of clothes immediately attracted her attention—it was the tailor-made set.
While Chen Heng waited for Sirin downstairs, he finished reading Re:Life Chat Group. It was hard to describe…
Mo Qingtong was the main character in this book, and Chen Heng took a role akin to a lead female supporting character.
The future the book described was similar to what Chen Heng saw with the Precognition. However, it was set at a different time. This book opened with the “female protagonist” (Chen Heng) dead for three years already. No wonder he could not see any future with the Precognition. He had died already, after all. How could there be a future?
[Author Note: The Absolute Precognition is not all-powerful clairvoyance. It cannot show everything like an almighty, omniscient god. It also cannot show what happens from Chen Heng’s viewpoint after he dies.]
After that came the main storyline. Mo Qingtong realized she had caused Chen Heng’s death and suffered deep remorse, in so much pain that she wanted to die. Then, she used the hidden culprit’s trust and stole the Chen Clan’s ancestral crystal. She got pursued and forced into a corner. With nowhere to run, she crushed the crystal with the thoughts of meeting Chen Heng in hell. Actually, she could have lived if she had handed over the crystal. After crushing the crystal, a mysterious power within the crystal brought her back five years in time, right after the college entrance exams. Then, she got added to a re:life chat group. The people in that chat group were all re”lifes. This was a multidimensional organization. Using this organization’s power, she stole the Chen Clan’s ancestral crystal again and handed it to Chen Heng. At the same time, she also changed the memories of the culprit. After that, Mo Qingtong and Chen Heng lived happily ever after. All that remained were just some happy slice-of-life events from the Re:Life Chat Group. The author of this book ended the novel with that.
[TL Note: This hidden culprit is a good friend of her elders.]
Chen Heng: …
“Well, in any case, that cannot possibly happen now. To make the current me die, you have to catch me first. If I cannot win, I can always hide. In the worst-case scenario, I can always take shelter in another world. Also, I did not know that my ancestral crystal could facilitate travel through time and space. No, I have to retrieve the crystal after I strengthen my ability. If I really cannot do it, I can bring in helpers. I don’t believe that the Dimension Administrators Association is less important than the Re:Life Chat Group.”
“Elder Brother, I’ve finished changing. Let’s go!” Sirin came down after changing her clothes.
“Oh! You looked much prettier! My Sirin has transformed into a little princess!”
Sirin looked stunning, shocking Chen Heng. Her long purple hair trailed down to her ankles, naturally curling up at the ends. There were two colorful feather ornaments on her head. Her top had three sets of straps crisscrossing each other, leaving two openings. The band covering her chest was white, and the rest was purple. Below, she wore a short white skirt with four short extensions with golden patterns on the inside and two purple cloth flower buds at the waist. Her long, dark gloves had pink finger segments and matched her purple, low-heeled shoes with pink sides.
[Author Note: You can take the picture in the link below as a reference. Just imagine the short skirt to be longer and the skirt extensions being shorter. The changes make it easier to move about. /uploads/images/%img%/%book%#Stigmata.]
