Chapter 513: Void
POV A random player:
He could see the dragon grow under his eyes, its body of darkness rising higher and higher as it stood up. Then it spread its wings of darkness and stars, and the entire battlefield froze under an oppressive aura.
Stars floated above the dragon's horns, like gems in the king's crown, as the beast opened its eyes, one burning with starfire, the second empty.
'It is still growing!' The player wanted to cry in despair, feeling like a fool after he had dreamt in the past about defeating it.
Tens of thousands of rays of light, arrows of fire, flew against it, launching from every direction, lighting up the background against the dragon's darkness. However, the dragon lit up in a burning, starry inferno so blindingly bright that the player's eyes burned, forcing him to avert his gaze.
'No way, what is this thing?!'
He opened his regenerated eyes, only to see darkness—not even a ray of light. It was absolute blackness. The sudden wave of weakness hit him without any warning.
'My mana and lifeforce are vansihing!' He felt all the energy from his body gradually trickled away, devoured by the thick darkness around him. He collapsed onto the cold rock below, gasping for air, only to stagger, unable to breathe as if he were in a vacuum.
'That monster must have absorbed everything, even the light!'

POV ???:
In a cold, frigid cave, the robbed skeleton stood in silence, his silhouette only illuminated by the glow of the black, diamond-tipped staff in his right hand.
"This shouldn't happen. This is new; the entire history is altered." He muttered, but internally, he was as happy as he could be in his skeletal form.
'Luckily, I avoided this entire mess by, as always, staying neutral.' That was the policy he has always followed—never make unnecessary enemies and always stay out of conflicts that have nothing to do with you.
'Only a fool would meddle in a conflict between gods.'

A few minutes earlier:
POV Vesuvius:
Angels, spirits, and elementals exploded around him, torn apart by black hole eruptions and scorched by starbursts flickering into and out of existence across the battlefield. The world oscillated violently between oppressive darkness and piercing light.
"What have you done?!" the Dragon God roared directly into the dragon's consciousness, yanking him from the intoxicating rush of his newfound powers.
"You were greedy. The energy isn't sufficient for two authorities. Your souls have fully transformed, yes, but your body and throne will suffer," the Dragon God's voice softened, sensing the dragon's burgeoning panic, his heart pounding in a still-morphing chest.
Regret tinged the god's tone. "Again, I am to blame. I should have foreseen this, knowing the greed of my kin. It is..."
Energy dwindled to mere droplets, burning away; Vesuvius felt his transformation stall, excruciating pain radiating as his twin king-tier souls began to corrode his physical form, unable to sustain them.
'Will I join the old kings?' Vesuvius managed a weak chuckle at his plight, resigned to a fate mingling with the dead dragon kings in their weird chamber.
"Your throne was never wrought to anchor your souls," the Dragon God's revelation drained the hope from Vesuvius' heart. As despair flickered in his eyes, falling into dust, the god quickly interjected, "But there is something else anchoring your soul."
'It must be either my star or my buried heart. I can't die so easily. Like a cockroach! Perhaps my body will regenerate from my heart over time.'
While the prospect of existing as a disembodied soul for a prolonged time was far from appealing, it still offered relief, making him feel as light as a feather.
Suddenly, the Dragon God's presence withdrew from his mind, replaced by the sensation of being observed by an unseen horror. His souls quivered under the scrutiny, as vulnerable as if stripped bare. The chilling stare emanated from a small rift left by battling void walkers, radiating both omnipotent power and a void-like emptiness.
"I bless you and sanction your ascension."
Energy flooded him anew, echoing the void's chilling embrace. His transformation ignited once more, his body rapidly adapting, drawing in the potent void power.
Vesuvius opened his eyes, he couldn't even tell how much time had passed. The warm of the joy of living perpetrated through him, mixing with the euphoria of power surging through him. He suddenly felt so powerful, alive, and whole.

POV Knowledge:
The black crystal trembled, its surface vibrating as the god of knowledge hiding inside shook. Despite their desire to curl up, shut their eyes, clutch their head, and unleash a scream, their lack of a physical form made it impossible.
"Void is awake... Void is awake..." They muttered repeatedly, knowing it was all wrong! They made all the calculations, yet they would never guess that Void would appear.
"Ah, I should never have roused the void walkers! Now, the Void is awake and active, while Genesis scrambles to mend Purity, who remains comatose and broken, and the Creator? Absent as ever. What will Mother say when she sees the chaos..."
The unforeseen had unfolded—the one scenario they didn't anticipate. The one entity among the four that she hoped wouldn't come has come.
